St Mary's Catholic Church is a spectacular site to visit. It is a beautiful, up-kept, elegant historical church. My family gets to enjoy the church by just simply sitting there after a long walk at the river. Every sculpture and building facade was indeed enjoyable to check out.

Refreshment of the soul is in abundant supply at this spectacularly beautiful church. Since services began in 1857 this is a place where heaven and earth meet. Romanesque outside, it is richly decorated on the inside. This unique church has a treasure trove of remarkable statues. Stay after the Mass and take the time to experience it all. Can you find St. Anthony of Padua holding the Christ child? There are many others including a life-like Mother Theresa, colorful Pieta, and more. After the riverwalk and the sight-seeing, come home to this church for spiritual renewal.

I've stayed across the street from this church many times, but never been able to go in before now. Visited for benediction and mass. It is breathtaking inside and the liturgy was beautiful even though it was a weekday.

Such a beautiful church. It's magnificent in every way. As soon as you walk in you can feel the presence of our Lord. I just baptized my son here and it was such a beautiful memory.

Had not been to confession in so many years honestly forgot how. The priest was very kind and understanding. Every staff in church is amazing and kind. In response to the person about taking communion on your knees etc. No catholic church here in san antonio that I have been to does that. There are various ways of taking communion and various churches. U have orthodox catholic, Roman catholic etc, those who teach by Vatican one and those who teach by Vatican two. Honestly the lord does not care how u take eucharist as long as you follow his teachings and commandments. He loves everyone. Worship is what you are doing. And do it to your best. Ppl used to genuflect at the end if pew coming and going, once in the church, before taking the host and after, ppl sent even do that anymore.

Very nice old church. Extremely close to the River Walk and hotels so you can easily walk to church without having to think about parking issues.

The Catholic Church on the San Antonio River as it’s known. A beautiful and spiritual place to contemplate life.

As usual an amazing and quiet place for worship. It's an old church of historical importance. Sadly people have lost their ways to churches I guess. It just just and empty structure now a days.

Amazing Mass, beautiful church, faithful & traditional Oblate priests, great community with a Life in the Spirit seminar and lots of Healing Services. Husband and I got married here and had each one of our 3 kids baptized here as well. Can’t recommend Fr Ed and Fr John enough! Very holy priests! 🙏🏻

I love this church very much and the fact that it offers daily mass at 12 and the priest is wonderful. The only flaw for me is a person that helps with the mass has been unwelcoming and at times rude (several times.) This is the reason so many people leave the church because parishioners do not welcome them warmly. We are not all the same but as Christian’s we are called to be kind and loving to others. Some people even at an older age have so much to learn. It’s not about just going and helping at the church but also living the good Christian life when no one is watching.

This Church is located on the riverwalk. Gorgeous and welcoming. We first went for a healing Mass. It has changed our lives. The holy spirit moves you to a place of healing and praise through the loving hands of father Ed and his Team.

This church is a very beautiful church designed and decorated to make visitors feel the presence of the Lord and his Holy mother. Though lacking a vibrant choir when we visited, parishioners were friendly, visitors were welcomed and acknowledged and the parish priest was a very friendly and hospitable man of God. The lagniappe was attending the mass officiated by the Archbishop of San Antonio. Great experience and Ambience.

Father Ed always gives great homilies that are spiritually enriching. It is convenient to all of the downtown sights and attractions and it’s a beautiful parish. Love it here!

If you're looking for a peaceful place to make your prayers or go to the mass, it's really the right place. A great chorus with inspirational and devotional hymns. Besides that it's a beautiful church.

I was really moved by the sincerity, warmth,Christianity of the people and priest worshiping. Basically it is one of the most beautiful churches,i have ever visited. Reverence for Jesus and Mary, and a solid prayer aspect were seen by this observant. Incense, gently tipped at the nose evoking a "vatican like,' experience. The sacrament of Holy Communion was given in the modern style with participants lined up and the elements distributed by a couple of "lay people,". This means they are just like you and i with no formal religious training. But i wouldn't mind kneeling at the altar and holding my hands out, a comination of the modern practice of holding the hands out for acceptance of the eucharist, and the older more traditional pre Vatican 2 practice of going to the altar. But pre Vatican 2 they had the elements placed in their mouths and i wwould be, i guess fearful the element would fall and it sems more awkward for the priest. So hence a great combination of old and 'new.' Anyway, the congeniality surprised me. This is a downtown church. This is not a suburban church. Families with all ages children including teenagers would find a warm and safe, a welcoming church home i think, at St. Mary's. Give it a try.

Very nice place. We stoped here when geocaching. Unfortunately for us it was a downpour and we did not find what we were looking for. If it would have been nicer weather we would have enjoyed it more.
