Choke Canyon Travel Center

This is a big nice gas station with plenty of parking and gas pumps . Very nice restrooms. A barbecue restaurant. Lots of food stuff, novelties, drinks, and beer.
And as an added bonus, there is a helote ( roated corn) stand across the street.

Great selection of items, and amazing bakery. Have tried many of the cheesecakes they offer, and every one of them has been amazing.

Decent prices on most items, BBQ restaurant inside with great BBQ. Always stop here for a snack or meal when passing by.

Registers are always busy but take care of people really quick, never much of a wait.

Orange chicken with rice is so delicious and big portions I will be back soon

Ultra clean bathroom sign is totally correct. I might as the entire location. Every time I have stopped here it’s the same. Consistent and constantly is all I can say

Clean restrooms! Delicious good, courteous staff! Highly recommend as a pit stop. They have a variety of goods like purses, souvenirs and toys!

UPDATE: March 17, 2022. The employees are friendly and helpful. Sadly the Alligator is gone all thanks to Buc-ee's lawsuit. I would choose these travel centers over Buc-ee's any day. The Bar B Q restaurant inside can not be beat. The brisket is very tender and the sausage is quite flavorful. The cleanliness of the bathrooms is highly remarkable. I wish the gator merchandise would return, it's much more desirable than the current mascot, and more appealing than an ugly beaver.

You can find just about anything in there. It reminds me of the Ika markets in Europe. Small, but with necessary items and more. The store has been open for about 2&1/2 years now. I recommend the sweet tea, it was delightful. We also purchased donuts and popcorn. Both were delicious 😊 If you want a t-shirt with the gator on it and you wear a small, you are out of luck. They carry medium and x-large only 😑

Always a great stop. Visit this place once a month to get some great BBQ. Shop is just amazing and so much to look through.

Choke Canyon had really nice bathrooms very clean spacious and comfortable. They have a nice selection of souvenirs and a spectacular variety of food that was good quality including fresh fruits and meat / cheese packs, great for car trips.

I recommend stopping here if headed to Laredo or Eagle Pass. If headed to Eagle Pass, this is definitely the last good stop for the bathroom before exiting the highway.

Anytime we come through here it is a MUST to stop. One, thanks for having some of the cleanest restrooms on I35 S. Secondly, your food is the BEST. From the breakfast tacos to the the BBQ. Your brisket rub is FANTASTIC! That rub on the burnt ends is phenomenal. One of the best BBQ places that I GLADLY travel great distances for! (PS…..start making your own sweet iced tea again, this IS Texas 😊)

This is by far my favorite gas station to utilize. They have the cleanest restrooms I have ever seen! The food is great and so are the prices.

Exceptionally clean place, restrooms are very nice. Just about everything you might want or need is here and at a competitive price. Friendly employees that seem genuinely happy to be there and to help you. Also this location has some of if not THE best barbecue I've ever had!!!! All the sides are great too; potato salad, pinto beans, bread, tortillas....you name it, it's great:)

I don’t think I have ever wrote a review about a gas station and I drive all over. This gas station was so incredibly clean and had some great food options! I bought a Turkey pot pie and it was actually way better than I could have ever expected.

Walking into this place you immediately smell the incredible BBQ they got cooking up. The employees were very friendly. The restrooms were by far the cleanest I've ever seen at such a high traffic gas station. As busy as it was, there was little wait time. Everything operated very smoothly. Extremely impressed.

So many items to choose from. My fave part was the assortment of beautiful crosses but there is something here for kids of all ages ... yes adults too lol. Very clean restrooms and plenty of gas pumps.

I love this store when it’s not extremely crowded. They’re so friendly and the place is always spotless! Love the sugar cookies bud all their food is pretty good!
