The Super Museum

Awesome find. This place is a Superman fans absolute dream. From retro merch and toys to costumes, outfits and wigs wore by Christopher Reeves and Dean Cain. I walked around a few times in just pure heaven. The places it's located as well in Metropolis town square is brilliant. The building itself is beautiful and worth plenty photo ops. Don't forget to walk just down the street and get a photo with the Lois Lane statue and of course the HUGE Superman statue just outside the Super Museum. Love it, would highly recommend for any Super fan

A must see for any comic book fan.
What started as one person’s private collection has spilled out into the street and taken over this charming small town. The museum is located right in the heart of the town square. You won’t miss it. Larger than life statues. Brightly colored murals. So many photo opportunities dedicated to the world's first modern superhero. (Don’t miss out on the Lois Lane statue at the far end of the street.)
And then you get to the actual collection. This place is jam packed. There’s a modest admission fee, but there is so much to see. The Last Son of Krypton has a rich media history. I’m sure you’ll find something you want in the gift shop. Staff was very nice & helpful. Go early to avoid crowds.They have a lot of public events adding to the fun. There are hotels, restaurants, parks & campsites to round out the trip into a nice vacation. Take the kids, let them dress up as their favorite hero for a day to remember.

Highly entertaining and packed with Rich Superman history and memorabilia. It is very worth the visit! Watch out for Batman lurking in the shadows and aliens in the corners, lol!

It was so cool to see all the Superman Memorabilia that this person has collected over the years. Had some really cool stuff to buy as well. Definitely worth a stop if you are in the area.

We loved the museum! It only costed 8 bucks a person! So much cool stuff inside to see! There is also really cool stores around that you can walk to! Everyone working in the super store and around were all so nice!

Great gift shop/novelty store with the Superman museum. Friendly informative proprietor. The store is packed with comic book and other cartoon media items and a good concentration of Superman gifts. Definitely worth the short drive off the highway to take a look.

So much fun! There is a lot of amazing history and cool things to see all over the town, but this is definitely the highlight! We try and stop here every time we’re headed to Nashville

1st time here. Definitely stop in and look around if in the area. Tons of parking available around the area. There’s a penny press machine inside too, with four different ones to pick from. Restroom also available inside.

We loved this museum!! They have everything from every single Superman genre!! We really enjoyed seeing how they changed over the years!! If you're a Super Man or a DC fan, you have to stop here!! Even the outside of the building is really cool. This whole town is just really cool and nostalgic!! We loved our time here!!!

Really cool store and museum. The store has all kinds of Superman memorable. If you are visiting the Superman statue, make sure to visit the store and museum. The museum costs $8 to enter. I did not pay the $8, so I am not able to say if it was worth it or not. So glad I had the opportunity to stop and check this store out.

As a lifelong fan of Superman, it was a dream come true to come to his "hometown."
The gift shop is great. So much Superman merchandise, including some pretty rare or exclusive things!
The museum is a little hap-hazard, but absolutely FILLED with everything related to the Man of Steel!
Christopher Reeves cape, Kirk Allen's Superman costume, and Perry White's desk from Adventures of Superman are all on display, as well as just about EVERYTHING that Superman ever had his name on.
The huge statue is very cool, and a short walk takes you to a statue of Lois, commemorating Noel Neill!
Staff was super (no pun intended) friendly and helpful.
Worth the trip to any fan of the Metropolis Marvel!!

Fantastic little museum to the original superhero! An especially cool place to visit if you're a fan of the early movies, as there are tons of props from those.

Took a day trip to Metropolis (how awesome is that) to check out the Super(man) museum and store. They are dog friendly so you can bring your little buddy along. Wasn't sure what expect, burnt was very surprised how much they have in there. A lot of costumes from the movies and the shows. Lots of neat background information in the museum.

Wow can I say wow! I loved Superman comics and the old TV show as a kid. This place is amazing! It is being renovated currently at a discounted admission but still plenty to see. Everything from original costumes, photos, toys and more. The owners gave us detailed information about the original wool costume. Lots of photos ops and cool souvenirs. I could have chatted for hours. Lots of good places to grab a bite nearby. Don't miss this place if you are in the area. Worth a drive for.

There was no wait and it is only $8.00 for one adult ticket! They also have a Gift shop connected to it that is EVERYTHING Superman! A must-see if you're visiting Metropolis.

The Superman Museum in Metropolis, IL was a fun experience. On our little road trip we saw and advertisement for the World Largest Superman Statue and Museum was a bonus.

Only $8, worth twice that much. Been saving since 1959 to make this museum.
