This place was a random find while I was out running errands and wow, what a gem. The food is absolutely delicious; I had their beef and Al Pastor tacos with their house salsa and sides of their habanero hot sauce, all of which were top notch. The décor is really cute as well, and the service was very polite and pleasant. Would absolutely recommend.

Incredibly nice people. The pupusas are excellent. I highly recommend the squash & cheese version.

With each new visit, the food continues to get better. The “Holy Moly Guacamole” is outrageously tasty.

I was looking for Mexican food. Saw this had great reviews, so decide to check it out.
This place is in a strip mall, so I wasn't sure what to expect.
But don't let the strip mall scare you away. The food and service here are fantastic. I got three steak tacos with rice and beans, as well as chips and salsa. Also, to point out, they are not skimpy on the portions.
You really should check it out. I will for sure be coming back again soon

Have lived in Oak Park for a year and finally tried the place everyone talks about! Delicious, great portions, homemade, lucky to have this in the neighborhood! Their refried beans are vegetarian which is perfect and hard to find. Will be back!

Buena Fe has been recommended to me by numerous people since I moved to Oak Park. I finally got the opportunity to dine in, and I was not disappointed. The fresh salsa was good, the enchiladas were delicious as were the steak tacos. They were very busy and understaffed on a Friday night but we still received quality service and our server was very nice. If you're looking for something different, try the pupusas! The prices are very reasonable too! We'll be back!

This was my first time ordering from here. The food is authentic & tastes great. I ordered the steak taco dinner w/ a side of guac & horchata to go with it. No complaints. Everything was delicious & the lady that helped me with my takeout order was very nice. I will definitely be back 😋

OMG! This place is sooo good! The guac (see pic) is amazing and I'm not a fan of guac typically. I got the chicken fajitas (pic) and loved them. Alexandra was a super-nice server. Too bad I don't live in the area.

Lunch was a Salvadoran meal Pupusas (a type of tortilla) one with zucchini and cheese the other with a flower (forgot the name of it) and cheese. Beans rice, cabbage and a sauce. Very delicious and filling I couldn't eat even half of it. I will definitely return to try other items on the menu. Service was excellent very friendly, informative and patient (we had lots of questions).

Great neighborhood place for Mexican and Salvadoran food. Love these family own places because they show they care about you.
Prices are low for the amount you get. The Panes Rellenos was incredibly good

Some who loves cooking is in the kitchen! Our waitress was the sweetest. Everything we ordered was amazing. This is home-cooked with love, not frozen chain restaurant items! We have added Buena Fe to our favorite list! Very excited and pleased! 🤗

My son has been telling me about this place for a few weeks. After working together calling youth basketball games on Saturday we decided to go there for dinner. The food was excellent! You can not beat the quality v the price at virtually any establishment similar in style of food. Note: The Beef Soup is outstanding! You will not be disappointed!

This is authentic. There is Mexican and Salvadoran cuisine (El Salvador is in Central America). The owners are very nice and the place is clean and cheery with some colorful paper decorations.
I have gotten takeout and dined in. A great place.

I have a difficult time in restaurants and had a bit of an autistic meltdown the first time I came here. The staff was really nice to me about it though, and the food is absolutely incredible. It’s very affordable, as well. They definitely have me as a regular, now!

Underrated hidden gem. Delicious food at very reasonable prices. Get the chicken sandwich (Panes Rellenos).
