Shenandoah Bible Baptist Church

A very warm welcoming congregation. A very zealous Preacher that truly loves the Lord and his people. There is a bus ministry and classes so that everyone can hear the gospel of Jesus Christ at their own level.

Visited about 18 months ago and was very impressed. What I liked best was that the men wore suits and ties---that shows respect, in my opinion. I wore my suit and a bow tie and everyone I spoke to commented on my bow tie, but it was OK with them. (I'm a die-hard bow tie man, and wouldn't wear anything else) But most important, I liked the service, Pastor Bane was great and I enjoyed meeting him. Am planning to go back soon.

I enjoyed my visit and it was just as advertised on their website. Men were largely in suits and ladies in conservative dresses. I was not dresses as fancy, sport slacks and a short sleeve button down. I was welcomed and people were happy I was there. It was a traditional Southern Baptist style service with hymns and plenty of scripture read and preached.
My only hang up is the strict adherence to the KJV and exclusion of other translations. This is stated in their statement of faith so I was not surprised. If the KJV only use is not an issue for you this is a gospel preaching church with a loving and welcoming congregation and a vibrant youth program. Tithe and offering appear to be stewarded well. There was nothing lavish about the pastors, staff or facilities that I observed.

I love this church, I attended this church majority of my childhood. However, I wish they still provided transportation with the church busses! Would be an incredible thing for churches to provide transportation for individuals and their families, especiallyfor those that do not have reliable or safe transportation. Thank you all for your kindness to me and my son. Thank you for welcoming me back with open arms. I look forward to my future in the church. 😀

Shenandoah Bible Baptist Church (SBBC) in Martinsburg, WV, is a strong Bible believing, teaching, preaching church. The music (psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs) is wonderful, God honoring, and not worldly.

The people at SBBC are the friendliest I have found anywhere. They have a sense of humor - they laugh and smile easily. They make even newcomers feel at home.

Sunday School (9:45 AM) is great. There are over a dozen classes from which to choose so everyone can find a class that suits their need. They have many classes for children too, where they learn Bible verses and develop character. The teachers do their homework and present strong lessons from the Word of God.

Sunday night (6 PM) services also are a blessing, and not a repeat from Sunday morning (10:45 AM). The message or study is deeper and ministers to our needs; sometimes encouraging, sometimes instructing, sometimes convicting.

Wednesday night Bible study (7 PM) is led by the pastor, Corey Bane. Pastor Bane is great, he loves his flock and shows and tells us so. He prayerfully studies and researches to give us in-depth study and accurate understanding of the Word of God. He backs everything he teaches with Bible verse and Bible principles.

SBBC is very involved with the community and there are many ministries where you can plug in. The children’s ministries and bus ministries are fantastic.

I was so pleasantly surprised and blessed to have recently found Shenandoah Bible Baptist Church. I love it!

Since initially writing this review I became an official member of the SBBC family. Our former pastor (Pastor Bane) and his wife moved to be closer to their children and start a new ministry counseling new pastors. Our new pastor is another very dear and godly, younger man, John Woullard. Pastor John and his family are such a blessing to us all. He has all the wonderful qualities of Pastor Bane and he brings a depth to his teaching with a special background.

As I get to know everyone even better, God is helping me establish some godly, sweet relationships with many of the other women there and I am very blessed.

We are growing and God is adding to our church body new believers who were led to the Lord by others in our church, new believers new to the area, or established believers called to be at SBBC. We are believers of all ages. We’re not all over 70, we’re not all under 30, we’re not all 50 years old! I like this so much.

Our Christian school is awesome too. It is 50 years old, established with a sound curriculum, and strong, devoted teachers.

I love my church family, can you tell?😀 I thank God He called me to this wonderful family of believers!

A family oriented church that loves all people, a Place to call Home. Love the King James Bible and the messages the Lord lays on the heart of Pastor Bane. So many ministries and programs for the entire family. Strong missions minded church and love the great hymns and songs of the faith. I LOVE MY CHURCH! Come visit and find "A Place To Call Home".

My family and I have been a member of this church for 11 years. We are blessed with a great pastor, Pastor Corey Bane, and a great staff and congregation that loves the Lord. I firmly believe that our emphasis is in the right place and that we exalt Jesus Christ as the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6). God's Word (Truth) is taught over popular opinion in the various weekly services. God's Word Changes Lives!

I visited this church a couple of times while travelling. There are many dead and dying churches out there these days. This one is not one of those! So much excitement and so much going on at this church! Also, the pastor, Dr. Jeff Owens, has a sincere love for his people. This was very apparent during my two visits in the past couple of weeks. His preaching style keeps your attention easily, teaches real "meat and potatoes" lessons from The Bible, is saturated in godly love for the people, and yet, is "no holds barred" when it comes down to telling it like it is. Much better than a watered down, pacifying sermon that doesn't help anyone to change for the better. Furthermore, while fully realizing that the people are not perfect (for no one is), it was a church full of very friendly people who seemed to be eager to help me to feel at home while away from home. If I was to move to the Martinsburg area, I would definitely go to this church regularly.

This place worked on me quickly and I was saved! Thank you Father Jesus Lord for entering my heart and those within for helping me realize my savior 🙏 Also very kid oriented (my 5 year old jumps out of bed when I remind him we're going to church) and if you want to find a church that's not "dead" I implore you to just come for a few services.

Great church love everyone in there to me everyone is family good loving church will welcome everyone with open arms. Feels just like home! I recommend this church for everyone
