Salut Bar Americain

We had a group dinner at Salut and it was everything we could ask for! From the reservation to the dessert - it was a quick, smooth process and delicious food! They were able to fit almost 20 people in the back area and we were served quickly and with a friendly smile! I would highly recommend the walleye but there are so many other delicious choices the group was raving about! Great atmosphere, very well put together menu and friendly staff! I would choose it again and again!

I love Salut so much. I’ve been here many times, and it’s always excellent. The mussels are my favorite, but I also love the poulet paillard, the frites and most of the appetizers. The service is consistently great, parking is free and close by, and they have a solid drink menu. Great for a date night, a family meal or any other occasion. It’s worth it to get dessert too.

I loved our waiter! She is amazing. She paid attention to us but didn’t require attention by announcing every move she was making or interrupting our conversation like so many other wait service people do. We didn’t want her to ever leave us. The food was good although some of the portions were small on the HH menu. But no problem! We were outside and enjoying the weather and my birthday, so it was perfect. Mia even brought me a dessert with a candle. A really nice experience.

The food here was amazing. Great Happy Hour offerings as well as a very delicious regular menu. We had the escargot (wonderful), the beet salad (one of the best salads ever), and the grilled salmon & lobster roll. Both main entrees were delicious and perfect portion sizes. The atmosphere is both great for a special night out, as well as family friendly.

Truly amazing. The food was absolutely divine. We are a party of 8 and not necessarily the most sophisticated. It's a special night out celebrating my youngest daughters 25th birthday and the atmosphere is perfect! Not stuffy or "too fancy" yet at the same time elegant. Our server Carter is extremely gracious and kind. Wonderful evening and we thank you for the wonderful memory!! Highly recommend!!

Had lunch with my son-so good! Carson was our server and he was great. The food never disappoints-especially the chocolate mousse! One of my faves!

Very delicious spicy vinaigrette for the oysters, and i highly recommend the squash and burrata salad. The chicken sandwich was fine, but nothing to write home about. Get over to Salut for some tasty french meals. I wish I had tried the creole bloody, but i wasnt in a booze mood. They had crawfish and brie in it!

Absolutely wonderful! Our server, Andrea, was so pleasant, and so efficient. The manager, Becky, was amazing! Her personality and her warm, friendly manner just made a difference in our whole experience. Love to see a restaurant that not only serves excellent food, has great ambience, but also has personnel with personality plus. We had a wonderful experience, cannot wait to go back.

Every single time we treat ourselves to @salut we're just never disappointed. The mashed potatoes are so delicious here. As well as anything else. The waiter just called me "Miss" not "Ma'am" Thank you for that.

Let me start by saying Salut is one of my favorite restaurants. The service is always great, we have had some great servers and everyone is always friendly. I like getting the ceasar salad the authentic way (with anchovies), the soups are always rich and flavorful whether it's the French onion or soup du jour. We had the Grande seafood tower which I would recommend for 2-3 people ( the menu says 4-6). They cut the crab legs for you so you don't have to struggle! Amazing! Finished dinner with an affogato dessert of ice cream and espresso.

The drinks are great, must try the French Riviera martini.

We had a great experience. We got to the restaurant right as they opened and enjoyed a lovely patio table for and early dinner and happy hour. The calamari was excellent as an appetizer and the entrees were also delicious. The staff was very friendly and the tables were spaced out so we could enjoy our meal safely.

Nice, casual upscale dining. Oysters are always fresh and delicious - better than most places in town! We love the steak frites with the hangar steak - amazingly good. The bread service is worth a few extra bucks for a hot baguette and the salted butter to go with it is superb. Highly recommend for brunch, lunch or dinner! In the evenings, stop and take some fun pics on the alley on the side of the restaurant.

Fantastic Birthday meal for my husband who is a HUGE fan of their mussels. Every thing was wonderful including the cappuccino with the sparkler.
Another time, had lunch. Good Cobb Salad.

Great service, food was fantastic, and the atmosphere is great on a Saturday night. Will definitely be back very soon!

The food as always was excellent. Our only issue was service while at the bar waiting for our seating. We never got service. 20 minutes and we finally got someone to recognize us but by then our table was ready and we were seated. So bar service is poor. That said the service once we sat was excellent. The wine was excellent. The seafood tower was delicious along with the baked brie. We had a fabulous meal and the desserts with coffee were perfect.

I still gave the restaurant five stars because 90% of the experience was,as always, a positive experience. I put the bar experience in only because it’s the second time it’s happened when going to this lovely restaurant.

We celebrated my Mom's birthday at Salut this evening. The crab cakes were amazing. The potato crusted halibut with asparagus was good. Two thumbs up for the burgers. Ian our waiter was great. He surprised us with a birthday dessert.

Sat outside and enjoyed our escargot and mussels apps. They were amazing. You must not mind garlic for both of those eelish treats. We followed up with a steak sandwich on ciabotta and an abundant serving of boulabaise. The boulabaise was the star of the evening with crab, mussels, jumbo shrimp, walleye, salmon in a saffron and tomato base. Too good to describe.

Food was phenomenal - everything ordered at our table was excellent. The cocktail shrimp presentation was super cool

Amazing Escargot and muscles. That paired with their fresh warm baguette to soak up all the amazing butter and juices is really all you need for a meal. It was excellent! The escargot is served in the shell which normally I prefer it in the escargot baking pan because the ones served in the shell are sometimes too fishy and not served with the butter. This has the best of both worlds and not too fishy flavor. We had also ordered the flank steak and frites. It was served more rare than I’d like but that’s ok because I wasn’t hungry enough for it so I have room to reheat it. I did think the flavor was quite off though. Can’t put my finger on it. May have just been because I was full and it was more rare than I’m used to. Great wine selection. We had the awesome Chateauneuf du Pape (2017). Ended my great bday meal with some Veuve Clicquot and creme brûlée. They also have a kids menu that has an awesome mini burger on it.

Nice spot for dinner or cocktails and appetizers. We came in at 5 on a Friday and we were get a spot at the bar easily. The bartender was friendly and helpful and the food and drinks were good. We’ll be back.
