Settergren's of Linden Hills

Shout-out to Mark, Joe and team at Settergren Ace Hardware Linden Hills for always taking care of my hardware, tool and paint supply needs. It's been a joy to renovate a spare bedroom into my new home studio. Courteous, helpful and community involved, Settergren graciously hosts the Linden Hills Farmers Market in their parking lot Sundays 10am-1pm, rain or shine, May thru November. A winning combination. Joe and Mark are awesome and Settergren's of Linden Hills goes out of their way to be helpful with every task at hand. There is a vast selection of everything I need and the employees are helpful. Love my regular hardware store!

Solved my problem in 1 minute! I spent HOURS at Home Depot and Menards looking for a bidet tee adapter and couldn’t find the right part. Settergren’s manager looked at what I was trying to do and brought the correct part to the front of the store in ONE MINUTE!!! Priceless. I will always come here for plumbing questions in the future. I wish I could give 6 stars!

The selection is surprisingly complete for a local hardware store compared with the big box stores, but the real value is the outstanding service! Everyone is helpful and Joe is amazing in working to help you solve your hardware problems. He recently went above and beyond by making an old plumbing part work again with some hands-on action and a few simple parts. Classic local hardware store in an up-to-date setting (with dogs!).

There is always someone friendly asking to help you find what you need as soon as you walk in! I love not having to search for what I’m looking for.

I love a good hardware store as a sort-of DIYer. Really good selection - if they don't have what you're looking for, they've been super helpful telling me what exactly I should look for elsewhere. Plus, friendly staff!

Great neighborhood hardware store. Very friendly and helpful staff. I’m always wondering how the hired and trained some of these high school kids so that they can be so helpfully. Also here’s a fun game: see how far into the store you can get without being asked if they can help you find anything. (I never get very far)

Thanks to Mark and the crew at Settergren's of Linden Hills for going out of their way to help us replace the broken windshield on our boat with a custom-cut piece of laminated glass. If not for their speedy turnaround (and two trips to the glass supplier), we would not have been able to participate in the Okoboji wooden boat show last weekend.

Mark and his staff are knowledgeable and helpful and they have everything the big box stores have. But close to home!

Love this Ace store! Unlike other Ace locations in the area, they stock Ego Powerplus battery tools and are quite knowledgeable about them. Also love that when I went in tonight, every Ace employee had their mask on. They really care about the community they serve, and they will be getting as much of my business as I can give them.

As a younger women walking in to a hardware store I don't always get the best attention, that was not the case at Settergren's. I felt very respected and listened to. I was awed by the knowledge and care the employees here had. Each time I walked in I was immediately asked how they could help, they were great with suggestions on what was needed to complete my job. Was also very impressed with the inventory and selection. I found a bath knob that I had been looking all over town for (even on line!). Will certainly do more of my shopping here.

I am here at least 3x a week. They have pretty much anything you need. Mark and Joe are always super helpful. A great community resource for Linden Hills.

This is the best neighborhood hardware store I have been to. Run by the Settergren family for decades, you will always be greeted by the store mascot and with a smile by their knowledgeable staff. If they dont have what you are looking for you probably dont need it. Make a stop even if it is out of your way, you wont be disappointed.

I ordered something fairly heavy online. It was ready when promised despite being a popular item that was out of stock everywhere else. When I walked in the door, I was immediately greeted and asked what they could help with. When I mentioned I needed help getting the item to my car, the sense of urgency was amazing, they helped me. I know where I'm going from now on for anything hardware.

Best place around town to get screens/windows fixed. I drive 15mins further cause I know they will get it right the first time. Plus I told 2 neighbors to go here with broken windows and they had a good experience too.

We've lived in this neighborhood for a long time, and there used to be two places that sold hardware--but only one where I wanted to shop. This family owned business is a wonderful neighborhood resource that I'm proud to support with all our hardware needs for my home and my business. I love this store! The owner knows EVERYTHING, and has a staff that are engaged, knowledgeable and have personalities! My UPS packages are delivered there if I am not home to get them. Difficult to find Ale81 soda pop is stocked. Fun selection of non-hardware items, one pretty fabulous mascot canine, welcoming atmosphere, obvious love of community, and lots of parking. There is not a thing about Settergren’s that I do not love!
JH, the local guide, really should not be a “local guide”. The review does not at all reflect the Settergren’s experience. We don’t go for the price, we go because it’s the best hardware store ever!

I just moved to the area and have been coming at least once if not twice a week for home improvement stuff or just general home needs. Every time, I walk in the door I'm greeted by a familiar happy face. They are more than helpful, half the time I don't even know what I'm looking for but after I describe the project to them, they have collected everything I need and its at the front counter for me to pay for and they bring all the big stuff out to my car.

This is by far the best hardware store in the city. I spend most of my money here as we own an older house, and I love doing projects.

They can always find us what we need to order it in for example if my wife wants a fancy new faucet that they don’t carry.

I’ve bought two of my snowblowers, A big green egg barbecue, and countless power tools here over 10 years and have nothing but great things to say about them.

Lastly, they have a list of trusted professionals who deliver nothing but the best work, and can be relied on to dig you out of a hole you may have gotten in doing your own projects.

Settergren's Ace Hardware of Linden Hills has a friendly and knowledgeable staff. Most small household repair or project needs can be fulfilled here!
