I just saw this place and the owner on iiMPCT MEDIA. The owner was so delightful and friendly. He talked and talked about how he roasts his own beans for his two store and you can tell it is his passion. When you love something the way he does, you know it is going to be perfect or he won't sell it. The shop looks amazing, clean, and nice to be in. Order a cup to try and then buy a pound or two. They sell by the pound and will grind it for you if you dont have a grinder. Hopefully they start selling online soon, but he did say that he mails out coffee to regular buyers all over the country. Call up and ask, maybe they will mail you some too.

Take your time off the beaten path and grab a coffee and walk the streets of Rancho Santa Fe. This coffee shop is absolutely darling with outdoor seating on a beautiful small patio. Try the freshly baked croissants - we did a chocolate vanilla and an egg croissant and they were outstanding. A charming visit, and great offerings. And very kind employees!

I stopped here to grab an espresso. Really good espresso! Smooth, not overly acidic, but robust in flavor. I didn't indulge, but their menu of croissants had me drooling. They have croissants I have never seen before. I am going to come back and try some of them. They have an apple croissant that sounds right up my alley!

Best coffee, pastries, and service around! The honey lavender lattes and cream cheese croissants are my favorite.

Friendly staff and delicious drinks! They have many dairy-free options which I appreciate. (Almond, Coconut, Oat & Soy) I love their decaffeinated Frappes. They’re also open pretty late in the afternoon which is very convenient for those of us who need a sweet treat or coffee later in the day.

Caffe Positano is a must. The pastries and the coffee are just amazing. My son said it was the best croissant he has ever had and his ice latte was outstanding!

Needed a quick coffee break fix while at a wedding nearby with no coffee. You can only imagine :) Luckily, Xavier and the owner of this fine cafe took excellent care of me and my folks. They have freshly roasted coffees and baked pastries all done in house. Cafe Positano is a hidden gem in this quiet part of San Diego.

You know what I like about this place? Yeah, the coffee is good; especially the Americanos. Yeah, the pastries are good; especially the smoked ham & cheese croissants. Yeah, the muffins are tasty, as well; the basic ones. But it's the people behind the counter in this tiny (and I mean tiny) little coffee shop that reminds me of our fave haunts in and around Manhattan, where space is at a minimum, while hospitality is at a maximum. Yeah, the smile and a nod, the friendly inquiry even when they dont know me, THAT'S what I enjoy most. In a time (and place) where attitudes are bigger than they should be, and posing is a natural pastime, these folks serve it up just like I like it...with a smile.

I can’t drink coffee much, but when I drink once a week I go to this place because they have the best. Their pastry is to die for.
I own a business and understand why sometimes they are short staffed, people should be reasonable and don’t give businesses bad review because of the wait. I am very happy with them.

Perfectly nice people and seating outside is great, but-- paper cups coated with Styrofoam? In this day and age, why not plain paper? ( the store owner left a very educational and cogent response and I have increased my rating for that!)

I have not been to Caffe Positano but it was filled with customers the morning I went. I asked a few of them why they wanted this coffee more than anything else. My main response was that this was some of the best coffee around. Every Saturday there is an astounding collection of cars that meets on the streets. Owners of beautiful and exotic cars park here just because its something fun to do. If you enjoy classic, American muscle, Italian art, or super cars in general; then this is one Saturday where you don't want to sleep in.

It's the only game in town for drop in coffee, but it competes like there's a traditional urban setting- fresh baked goods, nice people... of course it's a tiny sidewalk cafe so reviews related to size didn't mention the great seating outdoors, with cleaned tables and the trained baristas that deal with the demands of an international clientele. On occasion you get the undesirable (by that, I mean rude, impatient) transient customer walking over from the hotel behind you in line who can't fathom a one minute wait, since there is only one or two staff, max. 99.9% of the clientele is able to adjust to the pace of RSF so it needs to be taken in stride- It's a perfect place to get a coffee, then walk and talk if there's no seating available, there are peak times so please be chill, the staff moves fast and the quality of the drinks are superb, they offer ceramic cups which is a nice touch. It's nice to see a local shop strive to deliver excellence since the RSF crown has been around and is used to being served. And the smells! Lovely aromatherapy of coffee and fresh baked goods.

Ok I am typical. Get to rancho Santa Fe and I want Starbucks. Don't see one close. Pull into town this morning and see a bunch of locals drinking coffee. I park and go in for iced coffee. The lady smiles and makes it with one espresso shot. It was amazing!! How does this small shop make such a smooth coffee?? Can they move near my house on the east coast?? I am hooked. It had lots of options, fresh squeezed oj and more. Stop for coffee. They will make it worth your while

The coffee and pastries are excellent as in taste and freshness. The baristas are friendly and helpful. Lately they have been closed on the weekends therefore call first before going.

Wow. The pastries. I had a butter croissant and it was so fresh and delicious. The coffee is a good compliment to the pastries.
