I have never in my life had care like this in an emergency room. I had moved here about 6 months prior and have never been to this ER. I grew up outside of Boston going to some of the "best hospitals that the country offered." When I say I was flabbergasted by the treatment here, I mean it. People in the waiting area were complaining about the wait, when in reality we were all receiving care while in the waiting room. Tests were being run, vitals checked, all the things so that when the main doctor saw us, it'll all be taken care of. The PA did a fantastic job of assessing everyone and getting treatments started for them while they waited. When I was in Massachusetts, it was common to wait about 5-6 hours (on a good night), not having your vitals taken once. Given a container to barf in and just waiting patiently for your chance to tell anyone what was going on. There was times where I was stuck in the waiting room for 8 hours in so much pain I couldn't bare it. I want to be as sensitive as I can about this, but I've seen people bleeding, screaming in agony, and almost unconscious, waiting with the rest of us. Truly, I am so surprised in the best possible way to have been treated with dignity here. The physician really took the time to listen to my concerns, assess me, ask questions, even felt my back to figure out it was very spasmed! I've never in my life had an ER doctor listen to me, answer my questions, or even touch an area that was in pain. From start to finish, it took less time than it would have to just see a nurse in a Boston area hospital (my friends could not believe how fast it was!). If you think this place is bad, I hope you never find yourself in a hospital out of this state. I hope to never find myself in an ER again, but I am also very comforted knowing that if I do the nicest staff I have ever met will be there ready to help. Thank you all again.

We had to go to the ER for stitches on our one year old. Everyone from
The security guards, check in staff, nursing staff, and doctors were very professional, warm, and explained everything very well. They updated us in the plan, wait time, and gave us great explanations and expectations of the medical care and plan. It was a busy day full of traumas but they kept us informed and moved us through in a very timely manner. The hospital was very clean and comfortable. Our daughter needed sedation and they did a great job and I felt comfortable the whole time.

While going through the emergency entrance, there didn't appear to be any emergency from the staff.

I have several negative experiences such as a security guard threatening to call police on a three year old, misdiagnosis of shingles when I actually had lyme disease. They diagnosed me with emphysema; another misdiagnosis. I was gasping due to severe neck pain with bone on bone C4 and C5 vertebrae.

That waiting room set up is a vast HIPPA violation with diagnosis and treatment being discussed in the waiting area.

The surgery area went well but nurse's try to be like cops .drug deals in a shared room that I told them that happened and had open heart surgery . . Then refused to give me my alergie medicine who's accountable for these head nurse's. Not everyone is a drug addict. Like they think. Sad state of affairs when you are really sick and need comfort . I will have to suffer through my alergie because they think something different the night shift with Angie and Derek sure are unreasonable .
I Will say that on the last day of the stay I was treated like a bad person my stay was good until the last day .
Everyone was fine until this.
EMMC needs to be compashonet to people who pays for there salary.
I was the person who brought it to there attention about some junkie family coming here and nodding off and talking about drugs and stabbings.
Yes scared and they don't care

two people who like to take things into there own hands give this place a bad rapore

4 hours in the emergency room so far. We have been stuck in the hallway, I guess we aren't important enough to be in a room. Staff is rude.

DO NOT RECOMMEND! Go anywhere but here! Took my friend here...she had been very ill for 5 days...could not keep anything down...she was shaking and could barely sit in a wheelchair. She had a trash bag she had brought with her to vomit in. They sat her in the waiting room and nurses and Doctors walked by her repeatedly...never offered a blue vomit bag or anything...while taking in other patients in much better shape than her. So much for triage. They spent millions of dollars on the main entrance to this hospital. When you walk in to this ER it looks like your walking in to the 1960's. Shame on them!

Staff was competent enough, but I was very disappointed with the level of care, especially for the cost. I was taken there by ambulance, barely conscious, not able to stay awake and feeling very ill. I was unable to use the phone myself due to my condition and no one even called my emergency contact to let her know I was there. I was left in the waiting room in a wheelchair and only pulled into rooms for brief periods, once to get a quick EKG, once to talk to the PA and the last to get nausea medication. It took them hours to give me the needed nausea medication after the PA prescribed it and was told I'd get food by the PA to help me recover, but they never brought anything. I was there for around 5 hours and spent most of that time feeling really sick and extremely uncomfortable, but barely able to speak or move. No one even bothered to come and see if I needed water or assistance getting to the restroom. I wasn't able to get anything or use the restroom until my wife finally figured out where I was by the find-my-phone feature and came to see me. When she got there she couldn't believe how awful I looked, slumped over and empty of color - she took a picture just to be able to show me later how sick I looked. $450 for maybe 15 minutes with a PA and the rest of the time sitting slumped over in the waiting room not being able to do anything myself and receiving no assistance while feeling so sick I couldn't even think about moving during my few periods of consciousness. Outside of the points where they brought me in to do tests or diagnose, the only time staff attempted to get me to speak with them was to sign paperwork to make sure I would pay, but never to see if I needed anything or to help. I would never choose to go to this emergency room again.
note: $450 price was out-of-pocket after insurance and with early pay discount, I haven't been told what the full bill was. So even with that cheaper price, I don't feel it was worth the care (and mostly neglect) I received.

This may be the absolute worst “care” I’ve received in my life. The PA was rude and clearly just did not know what she was doing. I went in after hitting my head after having ~6 concussions and hitting my head again while having a fever of 101.5, and the only thing the PA focused on was my fever. I had to beg for a CT scan, which the results took a very unreasonable time to obtain. I also was told I’d have a flu test and it seems as if everyone in the facility forgot about it. I wouldn’t take my dog here, let alone a person. These people are the most disorganized, rude and unprofessional people I’ve ever had the displeasure of being in their “care.” And don’t even get me started on the lack of privacy, everyone in that waiting room heard everyone else’s diagnoses. Don’t go here, go to St. Joe’s.

Was admitted into ER room for mental health - was there 12 days- I slept in hard chair 24/7 - self harmed myself and guards an nurses watched- I now have scars so deep- I was held down by security guard an given a shot through my pjs- the shot didn't calm me down - I was literally abused here the whole time- no one came to help me- my family couldn't even step in- I was eventually blue papered and finally sent to Acadia after all those days of abuse- don't go here for mental health
