Escondido Square Shopping Center

Yummy food to go, or dine in. The best dulceria in town for party stuff and piñatas. La Takiza has a glam Cine de Oro vibe with old black and white posters of the greatest Mexican movie stars. Lots of street food style foods and paletas too at Michoacana. The parking near Northgate is the WORST! So avoid the section near grocery store.

My Mexican wife loves the bakery here.

My family and I often go to Northgate Market to buy fruit and veggies. Love it there. Great customer service and great quality produce. Never have trouble finding a good parking spot.

Hatch green chilies, yum! The grocery store is very organized, friendly staff and has everything Mexican, plus great prices.

I've seen slim the security guard chase a guy for a quarter mile.. so this review is more for him than esco square shopping center, which is okay at best.. they to the best to keep the riff Raff out, which seemingly surrounds the place for a 100 yards in each direction.. and they got some good spots on each corner.. Dollar tree and AutoZone and Northgate.. the problem is everything and especially EVERYBODY in between..

Great shipping center with easy access and a lot of parking. It can get busy with all the pedestrians going into the shops but what else would you expect for a shopping center. All the stores are pretty good and it can be at times a one stop shopping trip for me and the family. Everything is in one spot so that saves me time on running around town to get things.

Northgate Gonzalez, great customer service ,awesome prices and I always find what I want to buy every time I go there!

Excellent service some Hispanic girl was checking me out I was like maybe I should get her number but I didn't ask I love the markets they inspire me to shop there more beautiful latinas to that work there and good food tamales and snacks and drinks

Whenever I'm up around Escondido, I try to swing by Northgate and get their 3 pack mix of meats for street tacos. My wife prefers the Al Pastor, and the beef is my favorite. The chicken is also pretty good, but not as good as the Al Pastor and the beef.

Those little 3-in corn tortillas are the perfect size. I was there early enough that they weren't even any in a package, they took them off the grill for me, still pretty hot to the touch.

Best produce prices in town. Also the best produce. If it's carne asada night in my house, this is my one stop shop. The house made chorizo is great, not too greasy. Awesome for breakfast tacos.

This place can be a chaotic but once you get past it you are in for a treat... Fresh tortillas, multiple kinds of fresh salsa and tamales, Ceviche, guac... During hatch chili season they do free roasting on site if you purchase a box

I love North Gate Market it has the best tamales 🫔 ever.

The store was nice it smelled really clean inside but man was there a lot of homeless people in that area. so I'd watch your back if you're there in the evening

We wanted menudo meat and some hot food to go. Line to get the meat went as lines do slowly because we are inpatient, but once I got it I was off to the hot food area.
Wow nice collection of hot food I went for the Carnitas it was great got a side of Mexican rice also and some pico de gallo salsa. I eyed the grilled chicken for next time.
All was good. Chicken was good too.

Recently renovated! Escondido store looks much better! Now they have more organic produce and organic meats. Prices a low compared to big chain grocery stores like Ralph's or Von's. The quality of the produce is very good, you will find all the mexican ingredients and some American brands as well.

I grew up going there. Ofc it had different names and managements but it's a great Hispanic grocery to shop.
