A last stop on a "progressive dinner" through downtown Shepherdstown. The restaurant was full at 8p so we grabbed the last four seats at the bar to eat. The bartended politely introduced herself (Susan) and was spot on with service and recommendations. We started with the grilled peach appetizer and then the wife had their Bolognese and I had the Shrimp Pasta. Both dishes were excellent, with the past a perfect starchy al dente holding the sauce and the flavors.

We love this place; elevated comfort food in a relaxed environment. Our go to table waiter is David, he always takes great care of us. Suzie is the absolute best bartender and her espresso martinis are to die for (sorry Suzie!)

My parents and I chose to dine at Press Room for my mothers birthday. We started off with oysters, which were beautifully shucked and prepared perfectly. My mother had a beet and goat cheese salad while i had a caesar, and then for our entrees she had scallops and i had an artichoke heart and italian sausage pasta. My father had a mushroom pasta which he said was amazing, and the scallop entree and artichoke pasta were to-die-for. We ended our night with lemon cheesecake and a cannoli, both which were amazing. My mom also had a lemon drop cocktail which she said was the best she’s ever had. Sarah was our server and she provided excellent service and made our dining experience 10 times better. We will for sure be visiting again and requesting her as our server.

We made reservations for our anniversary and they called us back a few days before to let us know about streetfest so we could have time to park. So awesome of them to do that! Our table was ready a bit early… service was absolutely outstanding and the food - WOW. This is the best dinner we’ve had close to Hagerstown. They even put a little candle in our dessert. So sweet!! We will definitely be coming back.

Celebrated our anniversary here and the experience was outstanding! The service was perfect, the food delicious and quiet enough to hear each other. The fig appetizer, fig stuffed with goat cheese and wrapped with bacon, was outstanding. Very good value and right here in Jefferson County, WV - almost heaven!

This was a dining experience me, not my partner will NEVER forget. It was definitely one of the most exquisite, delicious, most perfect dining experiences we’ve had for sure! I keep referring to our dinner as a “dining experience” because that’s exactly what it was! From being greeted at the door and walked to our table, from the server’s kindness and knowledge of the menu/specials AND allergen information, all the way to the presentation of each course and Birthday wishes at the end, everything was AMAZING!
The server gave us time to get settled in and asked what we’d like to drink, while recommending some starters and listing the specials. We started with the Grilled Peach, as well as the Mussels appetizers. Both were presented PERFECTLY and cooked to perfection. We almost didn’t want to eat the food it looked so good on the plate!
My partner had a martini that was delicious! For our meals, I had the Duck Breast, and my partner had the Hanger Steak. Both entrees were delicious!! SOOOO GOOD!!!
We both also had dessert. I, the tiramisu, and my partner, the chocolate bomba (I believe it was called) - a chocolate shell with ice cream on the inside.
From the beginning of the meal when we mentioned we were celebrating my partner’s birthday, the server (I feel so bad that I can’t remember her name :( ) remembered and served her dessert with a candle!
When we return to the area, we definitely will be back!!

We sat at the bar and I wish I could remember her name but our bartender took great care of us. Definitely a little pricey but you always get what you pay for and the food was outstanding and the cocktails were perfect

ImPressed by the Press Room. It lives up to it's reputation. Every dish we had was exceptional. On paper the menu seems familiar Americana. However something magical is happening in the kitchen which makes these familiar dishes new and vibrant in it's tastes! While this restaurant is rated as expensive, it is modestly priced when compared with restaurants in a major city. Reservations are highly recommended! Staff are very accommodating. The same menu is offered at either the dinning room or bar room.

They're fully booked on a Saturday evening, but we're able to sit at the bar. Curried pumpkin soup and braised pot roast were extremely delicious. I found the caesar dressing a little weak but not bad.
Overall, it was a pleasant experience!

My husband an I have been here 4 times now and every time the food is AMAZING! We've never had any complaints at all. Until tonight. He surprised me with dinner here this Valentine's Day. He called ahead of time.....twice and was told we didn't need a reservation. When we got there, guess what? We needed a reservation. We were able to sit at the bar and eat after waiting for seats. Wasn't a bad experience. As a matter of fact, I had a wonderful evening talking to the other couples at the bar. We seemed to be the entertainment of the evening with my husband's account of how we met and got married. All I'm saying is please be sure you get the right information when calling ahead!! We got the pork Milenese with French beans and house salad. Again, the food was AMAZING! Dessert is wonderful too. I've had the lavender creme Brule and tiramisu. Both delectable!! They don't short the liquor when making drinks either. You get your money's worth in everything!

Tonight was my wife and my first time at the Press Room. We were celebrating our anniversary. This was one of the best meals that I have ever had. We both enjoyed everything so much. Great job, Press Room! Our home is an hour's drive away, but we will be back!

This place is GREAT! Everything was fresh and prices were low/fair. The Berry Pasta is a perfect summer dish, the beet salad was generously portioned as was the lamb, and the cozy setting made for a nice night. Sherry was our server and she was kind and chatty. We were lucky to get a same-day reservation. Go and enjoy.

The food was delicious. Pictured is the pork cutlet and the raspberry chicken. We also had the shrimp and cannellini bean appetizer and the tiramisu (they were my favorite part of the meal!). Their pothos/philodendron entryway was a plant lovers dream. 🥰 the service was amazing as well.

It was a great experience. Good food, good service (Liz was a treat), and such nice ambiance. It's small, so make sure to make reservations, but it's worth a trip to Shepherdtown for dinner at The Press Room.

The food is perfectly prepared and nicely presented. Portions are gracious.

This is a home feeling spot. I love library touch, small and cozy.
I was in WV for my birthday and my boyfriend took me there for dinner and omg the food is everything. I'm so picky my bf was shocked that I loved the food so much. I was impressed it's a jem for sure.

We were in town for a romantic weekend and googled oysters near me. I am so happy we found this gem. The service was outstanding, the oysters were top notch. The bluefish and lingonberry spread was wow!!!! The Moscow mule was great, and we were able to reminisce our trip to Italy with the Aperol spritz’s. We hope to come back and have a proper meal not just apps.

Excellent food and service, comfortable seating. When we entered I knew we were in for a treat because of the smell of great cooking. The server even offered me a spaghetti spoon, being Italian I appreciated that. This the best restaurant that I have encountered in years.
