Lock & Dam Eatery

Well, we didn't know what to expect from the place, but we've been dying to try it for a while now. My Fiance and I walked in and were sat right away by a lady who appeared to be a server. Shortly after being sat Rachel stopped by and introduced herself and asked if we wanted drinks etc. We ordered drinks, and the firecracker Buffalo shrimp so we could look over the menu a bit more since we hadn't visited this restaurant before.

The firecracker shrimp came up pretty fast and they were absolutely delicious. I knew from the service and the firecracker shrimp that we were in for a great night here. So my other half ordered the lobster sauce fettuccine, and I ordered the walleye. In between the time we waited for our food to come we were reading up on the history of this little honey pot. We saw they changed names a few times and decided to mix the Italian eatery with the Mexican dishes to make this place a success.

We met a gentleman who has worked there for a while and he encouraged us to read the story on the menu and assured us we would love the food at Lock and Dam. Also, the wonderful Emma graced us with her presence, she seemed to know a lot about the restaurant. Emma we also very friendly, funny, and helpful. I cannot say enough about how wonderful these people were who served us, especially Emma and Rachel.

The food was very delicious just as I had hoped it would be. My other half was very pleased and so was I. This place has won our hearts, the next time we visit we are going to try the igloo dining, with the food being that great and accompanied by great service we can't lose. Thank you Lock and Dam for making our first visit a very enjoyable one, we will return soon.

Food and drinks were great. The mules were very good. I got the fried cod tacos and they were very good. My BF got the burger with blue cheese. We were seated right away and the drinks came fast. There were no issues at all.

Excellent meal and service. The steak gorgonzola was buttery soft. The Mexican lasagna had a little heat to it. Nice atmosphere. Right next to the public under bridge parking in the historic district. Has outdoor seating.

I love the atmosphere here. We sat outside and got a couple appetizers and drinks. They had mojitos on special and they were really good! I had to get two, the dragonberry and coconut - they were refreshing and light. The cheese curds had the perfect amount of breading on them. I moved to North Carolina and you don’t get cheese curds like this it was amazing.

Totally delicious dinner. Had a fantastic time with our family for a get together meal. Everything was fresh and bright. Totally adored the Italian nachos, the walleye, the two specials - Greek pasta and chicken wraps. The chicken parmesan was spot on. Shared the tiramisu which was the best I've ever had in Minnesota. Definitely a diamond.

Consistently delicious food and wonderful service. This is our go to meeting place and today, once again, didn’t disappoint. Amanda, our sweet server, was so attentive and friendly. Our party of four all had different dishes, and all of us were happy with our choices, from fish tacos, beef tacos, a chicken wrap, and lobster bisque soup. Spot on! We can’t wait to go back.

Great place, wonderful service. The chips and triple dip are excellent. I had the steak fajitas. They were soooo good! (But,ask for a bigger table if you know you are getting the fajitas.) 😊 We sat at 2 person table and it wasn't big enough. My husband ordered the chicken chimichanga. He wishes he would have ordered the shredded chicken. Highly recommend to go to!

This place checked all of our boxes when we are looking for somewhere to eat after hiking near Hastings.

Great service, reasonable prices, delicious food. The staff was very friendly. Even though it was a pretty busy Sunday lunch hour, our food came out fast, and hot. It's hard to find somewhere that had a menu my whole family likes. I have celiac and cannot eat gluten. One of my daughters is vegan, and the other is really picky. Lots of choices for everyone. I could not have the French fries as they use the same fryer for everything.

The chips and homemade guac were good. I had the enchiladas on corn tortillas ( you pick you choice of meat and sauces). It came with rice, refried beans, lettuce, and salsa. Really good.
2 people got the homemade soup of the day which was a shrimp & corn chowder.

The drinks were ok, just not very strong. (Margarita & bloody Mary.)

We would definitely return here if we're ever in the area.

We walked through some of the shops in Hastings. Some were closed on Sunday.

Igloo Dinning!! So much fun, what a unique experience super cool. The food was all very good quite a variety on the menu, should please everyone in your group. Service was excellent!

We came at lunch. The service was great and the drinks fantastic! There was a lot of gluten free food on the menu. We had the gringo Nachos and we are definitely coming back!

Absolutely love this place! Have been here many times & the staff & the food have always been amazing! Highly recommend stopping in! The location is unbeatable as well!!

Terrific location, delicious food, great service. Enjoyed a Kentucky Vanilla Barrel Cream Ale on tap, and the pot stickers appetizer while taking in the amazing views of the river from the patio.

We visited this location for breakfast last week and sat in front by the river. The food was absolutely amazing! We struck up a great conversation with the hostess and our server and had a wonderful experience. We will definitely visit this location again!

Lock and dam provided above and beyond service for 2 moms & 3 kids just trying to enjoy a fun lunch out! We adore the staff & food here. Thank you for making us feel so welcome!

What's not to love here. Chips and Salsa are fantastic and come in a cool little wagon. I absolutely love the Sirloin Gorgonzola. Igloos outside look like a great time for a group. This is a must stop when visiting Hastings!

Really great food, cheese curds were very good and pricing was decent. We will definitely come back.

The patio was small, but never felt crowded. Great staff and great service!

Lovely spot, great patio over looking the Mississippi river, in lovely downtown Hastings. Blended cuisine menu that features American, Mexican & Italian dishes. Food was nice portion sizes & cooked well. The atmosphere is clean & has a little cozy vibe that is reminiscent of a modern uptempo bistro. The drink selections were in keeping with the rest of the vibe. Charming service! So personable! Went back for another visit and even more pleased than before #awesome

Was visiting some friends half way (them from MN and I from Milwaukee) and we decided to try out Lock & Dam. The food was fantastic as was the service!

Will definitely have to stop by here again!

We ate in the igloo. Very warm and private. I had a Mexican plate, and my friend had a burger; both were good. Drinks were tasty. The server was new, but he did a great job. Bartender was super friendly and made an extra effort to come check on us. I didn't realize we had to spend $100, so we ended up with a gift card. We plan to return again soon!
