If you're looking for delicious old-school homestyle cooking, this is the place for you. Their food is delicious, portions are large enough to share and the selection is quite diverse, including vegetarian options and sweets. On top of that, the staff are pleasant and the prices are reasonable. The atmosphere is basic diner with booths, tables and a meeting room available. The Black Forest is a clean and comfortable restaurant and I am looking forward to my next meal there.

First time here with our breakfast club and it was a big hit with everyone. They had room for us - group of ten - in the side room.

Our waitress was very attentive but not hovering. She met every need we had with a smile. Our food arrived pretty quickly and all together, which is always nice when eating in a large group.

We really enjoyed our meal here as a group, and will be adding the Black Forest Family Restaurant to our rotating- but next time we’ll be returning for lunch because the offerings on the menu looked very intriguing.

I’ve been coming here for a couple years now and they’re consistently good. Carly and Sarah are always great. Carly remembers my usual favorites which shows a level of appreciation for her customers and a service you don’t typically find anywhere for such a busy restaurant. When you consider how busy this place is consistently during the week days when I go there you can’t beat this place. I hope you’ll try this place more than once before leaving a review. No one is perfect! Family owned and run businesses are the backbone of our country. I hope this review helps anyone looking for a good local spot to frequent.

Family owned and ran. Best prices on food in town. I have been going their for almost 9 years and wish I would have known about it the first 2 years I lived here.

Service friendly and attentive in this first visit since Black Forest reopened. I opted for the "Pick your own" breakfast combination of two eggs, two strips of bacon and one pancake for $5.95 and coffee. The ample serving of eggs, bacon and pancake were done well and tasty and the coffee good as well. Worthy of a return visit to try lunch and dinner selections.

Been going here since i was a kid, great food, great service and one of the few hidden gems of Grants Pass. Prices are super reasonable as well.

Best breakfast in Grants Pass for the money! The build your own breakfast is a great deal.

This is a family owned restaurant and has a great convivial atmosphere. Terrific food at anaffordable price. Highly recommend.

It was very good this Three egg omelette.Hashbrowns were good too.

Over all I've really enjoyed myself each time I'm there. The staff have a tendency of remembering what you order each time. My only chief complaint is, a few times when I've ordered a large orange juice, I keep getting a small. Otherwise everything has been spot on.

I have been meeting friends at Black Forest for lunch every Tuesday for the last couple of years. The food is excellent, and the prices can't be beat. The wait staff is very friendly and attentive. Two thumbs up, way up, from me!

My husband and I are from Florence Oregon we came her to visit our daughter and grand daughter we stopped in here for breakfast yesterday and fell in love with the restaurant we came back again the next morning to have breakfast again I wish we could take them all home with us the staff here are amazing we will be back again

Fantastic food & great service. One of the best Monte Cristos ever! Kind of hard to find but well worth it

The food is cheap but don't let that deter you.
The breakfast food is wonderful and the cooks really know what they're doing. My partner had a burger and him being a picky eater said it was a pretty darn good burger. Cooked to perfection. The staff is very friendly and prompt. Topped off our water at good intervals and made sure our needs were met in a timely manner.
