Scottslawn Recreational Park

This is a private facility for employees and family members only. If you know someone who works there, you should ask about visiting. The shelter house is too notch with nice tables and big fans to keep air flowing. The pool area requires proof of vaccine prior to entry for adults and you need a pool pass to get in. Everything is well maintained.

Private for Scottslawn employees, families and friends. Really large nice pool. Nice playground. Huge property. Rentable gazebo for parties. Scott's should open to to the public once in a while, it would be a good recruiting tool. Great benefit for employees. Impressive

I just pulled off Scottslawn Road to take a look and take some photos of the huge field of Black Eyed Susans I'd noticed while driving by last week. I personally have never seen so many of them at one place before. I learned the field is part of the Scott's company's pollinator sanctuary - a safe place for our important insect species to thrive. Like bees for example - I'm sure they're top of the list. I noticed they were growing several Milkweed plants - humans consider them to be ugly weeds - but they're very important to the survival of the Monarch Butterfly species - thanks to humans dislike for Milkweeds the Monarchs are endangered. The state of Ohio has began a program to protect Milkweeds and start growing them on state properties and along roadways. I'm happy to see Scott's helping the pollinators, of course their business relies on healthy pollinators helping with the reproduction processes of plant life. I took a chance pulling into that area however - it's posted that the area is private Scott's property and the area beside the gigantic field of Black Eyed Susans is for the use of Scott's employees and families only. So if you visit this place be aware that you will be trespassing on private property.
