Isabelle Briens French Pastry Cafe

Isabelle’s has the BEST croissants in all of North County San Diego… if not in all of the US! So flaky, buttery & delicious. Not to mention Isabelle herself is so personable and kind, she sits down to talk with you whenever she’s not running around or making cakes. It’s truly a one of kind, authentic experience.

Yummy croissants and their latte is so good! My favorites are ham or Turkey croissant and their turnovers. It is a true French bakery. The savory crepe is another favorite for us. It is a clean and friendly place. Definitely recommend it.

Such a great place! This reminds me any French Bakery in France! You have to stop and try what we call Le Pain au Chocolat! The owner is French, worths the stop! We also order our 10yo Birthday Cake, such a delice!!!

Isabelle’s is the best! There is no better place in Encinitas to sit and enjoy a croissant and every other French pastry you can imagine. We love it!

I got the Monaco egg cheese & ham crepe, and a double shot cafe latte while waiting for Discount Tire to install new tires on my car. The crepe was so good, I thought I was in France! The cafe latte also tasted really good.

This is a nice, cute little French pastry cafe, with friendly staff, great food, and a relaxing environment. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. Highly recommended!

Was visiting Encinitas on this so foggy and cold Friday. It’s about 5:30 and most of the coffee shops were closed. But this lady needed her cappuccino. This cafe was open, yay! The cheesecake was hard to resist, and it was exactly what I needed. Would have liked to try their crepes, but kitchen was closed :( There is a next time for sure, before 5 pm that is.

Best pastries in town! The almond croissant is out of this world, simply delicious.

The greatest almond croissants we’ve ever eaten. Both my wife and I have spent lots of time in France and we can vouch that the croissants at Isabelle’s are as good as you can get. Fantastic coffee too.

I had a sandwich there today that was simply to die for: sliced hard boiled eggs, swiss, arugula, mayo, and balsamic -- on the softest long French roll. Small side salad, but I used that container of homemade balsamic dressing as a dipping sauce. I actually called them on the phone to heap praise. I live 20 miles away, but will be back soon!! Superb. Viva La France! (And I also got four croissants to-go for the weekend.)

Awesome local restaurant! Authentic fantastic food, no bad choices on the menu. Best Crepe Jambon I’ve had anywhere in San Diego.

First, I should say that we just returned from Paris. While there, we ate pastries every single day, as you do in Paris. Before our trip to France, we were already fans of Isabelle’s pastries. We’ve made life-long friends by feeding people these croissants! We love the food here.

So, when we went to Paris we didn’t know what to expect, but we did assume that the French food and pastries would be amazing, and probably far beyond anything we have eaten in the U.S…

And the pastries were good, splendid even. We are things we have never seen or heard of before. However, we never found any croissants or staple French pastries that could beat Isabelle’s. They’re still the best!

Delicious, and completely authentic! Isabelle provides a charming space that allows for community and connection. Plus, the food and desserts are incredible, the staff is so friendly, and you can visibly see the joy it brings to all those who visit it! :)

Went on a weekend adventure to find the best croissant in north county. This won hands down! Flaky, buttery and fresh. You can taste the difference in the quality of the ingredients. Absolutely wonderful!

Crepes, pastries, desserts, lunch and breakfast. This shop does everything well. The desserts are sublime. She makes them so that they taste amazing and not overly sweet. Her eggs are never over cooked and the espresso is delightful. Ham and cheese croissant is so rich I may have one once a year.

This is a good cafe in a number of ways, but the thing that makes it outstanding is the pastries. They are the most French-like pastries I've ever had. Buttery, light, and so flavorful. My SO lived in Paris for a while, and she loves how the pastries here remind her of living in France. A great cafe.
