Encinitas Ale House

A neighborhood pub feel but with really good gourmet-like food and the best beer selection in town including Pliny the Elder on tap, served at the perfect temperature. Can't believe it took me so long to find this place! Waitress was nice and even agreed to settle a discreet, hilarious dispute between my wife and I. It was nice of her to play along.

Definitely an easy #1 choice any night. The food is awesome and the right atmosphere with great hosts and friendly people. Cheers to those that have a vision for awesome food and place overall!

Always a great experience. Great staff, great food, and an outstanding beer selection in bottles, cans, and draft. The specialty burgers are always delicious but don't forget about the fish tacos and the pizzas. If you order a burger, upgrade to the parmesan garlic fries. You won't be sorry.

BEST BURGER EVER. Be sure to upgrade your fries to garlic cheese ones, well worth it! Beers are cool as well and the place is very reasonably priced. They serve decent sized desserts too if you have a sweet tooth like me ;)

Probably my favorite bar in town. Great draft list (especially Belgians), solid food, and good vibes all around.

My fave local ale house since it opened. Always has a nice selection. I'm vegan so the food choices are limited. Staff is always nice. Highly recommend.

Amazing food they know what they are doing in that kitchen! The manager that was working and serving us was fantastic great place to eat at!

This place is amazing and I almost don’t want to review it so other people can’t come. I would give this place 7 stars if I could. The burgers and beers are amazing. They have over 300 kinds of beer, including some rare, limited run series by Brew Dog, including Tactical Nuclear Penguin (which has 38% alcohol, or something like that!). The burgers are to die for. Everything on the menu is amazing. The only bad thing you can say about this place is that it’s not open 24 hours. They do have a plaque for people who come everyday over a certain period of time, and you could totally do it. Just an amazing hole in the wall. Totally worth visiting if you come to San Diego. Worth the drive from anywhere in the city or downtown. You won’t regret it. L

We came here for lunch with a dog and a baby stroller and they were very welcoming and accommodating. The food was delicious, we all ordered the fish tacos, and they had an extensive selection of beers from around the world. Will definitely be coming back.

The Kobe burger is probably the best burger I have tried in my life. Out of this world.
The beer menu is endless and if you like beers, this is the place. Food is always good if you want to have a Pizza or sandwich. Small, cozy and local place to go!

World's best bartender Max! Great variety of European and local beer. Amazing pub food. Get the Kobe sliders or Belgian mussels. Atmosphere feels like a cozy Belgian pub. ❤

Epic Beer selection. Always have some exciting "one off" kegs and bottles coming through. One of the few places that gets Pliny the Younger! Cannot go wrong with the mac and cheese pizza and the burgers are a winner. Beef, pork, venison, bison, boar...always changing and always super fresh. You get 2/1 on Tuesday burger night which is awesome.

Having many years experience in the restaurant business I typically find something that is being done wrong when I go to one. Unable to find any issues at The Ale House. Wonderful beer selection that will please everyone. Very friendly atmosphere, great attentive staff, and the food? Best burger I've ever had. Excellent on excellent and all at great prices. Will definitely be going back whenever I'm in Encinitas!

I LOVE that they carry the Impossible burger now, but their Portobello burger is also amazing. Great beer selections, and surprisingly nice wine choices too! The staff is always friendly and you can't beat the location!

Service was great! Food was fantastic! Highly recommend the veggie bruschetta. The mac and cheese was fabulous for both kids and adults. Hit the happy hour either 3-6 Wednesday-Friday or 4-6 Monday-Tuesday. Great job!

Great selection of beer-always rotating draft list so it’s nice to be able to try different types of beer (IPAs, Saisons, stouts, imperials, pale ales) from all over the world. Also excellent food-we sometimes head there just for the 🍔 even if we aren’t thirsty.

Recommend the Santana Burger and the pizzas are for real too.

Sometimes they even have like buffalo burgers, or like wild ostrich burger-crazy stuff.

Cool crowd too.

By far my favorite spot in Encinitas. Their selection of beers and ciders is second to none. Always teh friendliest of staff willing to help you in your search for your next favorite beer. The food is excellent, especially their burgers. Tuesday is 2 for 1 burger day. Don't miss out on this gem along the coastal corridor of Encinitas!! You'll be very happy you went.

We were told to go for the burgers and oh man! First off the service was amazing, friendly folks that know their menu! Started with the mac & cheese and clam chowder; both were out of this world. Then came the burgers, the bootlegger. Flavorful toppings that didn't mask the beef flavor. Haven't had food this good in a long time. Oh and don't forget the brews; 500 to choose from. We will definitely be returning to try other fare.
