New Way Bar

Did not catch the name of the new bartender on 2/10 morning shift but we had such a fun time with him. Games, magic and drinks made such a fun Saturday morning! Literally canceled our brunch reservation to hang more. Give this man a raise 🙌🏻

Stopped in with 4 guys just for drinks at this dive bar, don't take this as an insult it is what it is and that's what I like about it that's the intent of how it is designed to be. It's like walking into an old Detroit bar I grew up into enjoying many years ago. Dive bars always have great friendly service as this on did.

I came out here to check the place out have not been here in a while. One thing I immediately noticed is they were doing open mic comedy. It was the 4th of July weekend so I figured I'd check it out. The only thing that I think they could do a little better is if people sign up to perform they should be able to perform around the time that they sign up. Unfortunately, it doesn't always work that way because there are more recognized Comics that can cut ahead in line. From a professional standpoint and also from a Time standpoint that doesn't work. Number one reason is let's say you come in there early and you sign up you shouldn't have to wait almost 4 hours to perform. It's not professional and it is not fair. At the end of the day people's time is precious and my wife and I were not happy with how things went. May come back to see how things go in the future may not. But if I would change one thing it would be when someone signs up you put them on in a timely fashion and don't skip them. Otherwise it was a very good experience food-wise and the bartender was working by himself for the majority of the time we were there and he did an excellent job!

First time here. Langston was an absolute blast. He had a full bar and still found time to entertain us with magic tricks. Such a peach! Will definitely be back to see him soon!

I can’t tell if standup comedy on Monday nights here is underrated or overrated, but it is certainly under-attended. Nothing beats packed New Way Bar Monday night energy.

great place to come get a drink. nice younger crowd. plus they do open mic comedy here on Mondays which is awesome

New way bar was super cool. My first time there was during Ferndale Fever and the bar was alive and rocking! Many acts came in and performed for a good sized energetic crowd! The decor and vibe of this place is great! It’s right on Woodward close to many other bars in Ferndale. This place is a great spot!

Great place with nice, as I surmise, regulars. The meals are similar to less than fast casual, but be on the watch for additional charge for fries, etc. Great music selection. I look forward to when they have more live music. I was told open mic. Wednesday. Apologies in advance if I perform, to the delight of stray cats and masochists....

Nice little bar, with good bartenders and people. Everyone was nice and friendly, workers and regulars made you feel welcome. There was live music, a dart board, pool table, foosball and 2 other ball games. Little small, but people moved out of the way when someone was taking a shot in pool. Didn't eat there, but the burger looked good and whatever was being fried smelled great.

Ping pong, kill clown game, darts, golden tee, nice folks. chill vibe.

Love it here! The bar has real character. Cheap drinks and a friendly staff. There's usually live music on the weekends and a few old arcade games in the back. Never had a bad time here!

My favorite little dive bar in Ferndale. The bartenders are attentive, friendly, and fast. The pool table works and is in pretty decent shape. There's lots of other games to play as well. Most weekend nights will feature a live band, which is awesome. The crowd is usually pretty chill and friendly as well. Worth checking out!

A fabulous neighborhood bar and music venue! The New Way is a favorite friendly local hangout. The owner and staff are great, and really support local and touring bands. Be sure to check their schedule and go see a live show! Added bonus, they have Skee-ball!

This bar is one of the best bars in Ferndale. It's a great place to check out local music and stop for a drink. Good prices and great staff really help sell the place, and if that doesn't then maybe darts, pool, pinball, even skiball might. Great place to go and hang out any night of the week. Jamie and his crew are the best.

One of the best and cool little bars in Ferndale and all of southeast Michigan! I've played here many times in a few bands and hung out with friends and always have a great to.e here! Highly recommend to visit especially checking out live local music 🎸🎸🎸

This place is an awesome venue for good old rock and roll. Play old school Nintendo for free at the bar, or spend some quarters on the pool table in the back. Awesome juke box with EVERYTHING, and free pop corn togo with one of 100's of beers on tap or in bottles. Check out the rock and roll memorabilia on the walls. Vintage rock mags framed in glass and a chill vibe.
