American Legion Post 47

Stopped by for breakfast on a Sunday around 10:20. Got a table right away, and the server brought our drinks in a timely manner. They offer a breakfast buffet or ordering off a menu. The six of us chose to order off the menu. Our food came out in a timely manner and it was delicious! Thick cut bacon and crispy hash browns. Yummy!
Service was great and so was the food. We will definitely come back if we are in the area.

We really like the bartenders and waitress staff! The Reuben eggrolls are unbelievable. They should be entered into a contest anywhere in the country and it would win. Approximately 20 minutes or so drive from the main part of the Twin Cities, so it’s worth a few extra minutes to get the best view and a good vibe on the outdoor patio. The inside portion is a typical older Legion but it’s still good. The outdoor patio, view, and food is fantastic. I’m a fan and you will be too. We drive 30 minutes a lot because of this place. I have so many other options closer but it’s worth the drive. I get a top shelf Margarita, no salt, splash of Grenadine with an orange slice. They make it perfect.

We came here for a friend's dinner rehearsal and enjoyed a taco bar. We received good service at the bar and the food hit the spot. What made it all better is that I know I'm not in the wedding tomorrow, so that's 5 stars from me!

A Hastings gem! Closer to the river than anyone else - great views even if the bride traffic is a bit noisy. We did the Monday night build a burger right before the kitchen closed. It was fun to see the wait staff keeping up with all the burger options, as well as onion ring and tater tot substitutions. Everything was above bar food quality - surprisingly great food from nachos to burgers. Lonely Blonde was the featured tap special and was a great pairing. The patio lights were kept off, reducing the potential for skeets, making for a fun ambiance.

Had a reservation for a Saturday night so no waiting. Waitress was quick, helpful, and pleasant. 3 of us and tried chicken, fish tacos, and strawberry salad. All were happy with our food. View was outstanding as we sat on patio at sunset. Love to go back.

Pet friendly patio with a great view of the mighty Mississippi River to go with your food and beverage of choice. Nice place for bird watching along the Mississippi flyway.

Great Food, sweet potato fries so good. Great view of Hastings Bridge and Mississippi River.

If you are looking for massive portions and excellent food and excellent service, this is a go to. We had the patty melt and the Reuben, and they were wonderful. The service is top notch and the onion rings are not to be skipped. We will definitely be back MANY times. Had breakfast this morning.... The food is fantastic. And very very filling.

Great deck. Good basic food.

Four of us had lunch at AL for Mom's Day. My mom had a plain burger, Dad had chili, my husband had a side salad with a Reuben, and I had the quinoa salad with chicken and roasted vegetables. All were very pleased with the food and excellent service. Plus, we had a window table with a view of the river and Levee Park. We will be back again soon. Hastings is a great escape from the Twin Cities.

This place was amazing! I came here to visit family and we happened to choose to eat here. The view of the river and bridge was wonderful, even in the winter. My favorite part though was the food! This is one of those hidden gems that is absolutely wonderful when it comes to food. The fried cheese curds were delicious, the onion rings were huge, and the burgers were cooked really good! I definitely recommend this place to those that haven't been. An absolute gem!

Everyone is really friendly and polite here. Great patio view. Has umbrellas and you can see everything . also perfect pricing. Great breakfast. All the seniors in the morning are nice and polite as well. Why go to Perkins when it's better here.

Allison is the best most friendliest waitress there is. Food has gotten better, but hostess needs to step it up in regards to sitting outside on saved or reservations pending. Weve been told twice that tables were booked ouside and sat inside and watched the tables sit empty the whole time we were there.

Food and service was great today. My burger was cooked perfectly and had a lot of flavor and loaded with mushrooms, onions, cheese, and bacon! I was very happy! It was a beautiful day to sit out on the patio.

We had sworn of the legion for years, between the mediocre food and terrible service we had no desire to come back, until this past weekend, our server Megan was absolutely phenomenal with her fun sarcastic energetic attitude and her ability to serve basically the whole dining room and still give us great service, it was such a nice change from the legion we used to know. Definitely the only reason we will be back! Love to see this place on the up and up!

I recently went to the Hastings Legion as a stop on my bachelorette bus. It was amazing! The staff were extremely friendly, fun and attentive. My water was never low and the appetizers were great. They were welcoming to my large group and we had a great time.

Love sitting on the River on a nice night having good food and a drink!
