The J Bar Davenport

Had a great experience here. We’ve been several times and always enjoyed ourselves. We were a party of 7 and the
server was able to take care of us really well! Good and drinks were great!

I saw some of the food pictures from J Bar on google maps and thought they looked good. That's literally the only reason I decided to come here. I had no idea they were attached to a Holiday Inn, not that it would have put me off of coming.

Speaking of being located directly adjacent to a Holiday Inn, I was very surprised at the size of this restaurant. There's not only a sizeable outdoor patio, but the interior dining space is pretty massive and varied. There's some seating at the bar, high top table immediately adjacent to it, then about two fairly large rooms of normal table seating beyond that before the restaurant transitions to the hotel. Greyish tan ceramic tile lines the entire floor of the space, while lighting is supplied from a combination of recessed and suspended fixtures, as well as a multi-color changing thing in the ceiling above the bar. All the furnishings seem new and modern with the overall ambiance of what would be expected from a relatively new hotel bar.

For my food, I opted for the herbed fries and the tavern burger. I thoroughly enjoyed both. The burger was just a solid burger, one you might enjoy in many other bar settings. The herbed fries, however, I'd come back for many times. One of the things I liked about them the most was the truffle ketchup. Many times I order truffle fries when I'm out, only to regret getting them immediately after due to too much truffle seasoning being used. With the truffle portion of things in the ketchup, however, it was far easier to control the amount of truffle funk applied to each fry. The added pesto oil and other accoutrement on my fried potatoes were delightful additions that were subsequently also not overpowered by truffle.

The service and overall atmosphere was fantastic throughout the meal. My bartender checked in numerous times and was always quick to refill my drink. Between the three TVs present in the space and the relatively quiet music, I enjoyed the relatively low sound level throughout my visit.

I'd definitely consider coming here again, perhaps to try other things on the menu. It feels a little strange to visit a restaurant attached to a hotel, but it's good enough to overcome that small discomfort. Thanks, J Bar!

Tonight was my first visit. I went with the Korean Bowl ($20): Kimchi Broth, Seared Tuna, Sunny-Side Up Egg, Korean Noodles, Vegetables. It was good fresh food in a classy atmosphere and plenty of other delicious looking options to choose from. Bartender was friendly and service was quick. I'll be back as soon as I get a chance.

Was there for my birthday and had an appetizer and a drink before going out. The jalapeño fondue with pretzel chips was delicious. When we got back we stopped for a drink before closing time. The bar tenders couldn't have been cooler and were very accommodating. I will definitely be coming back any time that I am in the area!

PHENOMINAL food! Here on business and after my first night, I won’t be leaving this hotel for dinner. Excellent beer selection too! Looking forward to heading back here again in two weeks!

My Wife and I were on our way to Iowa State and stopped for the night. Our Hotel front desk clerk recommended the J bar and gave us drink vouchers. They were the best Cheeseburgers we have had in years! Perfectly cooked burgers and homemade fries. SPOT ON! I had buffalo wings as well and they were fantastic! Going to make every excuse I can to stop in Davenport.
Looking at the menu, there is nothing I wouldn't love to try.

I loved the Steak. The Reserved table for our 13 fallen servicemen and woman was awesome to see ,Respect! Great Job!

Wonderful place to hang out and have some drinks. The food menu is great too. The Salmon is well seasoned and Tender. The Jalapeno Fondue is a great starter. Kyrsten and Laken are awesome bartenders, they make you feel welcome and are not just great hosts but also make good drinks as well.

First time at The J Bar - I really wanted the Sunday weekly feature which was Grilled Cheese and Chili, but the chili said chipotle and I don't like hot things, so I was apprehensive to order it... but I really wanted it lol. The bartender, Judy, heard my dilemma and went and got a sample of the chili for me to try to make sure I liked it before I ordered it! I liked it and ordered it and meal was fireeeeee. So freaking good!!!! Judy gave me exceptional service and I also met the manager, Daniel. I was definitely impressed all around and I will for sure be back!!!!

I ordered a sirloin steak with mashed potatoes and green beans. It was very tasty. The steak was seasoned perfectly, the potatoes were amazing as well. And the wait staff was excellent, very prompt and courteous.

My father was in town visiting, we stopped in several times this week during his visit.
Broderick the bartender was amazing. Wine knowledge and menu knowledge steered you the right direction everytime.
The manager was so nice and friendly. Just a wonderful time there! Thank you!

I ate at the J Bar with a group of friend's last night and everything was phenomenal!
Started with the Cheesesteak Eggrolls which were probably my favorite of everything we had. We also had the Shumai Dumpling and Caprese Flatbread both were great. Finished with the Chicken Sandwich. Service was great, and I will defiantly be coming back often.

First time dining at The J Bar. The service was great and the food was better. Great rich taste and wonderful food portions. Enough to fill each person in our party but not too much. The egg rolls were amazing. I could have made a meal out of them. The environment was very business but romantic at the same time.

Had just left another establishment that we could not get waited on and decided to try the J Bar instead. They felt so bad for our experience at the other place that they went above and beyond to show us a great evening. Food was outstanding and service was beyond outstanding. Our server was Raquel who gave us the best experience I have had in a long time. The manager Erin was equal to Raquel in her care for us to have a great and memorable evening, her intention was to wipe from our memory the bad experience at the other establishment and she accomplished what she set out to do. If I could give 10 stars I would. I highly recommend the J Bar for your evening out and if your fortunate enough to get these two to take care of you, you will see exactly what I mean.

Went to celebrate my late birthday dinner. My first time ever stopping in and will definitely be back! Our server Laken was on point with everything and very attentive and the food was sooo good!! Wish the jalapeño fondue had a little more spice, but I'll just ask them to add some of the Sriracha sauce to it when I come back again. The portions for the fondue and Korean noodle bowl were HUGE and the dumplings were absolutely amazing. See you guys again soon!! ~Audi 🐦

Great drink selection of mixed drinks, beer and wine. Good size pours. We had one of the best cheese plates around. Entrees were delicious as well . Great food and portions for the money .Our waiter Tyler was very attentive . We'll be back!

Our server Nyana was great and Daniel was the most hospitable and courteous person I have encountered. Fun and delicious drinks & food. We'll definitely be back!

We were in Bettendorf for a baseball tournament and The J Bar accommodated our group of 30 people with no issues. Service was fantastic- Raquel was an amazing server. All of the food came out promptly, hot and the presentation was impressive as well. All of our cocktails were expertly made from the beginning of our meal up through our time relaxing on their outdoor patio while the kids played cornhole. We can't say enough about how happy we were with our experience.
