The Grasshopper Underground

Hands down the best sound system around! Always bangin techno or house music and lots of people dancing. Good vibes all around & will always come through when I’m in town!

Just put a void system in here not too long ago and it is one of the best sounding places in Detroit. Definitely recommend going there, but bring some ear protection as it gets loud.

This is one of the best clubs in Metro Detroit. Perhaps, they are the only one who bring well known artists from across the world to play really awesome music. I was really happy to see Nora En Pure, Atliens, and Eli & Fur at this venue.
The club is truly underground, intimate, and has the world class Void sound system. The sound engineers have done their job really well because you can hear almost every beat if you stand right in front of the stage. What's more interesting is the fact that you stand very close to the artist, so you can literally see how they're playing their music. Otherwise, at big venues or music fests the artists are very far from you, and sometimes you cannot even see them.
I forgot to mention, their bartenders are really cool. Drinks are a bit pricey. But overall, this place rocks!!! :)

Best sound system in the Midwest. Amazing bartenders. Amazing large club vibe in a smaller venue. Really great for finally getting up close to artists you love to see and who are so far away from you when they are playing those large festivals or arena shows. Top notch entertainment

I’ve been going to Grasshopper since I first got into house music back around 2013. Love this place. Even though I’m 28 and don’t get to go as often Grasshopper Underground will always have a special place in my heart. This place brings back so many happy memories. I love the intimate basement feel. Awesome upbeat music. Was so happy to get to come back last Friday shortly after they opened back up and I missed it! I live further away now but worth every penny of the expensive Uber to get there. I’ll be back!

How can you not love this club? The staff are really cool people. The bartenders make fabulous drinks and they are always super stoked to be there no matter what night. I will say I miss the early 80s/goth industrial nights
(not because I was lucky to spin some of them) But I always like to the club and the sound system was amazing and it still is amazing

its a cool, small basement bar/club with a small upstairs lounge and bar. they bring some great DJs. service is good, and its very clean for a club. it did get full, but i was still able to navigate the crowd.

Oh where do I even begin. The hopper is a Detroit staple great music intimate setting. Wanna feel like your partying with your crew in your basement like you’re back in college? This is the spot. Good prices good drinks and Troy makes sure they bring the fire on the decks. I’ve seen some great artists here and made some great memories. Grasshopper will continue to be one of my favorite clubs in the area. If you like electronic music this is a spot you can’t miss.

One of my regular haunts. This place stands apart from the rest most notably for its outstanding sound system. If you're an audiophile this is probably the only place in Metro Detroit worthy of mention.

Also due to the types of acts that come through there is rarely any type of disagreement between customers. Never had an issue with staff, they're all great people.

Simply put as long as you're a good person and act like an adult there isn't really any way to not enjoy the Grasshopper.

If you like Detroit house or techno The hopper is a must. Resident DJ, Golf Clap is solid. Drinks are cheap and staff is friendly. Maybe not a first date kind of place but a great time if you enjoy the scene.

I have been looking for a place like this for a while. I can certainly say that the grasshopper underground is your to-go bar that offers a variety of drinks but also offers the best house in music in the Detroit metro. I definitely recommend to give it a try or multiple, you will not be disappointed!

Cool nightclub that features both local and international DJs. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Good drink specials. Will definitely return.

Always a great time, Grasshopper attracts a vibrant crowd by bringing in world class DJ's. The friendly staff help to facilitate a great dance party every night. Come prepared to move because you won't want to sit down all night. Their sound system is incredible! Local tip: parking can be a challenge, especially during peak weekend hours so it's best to Uber if you can. Also there are a ton of excellent restaurants within 2 blocks in case you need to fuel up first. I would recommend Public House, Pop's Italian, Greenspace Cafe (veg) or Local Kitchen and Bar.

This place is a blast. Drinks were perfect. Music was perfect. Atmosphere was perfect. Would definitely recommend if you are looking for a trend hot spot.

Great atmosphere. Smaller but more intimate. Always a good time. Staff is all really cool. Especially the bathroom attendants and Coat check

This is one of my favorite places. Great staff, amazing performers on the regular, with the best sound system (Void!) in the state!

Came to see Darude last night, drinks were expectedly pricey, but overall the place was impressive for how small it is. Great crowd as well.

Came here to see Mija throw down some deep haus, love this place. Drinks not top expensive, awesome atmosphere. Definitely a club I'll be coming back to.

Small venue, great atmosphere. Friendly staff, although I think the acoustics could be improved downstairs.
