Reptile expo lost power. Ended up here and it was where we were meant to be. Owner was so friendly and knowledgeable. You can tell he knows his stuff. Got our boy his bday set up got a great price. We’re from the thumb, worth the drive!!

My wife and I decided to visit the store when we were in the area. 30 minutes later, we're one ferret richer. I used to come to the store a lot when I was younger, but before yesterday, it had been about 10 years. I was happy to see it had some really nice upgrades and it's thriving! If you're looking for a pet or supplies, go here before you visit a big chain!

Alot of people lie and say this place is dirty or cruel to animals. This is not true I've gotten a hamster and a lion head rabbit here and they are loving their new life. Staff was beyond helpful and friendly and very accommodating to me and my son. The animals do not look abused or unclean. The rabbit is in the photo and he is amazing so is critters. So stop trying to lie on this business

they helped me save my sulcata tortoise!! i didn’t have the proper lighting at first because my bulb kept blowing out when i got one from pet smart and the original one that i got from the taylor reptile expo had blown out as well but, they informed me to get a UVB light as well which i was not told at the other place! now my baby is thriving and they are honestly all so nice. i think it all has to do with how you approach them because i’ve never had problems with them. a lot of people want to blame them for keeping to many animals in cages but firstly you can’t separate every animal or else the whole place would be full of cages and nowhere to even shop. the main goal is for these babies to get a better home. secondly not every animal is going to be healthy it’s all a luck of the draw because they may have certain birth defects which isn’t the owners fault. you always take a risk when you buy a new pet doesn’t matter it you get it from here, pet smart, breeders etc. thirdly i wouldn’t bash the store because they’ve had the same animals there for as long as i can remember like their alligators, full grown pythons, turtle and fish pond in the beginning, tortoises etc. they are very knowledgeable in what they do and if you don’t support them then don’t come here and you mine as well never get any pet ever again. just my OPINION!!! no need to bash the owner and as a reptile lover i support them. next time be more courteous :)

If you are looking for excellent customer service go no further. Critters are a gift and a lift in our wonderful state of Michigan. The customer service is out of sight.
Remember if you're like me and you got a lot of good loving energy and and in need of a new family member. This pet shop is especially special because of the great service they bring. Top that off with a lot of good energy & positive knowledgeable team players waiting to assist you.

Very helpful and courteous. Would highly recomend. Went there trying to set up a aquarium for my daughter after having bad results from other stores and was very pleased with there knoweledge and patience as i know nothing about it. The owner took the time to explain things and is very helpful as were the rest of the staff there.

I drive from Riverview to get feeder mice for my corn snake. Guys are awesome and very friendly. I always get good service.

This is the best pet store in the downriver area. This store has been in business longer than I been alive. I remember going here for fun in the 80’s, now I go as an adult to talk about and buy products for my lizards. Staff is knowledgeable, and patient. Owned by the same family that started it. You have questions? They probably have the answer and many instances its based on personal experience. Check this store out, if nothing else, the kids will dig it and it’ll keep them busy for a good while. Thanks for all your help guys. You made becoming a lizard mom easy. I don’t shop anywhere else for my girls.

Very knowledgeable staff with a wide variety of fish at a fair price. Tanks are clean and well maintained from what I could see. Highly recommend to anyone from beginners to aquarium veterans.

This is one of the last surviving locally owed pet shops in my area. Great place, unique pets from fish to snakes, turtles, tortoises, lizards, scorpions, geckos, tarantulas, frogs, kittens, birds, rabbits, eels. Very unique, it's like a museum. I go there just to look at the pets.

Due to some unfortunate events, our snakes were left behind from a previous tenant and we kept them. The owner of this store helped us in the right direction to caring for them. Tanks, bedding, food for their size and I’m so thankful that he was there to help. Very knowledgeable group of people who work there and we wouldn’t have two happy, healthy and full snakes without them. Thank you so much!

I love this pet shop. The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful. It's usually pretty busy (because it's an awesome place) but everyone there does their best to get you the attention you need. I've never had a problem with any of the accessories or pets I've gotten here and I really just love the environment. My kids really like coming in to see kittens when they have them.

I have been going to the store since I can remember and I'm 45 years old. Last year I started a saltwater tank and Mike and his staff helped me tremendously and still to this day are always quick to give advice and help with any issue we have. Great prices and good people. I'll always be a customer

Love this place. I’m from Monroe and we don’t have a knowledgeable fish person like George. I’m a newbie with fish tanks and my Betta. I asked a few questions here in Monroe about my tank but no real answers. I remembered this shop from when my daughter and I would go in and visit the turtles. I knew this was just the place for answers and I was not wrong. Definitely will be back to pick their brains on some other tank ideas I have.

Critter's has been serving our community for many many years now😁. I took my daughter there when she was little girl and then my granddaughter and now my great grandson. Fun place to go, they always have everything I need and the staff is very knowledgeable, helpful and friendly

The outside has been completely upgraded. It looks beautiful. They even have electric vehicle charging spot on the side of the building. All new pavement. Huge improvements to the exterior. Now, if they shift focus to the inside, that would be awesome! It's a tight space, but they have everything. It's busy, but there is enough staff to keep the pace moving good. We've always had a good customer experience here. Plus, the staff has always been great with my kids and all their questions!

This family run business is Amazing. Clean store.... Healthy animals..... Amazing selection of birds reptiles and small animals. Just Amazing. Don't go big box drive here..... Worth even an hours drive. No Bs.

.. BUT they sold us Two Preggo Guinea Pigs.... Two..... You guys are killing me lol. We are going to start a farm.
They were nice and offered to buy the babies at six weeks if we want to sell them so I still give them five stars.

My boys and I love to go in there and just look at the animals, but today, we brought home a betta fish. The owner was very knowledgeable and answered all of my questions. Absolutely zero upselling just what I needed how much I needed and when I needed it. I would absolutely recommend this community pet store to anyone who asked!
