It was like what I imagined the Garden of Eden would look like. So beautiful! Nice free activity to get your steps in for the day. Don't get the sandwiches at the Cafe, doesn't seem worth it. Pack your water so you don't have to buy it and heck pack your food too since they allow food there. If I knew food was allowed would have packed a bunch of snacks. But a great fun experience for spring break! I recommend for you to check it out.

Beautiful! We picked a day with gorgeous weather and came out to get some walking in and take some pictures. There is a path that you can walk or use a wheelchair on but if you have mobility issues obviously don't take the stairs or attempt to get close to the waterfall. We took my parents and they were able to carefully and slowly navigate the stairs and enjoy the scenery. It was a lovely time.

Traveling through San Antonio and looking into attractions brought me here, and I'm so glad I came by. The Chinese Tea Garden had a lot of hints from a plethora of different cultures, but overall held a serenity along its path and scenery...

The trek up there is a little out of the way, but it's so worth it when you find the front gates! Everything feels so thoughtfully placed and planted, and everything felt so respected and independent. The winding, elegant stone paths, the bridges over the koi ponds - it was surreal and tranquil.

If you're in the area, I highly recommend visiting this small enclosure for an enriching exposure to the soul.

It doesn't look like much as you walk up the steps, but when you get to the top- WOW! It is absolutely breathtaking! It is so beautiful, with nooks to sit in. It is so magical, it is definitely worth seeing. They have a place to sit and eat. Smells so good, tastes even better! Don't miss this!

The Japanese Tea Garden is well worth a visit if you are ever in San Antonio. All you can smell when you walk in is the soothing scent of lavender. That's because lavender trees line the paths! Images do this site no justice. Fantastically, there is no admission cost, so even if money is tight, you can still have a great time. If not, there are sections where you may get Japanese food, boba tea, and other delicious goodies. They also have some very amazing mementos. Will return without a doubt the next time we're in town!

There were a LOT of people on our visit taking pictures, so we had to stop every couple of minutes to not get in the way. However, it's free, it's beautiful, and it's open 7 days a week.

This place is a great little gem! Located right by the zoo and close proximity to downtown, the Japanese Tea Garden is a great place to hang out! The botanical gardens, fish, ducks, waterfall, and over construction of this place will have yountaking photos for hours.
There are plenty of ramps if you can't tackle the stairs and there is free parking relatively close to the gardens. It's a "must-see" while visiting San Antonio!

A cute little place for you to get your day started in San Antonio. Since the place open up at around 7 AM, you can fit this into your itinerary easily. Cannot describe the place with a few words. Should definitely check it out if you’re in town visiting. It is also a great place for small events.

If you are ever in San Antonio, you gotta check out the Japanese Tea Garden. When you enter, all you smell is a calming lavender smell. That's because the paths are lined with lavender trees! Pictures don't do this place justice. Also, the entry fee is free which is amazing because you can still have a good time if low on funds. If you're not, they have areas that make Japanese food, boba tea and other yummy treats. They also have really awesome souvenirs. Will definitely be back if we're ever in town again!

These grounds are such a lovely, well kept, serene place to wander, walk, sit, breathe and meditate. It's not a big space and can be covered very quickly. I was able to cover it all, including a little trail behind/around the gardens going towards the zoo. Lots of gorgeous koi, birds, turtles, and other critters around to observe.

The Japanese Tea Garden is a jewel. It has amazing views and the waterfall adds splendor to the site. One can also have weddings there. It's a must see if visiting San Antonio, TX. It's open to the public at no cost.

This is a wonderful, quirky place with a rich history. I try to stop in whenever I'm in town. It's a lovely, Japanese-themed garden in Brackenridge Park, free to enter. There's a pretty walking path that goes from there over to the zoo, also. It's also interesting to read the history of the “Mexican Village“ that's adjacent.

Beautiful garden with interesting structures! We had a wonderful little visit with my wife and 5 year old daughter.
They have nice koi fish and one of the workers let my daughter have some of the fish food to feed them. She loved seeing the fish with their big fishy mouths suck up the food.
I love places like this where it’s free and fun and a little slice of nature to experience.

Very pretty. Great to come especially during spring. It’s free to come in. They have a shop and a cafe here too. There is some little hiking required, but not to hard.

Beautiful Japanese garden. Parking lot by the garden is small. May have to park on the other side of the road. Stone steps may be difficult for some.

I stayed away from this place for a while due to the fact that it is not easily accessible with a stroller, and my daughter hated her carrier. However, we finally explored there, and my child and her 2 friends had the best time! They loved the stairs and the koi fish. There are quite a few steep drop offs with no guard rail (they use a rock barrier, and some places have small rocks), so make sure to keep an eye on your little ones.
This place is beautiful, free, and within walking distance of the zoo. They also have a small cafe/gift shop kiosk. They have some cute souvenirs, as well as Boba tea, iced coffees, and food items. I tried the gyoza, and they were delicious!

Beautiful free outdoor garden with koi fish, waterfall and more than 100 incredible photo opportunities. Every angle is a wonderful view and spending time walking through is not only a great experience, but it’s even more incredible that both parking and the visit and absolutely free.
