Paul was very knowledgeable and upfront through our multiple plumbing issues. He rearranged his schedule in order to get our new water heater installed within 36 hours of contacting him and everything went smoothly. He also offered advise and even fixed our running toilet (free of charge) when he noticed it was running. He goes above and beyond expectations to explain his approach has tons of good information available on his website. I will continue to use and recommend Paul to friends & neighbors for any plumbing services!

Paul from Athena Care has done a few projects for us this past few months. He's been absolutely terrific to work with. He pays attention and is absolutely concerned with what's best, and provides the most value, for his customer long-term. You immediately know you can trust Paul with your home, as he is personable and obviously completely honest and hard-working. Working with Paul is like having a good friend as a master plumber helping you fix your house! My wife and I will only call Paul when we have plumbing projects.

Paul was new to us when he came to fix a burst pipe in our basement. He came highly recommended on Next Door. He was terrific! Not only did he fix the problem, he also worked with us on preventing the issue from happening again. He installed an outdoor spigot that was far superior to the one we had. He offered to replace it with the same one or do the upgrade - our choice. We chose the slightly more option and it works so much better. We are very grateful to Paul for his professional work, his can-do spirit, and his advice. We will definitely contact him when we have another issue.

Paul replaced a water heater in my home quickly and efficiently. He is a very bright guy and did an excellent job - including some of the complexities of my heater (new gas valve, different water valves, etc). His prices were very fair for the work he did - he is a highly skilled tradesman with quality parts.

Further, it was enjoyable to speak with Paul as he was working to learn about how he manages his business and takes care of his customers. He's of the best service providers I've used.

During the cold snap, our shower would not drain and I tried everything to fix it (snake, plunger, all the tools I had). I called Paul who I'm sure was extremely busy with other problems. Paul communicated very well when he would be by, was extremely professional, straight forward, and had amazing rates. You can tell that he takes pride in his work and tries to make a difference for people. I highly recommend Paul for any plumbing services, he is and will continue to be our go to plumber for any plumbing issues.

Paul was great. I was stressing out about a leak that I needed to get fixed quickly but that wasn't an emergency. He was able to come out less than 48 hours after my original call. He quoted me a very reasonable price, stayed within the quoted amount, got the job done quickly and even went out of his way to save me money by suggesting reusing some parts instead of trying to up-sell me on brand new ones. I will definitely be recommending Paul to friends and contacting him again for any plumbing work I need done in the future.

Update - Just used Athena Care again for a blown irrigation shut off valve. This had been a hard problem to figure out what had caused the issue to begin with and Paul tracked it down to a valve inside the house. He is always professional, quick, and uses high quality parts. Old review: I have been using Athena Care for twenty years. Paul is a plumber who knows his trade and gets the job done right. He also will give solid advice and share solutions that don’t require his home visit if that is an option. I recommend him highly.

Paul's a savvy, experienced plumber. He's candid about his experience (extensive) and his service (specific.) I've never been surprised by a scope change or difference in cost: he always discusses the plan in advance, documents it, does it and validates it. Exactly what I'm looking for in a trusted service provider. I've had Paul do a number of bits of work for me -- some larger, some smaller -- and have always been happy with the result.

Paul was able to repair our tub faucet by overcoming a tile installer's mistake. His efforts saved us significant added expense because he did not have to replace the faucet. I have hired Paul for three different projects and would highly recommend his plumbing services.

Paul is not only a great plumber, but also a nice person. I originally met him when he repaired plumbing at a duplex I used to rent. He did all the plumbing repairs for my prior landlords. When I bought my own home and ran into some problems, I knew I was going to call Paul at Athena. He was always so helpful and considerate at my old rental.

I had a shower drain repair gone bad and called Paul. He offered to alter his plans a bit and come that very same day. That didn't work due to my work schedule, so we scheduled in the very near future when it worked for both of us. He came out and was able to remove a piece of PVC that was trapped inside a cast iron fitting in a very tight space. He then offered to finish putting the drain assembly back together. He also sold me this cool "water alarm" which is similar to a fire alarm, so I could tell is there were future leaks in this hidden area.

He did this all at a very fair, competitive price. I wouldn't hesitate to use him again for any plumbing needs!

Our water heater failed a few days before we were scheduled to have family staying with us over Thanksgiving last year. I called Athena Care and Paul was able to get me in the schedule right away. It was not a simple job, several things weren't up to code and there was also an issue with a gas valve that required someone from Centerpoint to come out. Paul was great and helped us handle the situation with the gas company in a way that I doubt many other plumbers would have done. In the end the whole situation was resolved before my relatives arrived. Additionally the quality of his work was top notch (I have since had it inspected and they commented on how nice the installation and pipe welds were) and he was punctual, quick, friendly, honest and reasonably priced. Truly not much else you could ask for in a plumber and I highly recommend his services. I rarely write reviews but felt this was not only earned but necessary; thanks again Paul! (And sorry for not getting this review up sooner!)

I have hired Paul to work on several small plumbing projects and I've been very pleased with his services and results. He responds quickly, arrives on time, provides an estimate before the starts his work, and completes the work effectively and efficiently. I would definitely recommend Paul for any plumbing project.

Paul was able to replace my water heater the same day I called. He is fast and efficient. I believe that he does as his website describes; great products at fair prices. This is the second time I’ve received the same great plumbing service to my home in Southwest Minneapolis.

After replacing the sink and counter top I discovered the new sink is lower than the old sink and drain connections had changed.

I've hired Paul for several jobs and really enjoy working with him. Most recently he replaced a water heater for me. Paul is extremely prompt and responsive. I called him on a Thursday morning after the water heater died and he had the new one installed by 10:30 am the following day. Paul is a straight shooter and really knows his stuff. He holds himself to a very high standard in terms of the quality of his work and the materials/products he uses. As a result, he might not be the cheapest bid you get, but you generally get what you pay for.

I had a plumbing emergency on a Friday and Paul arrived as promised, in the early afternoon. I am partially disabled and the only shower I can access was now useless. My apprehension was that I was at a plumber’s mercy for cost not only due to the urgency, but also because of my choices; I didn’t trust the bigger companies. Being mostly bedridden, it's easy to feel vulnerable to dishonest tradesmen and feel like I am an easy mark to take advantage of. The extensive information on his web site helped convince me I was going to be in good hands. An understatement. Paul was very straight forward in his evaluation of the problem and his description of what he needed to do to fix the problem. Imagine my relief and surprise when he handed me the bill for a fraction of the cost I had agreed to at the start of work, because he found an easier way to solve my problem. It is hard to imagine me finding any other plumber with this level of integrity. I really can't recommend Paul and Athena Care any stronger and encourage all to engage him with total confidence. Paul has done work at my personal residence several times. He has always done an outstanding job. Most importantly, it has been my perception that he has always been honest and fair, and at a reasonable price. I have always felt comfortable with him in my home. Trust is a big thing for me with someone providing a service of this nature, and I feel he has earned mine. He is also a very personal fellow and has provided timely service when I have needed it. Highly recommended.

I've called Paul to come out several times to my home for minor plumbing issues. Recently, I had him come out to fix a minor gas leak. What I really appreciate is how Paul tells me up front what the estimated cost will be for the job. This time, the minor gas leak turned out to take much longer than he anticipated, and he still stayed within the initial amount he quoted me. Not only that, he went above and beyond to help save me some costs on another problem at the same visit. He's a great guy, I knew that the first time I met him and why I immediately called him again. I think because I'm a loyal customer, he will always go above and beyond and will continue to provide me with not only excellent service at fair prices, but information on how to save money with fixes I can do myself.

I am a repeat Athena customer because Paul knows what he's doing, helps me problem solve first (he has had me fix quick fixes over the phone to save him coming over and save me money and I see in other reviews he's done that for others too); and is always fair and honest. If he says something needs doing, it needs doing, he is not up-selling or sneaking in extra charges. He talks me through everything he does and why. All the work he's done for me (three separate houses and 2 businesses) are done right the first time, and he can identify preventative options too. Today he recommending hiring a guy with a camera to look at my pipes, and boy am I glad I did! The pipe to the street was FULL of roots - a problem just waiting to happen. It was much better to do this preventatively than waiting for the problem to occur. I really think his advice like this has saved me money and future issues on several occasions. I enjoy Paul's sense of humor, don't find him to be abrupt like the 1 star reviews say. Efficient, to the point not abrupt. BUT - I'd be happy with a curmudgeonly plumber if he was as thorough, honest and efficient as Paul.

I don't live in town and have to drive in quite a ways to deal with any house problems. Our new house had some left over plumbing issues. Paul at Athena Care had a good rating and is located in our area. how lucky for me. He got to our problems in a timely fashion, diagnosed the problems quickly and proposed solutions that did not break the bank. He also explained what he was doing and why he was doing it.
