Chapter One

Love the open and bright layout of the store. The staff are fantastic and will make sure you have that super sought after hard to find special edition new release copy on release day. They go above and beyond for their customers. Chapter One also has a great reward program for people who are frequent flyers of their local independent bookstores. The location is really easy to access as well, with parking nearby. They also host events with well known authors and have a book club. Overall, they offer pretty much everything you would want from your local bookstore with excellent customer service.

Oh Angie if the walls of the building your bookstore are in could talk they would have many interesting stories to tell! This building used to be where Noterman‘s general store used to be. It was the only grocery store in Victoria for a long time . My grandfather worked there as a manager for many years. I even remember stopping into the store as a little kid. I still remember the 7-Up sign hanging out in front of the building.

Loved the bookstore, so cute and the store attendant was the best, we discussed books and she was just as excited as I am about books, only thing missing was my cup of coffee and could have sat there all day and talked books with her. Highlight of my day during my trip to Minneapolis.

This store is beautiful and very well cared for. The selection is mostly current publications with a sprinkle of older publications by popular authors. There's a small used section, which I love, and the proprietor is very kind and welcoming. I'm absolutely coming back.

This is my happy place! The book displays are always full with all the books I want to read. The kids’ area with the crafts and puzzles is enticing for me and the gkids! What makes it really the best bookstore is the warmth and humor of the owner, Angie!

It is so nice to have an independent bookstore in Victoria. This bookstore has a nice selection of books, puzzles, games, and more. It is well-organized and spacious. From what I observed, merchandise is reasonably priced. (Bonus: the aroma from Ruby’s Roost, located in the same building.)

Who can resist a locally-owned book store? I can't!

While in Victoria to celebrate a family event, came upon this sweet gem. Owner was very welcoming and the store is well-stocked. Made several selections for both adult gifts and children's books to bring home for out-of-town grand-daughters' visits.

Chapter One is a gem. A wonderful selection of books for young and old. Supports educators with a discount within the bookstore. Who wouldn't want to support a local bookstore!

What a fun find in Victoria...nestled downstairs with other unique boutiques shops. Savor a delectable caramel roll and the best coffee at Ruby's Roost, then head downstairs and shop local. We will be back...
