4 Nice Pieces of Chicken... The Cabbage Had Its Own Taste From Other Joints... It Had a Nice Kick Still With a Light Flavor...

The other day I got, Pit Stop Barbeque & Restaurant, for lunch. I ordered their small Jerk Pork w/ Rice & Beans, and Cabbage, with a side of Mac n Cheese. Their Jerk Pork was terrific! Nice portion sizes, great flavor, the sauce used to top the Jerk Pork, and the pork had an excellent meat to fat ratio. The rice was very fresh and had great flavor as well too. The cabbage was very home-y and was an excellent compliment to the meal. The Mac n Cheese was not so tantalizing though. The cheese used was very good, but the noodles, and overall flavor was not good at all. It tastes like plain baked noodles with a layer of cheese added on top. The staff was very kind and patient. The lady who took my order was extremely nice. All in all, I’d absolutely be trying, Pit Stop Barbecue & Restaurant, again. And I would also highly recommend this place if you’re in the Orange/East Orange area. Just stay away from the Mac n Cheese if you’re a Mac lover.

Listen the more the attitude the better the food… this place in the lead with the jerk chicken and pork.. they home made hot sauce and festival !!!!!! I felt like I was back home. The Mac and cheese is good, curry is good, chicken soup good, stew peas and rice is good. I haven’t had anything else so can’t comment. But so far ten outta ten

Food was amazing, and what I love about it most is that the kitchen is connected to the whole unit of the restaurant. You can taste the preparation of the food, and you can tell they took their time to cook it.

Hole in the wall style place. Got the jersey chicken. Chicken was moist and exploding w flavor. Be sure to get gravy and sauce on top.....might go back to grab another to go.

I finally found chicken patties where the crust is tasty. Second, the filling has a spicy kick and not overly chicken chunk size pieces. My greedy self purchased 3. Lawd have mercy!!!

Owners are nice. Place has a nostalgic feel. Food is soooo consistently de-lici-ous!

Authentic Jamaican cuisine oxtails and jerk chicken are delicious 🤤. Never a moment of disappointment whenever I come to Jersey.

I love the cabbage, I always get some extra. It's a little bit of a drive, but worth it. They move pretty quickly so parking isn't usually an issue .. To ensure you get the best I would suggest you go early..

I've been eating here for over 20 years. There aren't many dishes, but what they offer is stellar. If you get the jerk pork when they just finish it, you will be pleasantly surprised. High turn over rate means you'll pretty much always get fresh food. I'll continue to eat from there unless I go vegan or something.

The stew peas are really good. My girlfriend is from Jamaica and she loves it. Says it reminds her of grandma's food.

Jerk pork is also good. Service could be a lot better often feels chaotic but could just be because the food is so good and they are incredibly busy.

Great place to grab lunch. Please try it out if you're in the area.

Food is always on point and you get a lot of food for the money I haven't been disappointed yet

Phone service needs to be worked on.The person who answered the phone was not very nice.She had no idea about the prices. Her tone was not very friendly. I thought I was bothering her. She said MAM with an attitude. I hung the phone and called back. I got an answer when I called. They need to have the price next to phone. So whoever answers the phone will have the price. The food is still good 👍 😋. Just have to change that west Indian attitude.

Had a jerk chicken meal so good I'ma be saying "wah gwan" for a month

my go to place for the BEST Jerk Chicken in the area. Usually a short line, order to go and try to eat it all before going back to work (where I have to share, ha ha)

My Favorite Place Great Prices Good Portions Eat there at least twice or more a month taste like home with love I can cook and bake myself when I get take out or dine-in it has to taste good and this place is all of that LOVE ❤ IT

They have the best jerk in East Orange. Hands down. The attitude I can do without but the jerk is the bomb!!!

This is my first time buying from here, never even heard about this place. But let me tell you this was some of the best food I’ve had in a long time. I ordered oxtails, cabbage, beans and rice with a side of jerk pork. This food was so good I was upset I didn’t get more. I will definitely be going back maybe even this weekend.
