What a great find! Wonderful selection of classic breakfast choices and darn tasty to boot. Homemade biscuits covered in cream beef, homemade corn beef hash and the waffles! Oh my. I wish the place was closer to my house.

Nice friendly environment. Lobster Benny definitely hit the spot on a cold early morning . I also had a slice of pumpkin pie that hit the spot .

It's right near the Portsmouth Lafayette Market Basket... But I have talked to many people at the store who haven't tried it... It's been there over 20 years (or more) never had a bad meal and it's great breakfast for a decent price. When You are getting ready to shop till you drop it's a great place to tank up first.

Love the homey vibes and friendly staff, really great brunch spot that's been around a very long time! House made cornbeef hash was great!

The food is delicious and plentiful. Service is excellent, the girls do a great job caring for their customers, the cooks are very good. Prices are easy on the wallet.

Excellent family owned place the service was fantastic and the food was great they sat us right away with a table of 7 and made sure I was comfortable as I'm currently in a cast!

I had a margarita, fried zucchini sticks, a Greek salad, and the fisherman platter. Every thing was absolutely delicious! Our waitress Shannon, was amazing! She was running around helping several other tables by herself and she kept up with everything amazingly!!!! Very excellent service!

Great local spot, it has lots of regulars. The staff knows everyone by name. I used to go for breakfast and lunch when I worked at market basket.

Best fresh scallops I have ever had!! Small fisherman's platter was worth every penny. Everything was perfect. So happy I found this place. Service was amazing. We will be back. Can't wait!!

My wife and I went to Herbert's for Breakfast on Friday. The place was slammed. Because we had a appointment to get to, we wondered if there would be enough time. Our worries were immediately put to rest. We were greeted with a smile and gave our drink orders. They were quickly delivered and we gave our food orders. Between 5 and 10 minutes later, our food was delivered piping hot. Everything was fantastic, the food, the service, everything. I encourage anyone traveling to or through Portsmouth, to top and spend some time for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. They're at 1500 Lafayette Rd in the Market Basket Plaza in Portsmouth.

The best place to eat great prices atmosphere is fantastic all employees were great.

Good and friendly service, good food (real homemade feel) and in the back of the restaurant is a cute mom and pop look with vintage chairs and decor. You are greeted like family❤

My wife has celiacs and we both are allergic to shellfish, Heberts is very accommodating to both are dietary restrictions and the different rooms are like going to 3-4 different restaurants but with the same great service, food & coffee!
