What a wonderful and beautiful location for a couples getaway!
I wanted to do something special for my wife on her birthday, and thought a quiet trip away would be nice. We ventured to the New England seacoast for a night of relaxation, and i must say it was very nice. Check-in was a breeze, overall incredibly friendly staff.
be sure when entering the parking lot stay straight and head through past the valet ( unless you want valet parking) to the parking lot, even the cobblestone driveway area is one way, don't do what i did and turn around to unload! easy mistake as the signage is hard to see at night!

The receptionist at the front desk was great, and friendly. I ordered with my room, a spa treatment for my wife and I. I inquired how to book that and what the process is. Sadly the receptionist wasn't too sure, gesturing I contact the spa the following day to either book or inquire.

We got settled into out room, the atmosphere is indulgent and peaceful, warm and cozy. the details of this historic building are opulent and make you feel like your in a different time zone. However updated shower and heated marble bathroom floors are amazing touches that give you the luxury feel associated with this building room rates.

We ventured to dinner, which we choose to try the restaurant in house, Salt. great food, war lighting with great service, food is good and creative menu, pricey but you get what you pay for.

we didn't get to visit the pool or hot tub, but wished we had, maybe next time!
Overall, for any couple traveling for a romantic getaway, would highly recommend. the only thing that would've made this trip flawless, would be better communication or instructions for those booking spa services into their main booking, as it doesn't give you any heads up what to expect or how to utilize and the front desk doesn't seem to have the best visibly or answers to that.

My fiancé and I came here for a night away from the kids. The resort itself is amazing. The outdoor pool and views are incredible and the poolside service for drinks/food could not have been better. Our hotel room was clean and both restaurants had amazing food. Our only complaint was that we had put a card on the door ordering room service breakfast for the next day and they never showed up. We called to inquire and they said our paper was never received even though the guy who brought our room service the night before took it himself. Other than that everything was perfect.

Stayed here for our honeymoon and had the best time! We dined at Salt Kitchen and the food was amazing. The staff was amazing and the views were incredible! Next time we come back we look forward to eating at Latitude 🤍

This is a majestic hotel with everything you need for a little getaway. My wife and I celebrated our anniversary here and loved every bit of it. Staff was very pleasant minus one young lady having a bad day. Other than that we were incredibly pleased with our stay. Hope to come back again for another stay.

Our favorite off season visit is Wentworth by the Sea. The meals here are second to none and the service both in the hotel and the restaurant is unsurpassed. The lobster fettuccine and Atlantic cod entrees were scrumptious. Thank you to your waitstaff Chris and the hostess on our visit, they were the best!

This stay was a bucket list item, and did not disappoint. The room was beautifully furnished and spacious with very pretty views. The bed was among the most comfortable I’ve ever slept on, and the front desk staff was outstanding. Wonderful location with so many scenic vistas, it’s a photographic dream!

Beautiful room and water view, in a very beautiful nice quaint area, amazing hotel with a SPA in it! It was great! Got massage, hair mask, and got to sit in their sauna and hot tub to relax. Also they have an indoor AND outdoor pool with a bar, and great restaurant in the hotel that will deliver your food to the pool to you or wherever. Best hotel I've ever stayed in, definitely would go again and highly recommend. Would give 10 stars if possible.

A beautiful seaside resort with super kind staff, clean, modern rooms, and a great location -- just 9 min from downtown Portsmouth and all of its great restaurants and shops. We were really impressed with our first stay. You get text updates before your stay and can continue texting the front desk if you need anything. The food at Salt was fantastic (albeit a bit pricey). Every staff member went out of their way to make sure we were enjoying ourselves. We will definitely be back!

Definitely worth a visit. Rooms and location are excellent. Dining was awesome and the wait staff was fantastic. Really enjoyed the short time I was there and highly recommend it.

Just called in for drinks but stayed for food. Nice bar area, very relaxing. Service was excellent from Daniel. We'll be back!

We have been going here for our last 6 Anniversaries on NYE. We also love it in the summer. A beautiful location and hotel. Special shout out to Hunter who truly understands customer service and loyalty!!!

I almost didn’t come because of the comments I read in reviews. Glad I didn’t listen to them. It was beautiful, the people were nice, the food was delicious, the rooms were nice. Could they use more staff, maybe! Could the check-in staff be trained a little better on how to warmly welcome guests, maybe! We don’t stay in places like this often though, so maybe I don’t know what I’m missing. The price was high, but I thought it delivered in value.

We came for our anniversary and it was so nice to arrive to a bottle of champagne on ice in our room with a hand written note.

We came here for one night for a last minute, fun staycation with our two young daughters. We can’t say enough great things about the hotel. We were able to check in 2 hours early and the gentleman who checked us in was so nice and friendly. Our room was fantastic - very clean and spacious with a great view overlooking the bay. We took advantage of the indoor pool which was a huge hit. For dinner, we opted to eat in the lounge at SALT which did not disappoint. The lounge is first come first served but we didn’t have a problem getting a table. They had a great kids menu, and the food was delicious. Our waitress was wonderful with our kids and was attentive. Overall, we had a fantastic time and will definitely come back!

The public areas are always so clean and well stocked! All the rooms are very nice including the cheapest of rooms.

Love , love, love the Wentworth! Our go to place when picking up/dropping off our daughter at UNH. Beautiful location , attentive and friendly staff, and the restaurant on site is FANTASTIC! Can’t wait for our next stay!

Wentworth by the Sea's restaurant 'SALT' was everything we hoped. The perfect place to celebrate our 54th Anniversary. The dinner was delicious and elegantly presented. Our waiter Will was extremely attentive. My husband and I were made to feel very special. Can't wait to go back!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

Wentworth by the Sea in Portsmouth offers a classic New England seaside resort experience. I had my wedding here. I was encouraged to share my wishes. They made my dream of a perfect wedding come true! I planned the menus right down to the garnish. They tried super hard to please— I have encouraged my friends to have their events here!

Lovely location for lunch. We were most pleased with the handicap accessibility and the allowance of service dogs. The food was fantastic and the staff were friendly and attentive.

This place has the most, and I mean, the most amazing atmosphere and peaceful views. Must take a romantic winter trip here.
