Bangor International Airport

Super small airport, takes less than 10 minutes from arrival to get to gate. Very nice.

Impressive airport! Plenty of neat planes coming around including military, cargo, and lots of private flights. (Antonov An-124 pictured as seen from the road leading to the Bangor Fire training facility off of Odlin Rd)

Best airport in the country? I’ve been through here several times, to visit family in Sanford Florida and it’s never busy.

You can arrive 20 minutes before boarding and still be 15 minutes early 😂

This last time I set a timer to see how long it took to get through TSA security.

They took my license, scanned my belongings, patted me down, I put on my shoes, and I’m still under five minutes! Best airport.

Contrary to popular opinion, everything was fine including the handlers and immigration officers, they did their job and were friendly about it.

BIA is a great airport! Super friendly staff and TSA workers. It’s a smaller airport, so the prices also reflect the size - there are still great rental car options, even some food and a little shop to enjoy. I didn’t mind the convenient location and the slower, laid back culture.

Great service and nicest airport security I’ve seen! They check throughly but are very friendly and professional. We brought lobster meat home for gift in a cooler. Needless to say they had to open the cooler to make sure the ice was still frozen. And they taped it back for us nicely after checking!

This small airport is clean and efficient. I have been here a few times and didn't run into the absurdly long and often chaotic lines that plague larger airports. There is a cafe with food and a souvenir shop in the general waiting area as well as a small shop and vending machines in the gate areas. They also have a small play area in the gate area if you have small children. There is also unique looking seating along the walls that allow you to charge and work on your laptop.

Overall a good experience as far as airports go.

I definitely like the small airport atmosphere better than the bigger airports! Loved how kid friendly it is!

Small, uncrowded airport with minimal surrounding traffic. Easy car rental. The several TSA officers I encountered were all very friendly and professional, which is appreciated. There are few meal options, but assuming people don't connect through Bangor, one can be in town in about 5 minutes.

This is the friendliest airport I’ve ever been to. From the delta check in to TSA, such a good, easy experience. I’m not used to not being shoved and rushed through and this airport was a pleasant unexpected experience, especially at 5:30 in the morning when people tend to be less awake and not as friendly. We arrived at 4:45 for a 6 am flight. We were the only people going through security with our 4 year old. Literally everyone working TSA said hello to all of us, even those on the other side who weren’t helping us said good morning and gave my daughter a sticker. Airport was clean, and a little breakfast/coffee/snack place was open at 5 am with some healthy options. Love this tiny airport!

It was a very small airport The people was friendly and the weather welcome me here with an abundance of snow ❄.

Nice, open, clean, calm layout---always! Friendly, helpful people...easy to park...one of the best smaller airports in the US...in my experience... Hotel on premises is a nice bonus! 😎

Small easy to navigate airport, very efficient staff. Security was quick, even early in the morning. Checked bags were on the carousel by the time I arrived at baggage claim. Love flying into Bangor!

Tiny airport. 1 restaurant and 1 gift shop outside TSA. 1 cafe & 1 small gift shop inside gate area. Friendly TSA agents.

Small and quick! I was sitting at my gate and having a drink within 10 minutes of being dropped off! But like any airport, make sure you give yourself at least an hour just in case the security line is a little slow.

This is a great little airport with a play area after security and before! Great way for the littles to get some wiggles out

Wonderful Airport. Nice people at gates. Nice folks at car rental. Easy to navigate.

I will 10/10 always fly out of Bangor if I’m able. I drive from Canada to fly out of there because I find it much less chaotic and overwhelming than any of the airports close to where I live.
Airport staff is fast & friendly, also super organized & efficient. Especially noticeable when flying through United airlines, in my experience thus far.
