We go to this campground every year. The sites are beautiful, staff is amazing, the owner is personable and accommodating. We will be going back for our annual river trip, again and again. Love this place!!! There's unlimited tubing with your tube rental, unlike rivers edge. With the new route of shuttles we had gotten turned around. When asking for directions the staff at rivers edge were EXTREMELY rude, yelling at us for even asking for help...!? Looking forward to next year at the hideaway campground!

Been twice and had soo much fun!!! The atmosphere was fun, the scenery was beautiful, the owner was really nice, personable and helpful. Our family had a blast each time. There's plenty of amenities that are covered while camping which is helpful. People need to remember you are there to CAMP, not stay at a luxurious hotel.
We will DEFINITELY be coming back as long as this place is here!

Spent a few days at Apple River Hideaway. It was amazing, even without tube rental. Site had electric and water for a great price! My ladies and I just plopped our chairs into the river the first day. The second day had a blast floating down. The staff was awesome with firewood and ice delivery. Totally recommend for all who want to have fun at the Apple River!

Great sites along the river, fun place! I wish the large music festivals would make their way back to Somerset! Always a good time! Bathrooms aren't great but who cares, that's not why you're there! I would suggest holding a local contest for best artist, winner repaints the entrance signs graffiti style for a new look and get free access to the park or concerts. 20-30 years ago this place was in its prime and is still an amazing place to go get away for the weekend and have a great time! The atmosphere is very relaxed.

First time on the Apple River and can’t wait to go back! Apple River Hideaway was so much fun. We were able to get a campsite right on the river with water and electricity. Very pretty site, awesome waking up right next to the water. The people we were surrounded by were regulars. Many people we met said they’ve been coming to Hideaway for years! The tubes were great, no issues. The staff was awesome, helpful, and nice. Had a chance to meet the owner, Mike and he seemed super cool! Definitely knows how to run a fun place. We went to the on-site bar and watched the beer pong tournament. Good music and good fun. Highly recommend to adults of all ages. There were plenty of bathrooms dispersed throughout. They were very clean despite being basically a fancy port a potty. They smelled bad but what can you expect. The fact that they were clean and fully stocked with tp and hand sanitizer is all I cared about. Will definitely be going back next year!

We spent two long weekends here last summer and loved it so much that as soon as we got home after our last weekend we started planning our weekends for this coming summer! Only downside I would say is our first weekend camping there we had our GoPro and two Hammocks stolen (probably because we had a lot of wandering drunks visiting our campsite at random times in the night). The prices are fair and the staff is pretty laid back which makes the whole experience fun! (Definitely don’t recommend children camping on the weekends though!) Love that there is a shuttle that takes you to the bar at night and the staff is very helpful whenever you have questions or concerns so we didn’t have many issues throughout the weekends. Give this place a try, it really is a great time!

We had a great time; not only did they have a DJ on the river, but they also had a beer pong tournament one night and bags tournament the next night. The music was great staff was fantastic.

Apple River Hideaway is the best! The staff are some of the most humble and kind people you will ever have the pleasure of meeting in your life. The campground is very clean and well maintained, the bathrooms are in excellent condition and SPIDER FREE (THANK YOU!) Every single site I've stayed in has been a blast. You can be located right next to the beautiful river, or you can be located a little more inland and have all of the space you need to bring your friends and family. The shuttles are highly convenient, the food is excellent, the beer is cold, and the live entertainment is highly highly recommended! 5 STARS EVERY DAY!!😽

Staff here is incredibly courteous!! We met the owner, her step daughter, her mother...the whole family!! Absolutely wonderful people who took excellent care of our group!! Seems to be an excessive drinking culture on the river itself, however, which may be cause for serious safety concern. I feel like there should be life guards (or law enforcement) kayaking around, or at least posted in the platforms.

I've gone 4 years in a row and I love going because it's always a great experience. On 1 end they have a bar for late night activities, and a tractor that'll pull you to it. During the day you can float the river and drink your favorite canned beverage. Children can go but it's definitely more of a teen-to-drinking age group.

When I got to Apple River Hideaway I did not know what to expect because there were a lot of people there. But the staff handles everything very well. The river was amazing and the breakfast burritos and bloody Mary's in the morning were great. We forgot a number of items to bring with us like sunblock but they conveniently had those things at concessions. They were very friendly and accommodating. I will definitely come back to this party. This place is for people who want to experience a little of outdoors and party.

We had come up for my birthday the beginning of June. We had not arrived till almost 11pm, and The staff was extremely helpful when we arrived. Everyone that We had meet who worked there, even the owner had went above and beyond the entire weekend. We had a wonderful time tubing, and enjoying the beautiful campground right along the river. Will be returning again.

Hideaway is the best place to go if you have a bigger group for camping, came here for 4th of July weekend and found it a lot cleaner than most campgrounds I've been to (and I mean it's camping, not a 5-star hotel so of course nothing is sparkling, but accommodating nonetheless!), the staff was super friendly and helpful and the tubing experience was just as awesome. Plus the campsites are set up in a way that looks like a little community of tents and campers and it was great to make some new friends in the area, I would definitely make this trip a tradition!!

I spent many weekends here this summer and had an amazing time. Had a wonderful experience every time. The staff are incredible, especially Cory, he worked many of the weekends I was here and was extremely friendly and helpful. I would recommend this place to anyone that is looking for an enjoyable weekend.

Went tubing on July 3rd, was surprisingly slow for a holiday weekend. We had a Groupon, it was easy to get checked in. We went down the river twice, was probably there for about 4 hours or so. Be prepared for rapids, shallow spots that you hit with your butt, and some rocks and low hanging branches. Tons of fun, will definitely go back.

This is my first year at Apple River Hideaway. This place is absolutely amazing compared to the other campgrounds around. The staff is super friendly and it looks like they employee the local school kids for the day work. Support Local I say. The tubing was great. I am a bit heavier than I look and the boy handing out tubes hooked me up with a bigger one. Uber thanks for that. One thing I really like is that the firewood is delivered right to my site. I do not have to drive or walj to get it. Every staff member has wood in their 4 wheelers. The bar has some hot house beats and rocked a beer pong tournament tonight. I also think I saw the power rangers floating down the river today. It was pretty epic. Everything else is your typical campground experience.

Every time I go here I have the time of my life. We went on a slow weekend and had the pleasure of spending time with the owner, Mike. He is a very cool person and made our camping experience truly memorable. We look forward to returning as regular campers all summer long!

There is definitely nothing else like tubing the apple river and Apple River Hideaway is BY FAR the most fun, most clean and affordable place to camp and tube. I cannot tell you how many people I hear talk about how much fun they have each time they have gone to Hideaway. Their customer service is great, the workers are very helpful and nice, and the website makes booking very easy and conveinent for the customer.
