New Sagaya City Market

A well stocked supermarket with a seating area with utensils and sauces provided for having your meal. You can get a proper lunch box for less than $10. There's also a soup and salad bar, bakery and a fresh seafood section. Fruits tend to be expensive though. You can get a cup of coffee from the cafe inside the supermarket too. It's within walking distance from downtown although it might be difficult to walk there during winter with slippery ice on the sidewalks. It's the only proper supermarket downtown as far as I know though.

One of my favorite places to visit in Anchorage! Fantastic service! So friendly! Really great prepared deli food and hot bar! Amazing seafood counter that will vacuum seal fresh fish for travel! Wonderful variety of foods! The coffee and Cafe located inside is terrific! They have delicious salmon spread in the deli counter as well!

Finally I’ve found great store in Anchorage. I’m from Downtown Los Angeles and this store 90% correspondents my expectations. Other stores targeting local population, this store is great for fastidious travelers. Recommend! A+

A nice city market. Has great hot foods and usually good produce. Coffee shop is in there and fresh bread too. Seafood choices is what they are known for.

Very helpful employees! Modest selection; the midtown location certainly has more variety and more specialty foods/items, nevertheless a nice market.

Mango the size of a cantaloupe! Absolutely delicious and only a slight exaggeration.

I love getting fresh baked bread and roasted garlic hummus from here. A type of exotic ingredient you might need? Check out their locations midtown and downtown! Also, all the workers at both locations are really awesome and friendly. They can help find what you might need.

Love the Italian pastries. The un sold pizza dough they sell so I can use in my wood fired pizza oven at home is also very nice!

Pretty amazing grocery and produce selection.

Matt at the meat market is a rockstar! So helpful, and shipped the fish to Texas!! Enjoyed coffee and worked a bit too!

This place is slightly cheaper than natural pantry and I would call it pseudo organic. It's not quite Whole Foods quality organic but it is definitely a step up from cars Safeway.

I wouldn't go here for meat specifically though if that's what you were into because their selection is low. This is the kind of place I would come for niche coffee or their bakery or their deli which is exceptional.

They also have excellent security and I don't recommend stealing.

About a couple of steaks for dinner for me and Friends and the meat was so great! It's a nice small little market with a lot of very good things. Right now they have some really nice peaches and plums and nectarines that are enormous and ripe

Such a lovely local market. Great seafood selection. Their poke was the bomb. Loved the variety of goods offered, everything is either healthy, artisanal or brands from Europe you rarely see at a mainstream store. The bakery department seemed nice too.

A little smaller than the midtown market but lots of aisles to explore and great finds here!

Awesome store(s) for Asian cuisine, excellent produce, meat and fish counter is superior to chain grocers.

delicious carrot cake. Love their home made tomato soup. Sadly you can no longer get the darigold butter chips with your bread.

If in Anchorage, and downtown, and you're looking for a safe, 15-20 minute walk (from city center) to a neighborhood grocer this is your place to visit!

Fresh seafood (still in tanks), local wild salmon, upgraded cheeses, chocolate and whatnot with deli, hot foods, fresh produce and bakery. It's quaint, small, neighborhood oriented and has nice outdoor sun deck as well. Highly recommend (walking during warm mos...safe area to and from).

A great neighborhood store where you can pick up last minute items, daily staples, seafood or unusual and unique ethnic foods. Thanks New Sagaya for continuing to be part of this great neighborhood!

New Sagaya has what I need 99% of the time I go their. Although the price is a little expensive it’s reasonable for it being a small local grocery business in Alaska. They often also have very unique selections on produced compared to other stores in the nearby area.
