Rich's Record and Audio

I wish this was my local record store! They have a good selection of new and used albums. The new stuff seemed priced fairly compared to other shops. The old stuff seemed priced better than other places I’ve shopped. They seem to price albums based on condition of the whole package, which means you can get nice vinyl with a lesser slip cover for a fantastic price. The albums were organized in a fashion that made sense and were easy to find. Plus they have plenty of discount $1 and $3 albums. The thing that separates this store from most is the selection of vintage audio equipment and their repair service. The staff are very knowledgeable about this and happy to discuss your needs/wants. Of course they have new turntables and speakers too, but the old stuff is just so cool! The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming; music (jazz during my visit) was of moderate volume, walls covered with albums/memorabilia and showcases with rare and obscure items. I’m very glad I made an effort to stop here. A very cool place to spend some time if you’re into records.

Really enjoyed my (first) visit to Rick's. Was treated like a guest, opposed to random customer. They have good selection of mostly new records and an exceptional lineup of turntables. They happily demoed all that I asked to hear. What a great, "real word" listening room.

I had some old albums to sell that were my mother's. They treated me very fairly, and I would definitely give them my business in the future.

This place really took care of me! Took in my old turntable and was basically told that it was in serious shape. Tim cleaned it up, went out of his way to get me parts I needed, and even shaved off some of his labor. Results: this turntable has never sounded better and I am thoroughly enjoying my my albums again! Thanks to Tim and Rich’s Audio Emporium!

Good small independent shop with a focus on audiophile equipment. Nice record selection too. Worth a detour from the usual St. Louis area shops. They do an excellent job on turntable setups, sometimes even as quick as it takes to browse some of the vinyl & CDs in the store.

I have to say wowwwwww!!!! The best of the midwest.... If you need to buy an stereo or equipment this store has it all, they are incredible I just bought form them and yes it took a little while to arrive and because it was my first interaction I was a little nervous about the process, they sipped my preamp from SFO CA direct from the Parasound Factory, and the parasound preamplifier is all whet they toold me and more, now I need to adjusted to my taste... A really good place to find new and used vinyls. The owners were extremely nice. Much better deals on vinyls than big chain stores. They also repair old turntables and sell new sound equipment.

Great first visit to Rich's! I needed a new cartridge and needle for my old turntable. We discussed the choices, and settled on a cartridge. He completely cleaned the turntable and installed with a new head. The price was reasonable and the work was precise and efficient. I will return soon for a new receiver and, soon after, speakers. Thanks!!

Small cozy record store with a nice used section. Fun to find quirky gems in the dollar or three dollar shelf. I got a Readers Digest Classic Standards box set there for a dollar. Never been played and had 8 pristine records of jazz standards. Still have a decent amount of RSD releases. Staff is nice and helpful.

Update: I called the store yesterday 4 years after purchasing my turntable with a sound issue. I'm assuming it was the owner picked up, diagnosed the problem with a very simple solution within a couple minutes, and saved me from purchasing a whole new receiver. This place goes above and beyond in helping their customers!

UPDATED: Still having great experiences here. Solid recommendations and overall great product. Have a new set of the Triangle LN01A Speakers and they are awesome.

I love Rich's Record Emporium. Not only is there a solid selection of good vinyl but they also have the nicest, most knowledgeable people to help out with pro audio equipment. The product is top notch and so is the sincere advice on what to get at a price point that fits. Highly recommended!

Stopped in the store while passing through Collinsville and was pleasantly surprised. Nice selection of vinyl. Everything I purchased was vintage and it was fairly priced. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the store to friends.

All I can say about this store is that it is AWESOME!!!! I have a lower end turntable; Tim talked to me about how I could make it much better. I was sold. I did some research; I ended up purchasing a Ortophon Blue headshell and an Ortophon Blue cartridge from them. Same Price as Internet..... These folks know Vinyl and Turntables. My lowly turntable was "woken up" and sounds AWESOME! Tim and the rest of the Guys that work there are top notch. I purchase a LOT of used vinyl here. If there is a problem.... They give me store credit. I will always shop here before a big box for any vinyl or a turntable. Just talk with them; they are not trying to sell anything; they love music and are willing to discuss ways to enhance your listening experience. LOVE THIS PLACE!!!!

Had a great time looking through the records here. Loved the variety and the selection of cheaper used records. The guy who runs it was really friendly and knowledgeable. Definitely worth a visit if you are into vinyl and don't want to drive all the way to St. Louis.

I love this record store! I took a record that I had some things wrong with it and they cleaned it for free and let me play it on their equipment. They have a very nice selection of old and new vinyl and equipment. The man working there (Rich) was very friendly also.

Best record shop in Madison county!!!! Rich sells them excellent first presses and remasters. Top notch equipment and .....he is a star trek fan!!!!

Any time im in this record shop, they treat me with the up most respect. The employees help you out if youre looking for a certain type of record. Great variety as well. I approve of any record shop where you can find original copies of the Beatles and Springsteen. Ive spent upward of $100 in this shop. Love love love it
