Clean showers and bathrooms, which, to me are very important. The staff are friendly and helpful. Will be coming back again for sure. Close to Williamsburg, so if you want to visit Colonial Williamsburg or Jamestown they are just about 35 minutes away.

It's such a lovely campground. The sites are all well maintained. They have wifi and cable available at most sites. They have access to both the lake and river. Fishing is available with the proper documentation. They have a beach and a playground. During the summer months there is a water pillow and lake swimming. Their staff are super friendly and very helpful. We can't wait to come back again.

No complaints! This was my first RV. Amping experience and I will say this place was a great place to start out my retirement/a sabbatical much needed! The check in process was easy and the young man at the desk even helped me and my BFF with the hookups (power, sewage and water)! Something he didn’t have to do! I was truly blessed to have picked this place for my first experience … and the selection was random and last minute! So huge kudos to this campground! I will go back only when I can get a cement lot though because I ended up with ants! Again, no complaints. I’ll post as many pictures as I can…ENJOY!

Beautiful campground along the river. Generous spots with all the amenities. The bathrooms are clean. The showers are individual rooms which I appreciate. They were also very clean. Hot water with strong pressure!
WiFi and cell service were a bit spotty during our stay but it just meant we had to disconnect from work and be in nature.
It was very easy to visit a bunch of cities around us like Williamsburg.

We have been coming to Rockahock campground for several years and could not say enough great things about it! The staff is always so helpful! Becky, who works in front office, works very hard to make sure everyone is happy always and does a great job! These last 2 years, I have also seen a huge effort in making sure there are lots for the kids to do. They have added several planned activities on the weekends. If you want a nice family campground this is your place! Highly recommend it! You will feel like part of the Rockahock family very soon after you arrive and the staff will be there waiting for you when you get there and will even take you to your site if needed.

We stayed this past weekend in our new travel trailer with our young grandson and absolutely loved it. We drove up the weekend before to familiarize ourselves with the place and the staff was very welcoming and helpful. Every staff member we encountered during our stay was super friendly and inviting. The camp[ground and bath houses were clean and our grandson loved the playground. If you don't feel like cooking, the campground restaurant says, "permanently closed" but Lakeside restaurant is a block away. Overall great time, thanks!

This is the second season that I have kept my travel trailer at Rockahock for the summer and fall.
Great community.
Very welcoming.
Mix of weekenders, seasonals, long term / work camp tenants in the middle secotions and full time/year round residents in the front and rear sections.
Owners are always working to improve the facilities.
Staff is helpful and responsive to questions and maintenance requests.
Great location on the Chickahominy River.

It is a campground that does have cabins to rent. It has a playground, pool, volleyball, basketball, corn hole, sandy beack on the river, and a boat ramp.

We had such a great time over Memorial Day weekend at Rockahock. We stayed in a Yurt, which is simply a one room octagonal cabin with electricity and A/C, a refridgerator and heat. The bed was comfy. There was a picnic table and fire circle and grill. The staff was extremely helpful and pleasant. They had fun activities for the kids. The bathrooms were clean. We even had a shower assigned to our yurt! We went so that we stayed close to Busch Gardens but I plan to take the whole family back there again just for fun. My granddaughter loved the Pirate camp. We all learned a new game - dagaball. The grounds were clean. It rained and while there were lots of puddles to jump in, we had no issues with flooding at all. There was no tent camping that I saw, which is a shame since we do love to tent camp. But there were lots of cabins, RV sites and the yurts. I can't wait to go back. I did have to leave a message when I was trying to understand the accommodations. I got a call back the next day, which I felt was reasonable. I can't remember the name of the man that we met when we checked in. He was phenomenal. He went above and beyond. Our fire circle was missing. My husband let him know and within 30 minutes he brought a new one, was apologetic, and put it in place. He checked on us regularly. I really have no complaints.

We loved our stay here! The staff treats you like family, and I'm not just saying that. As soon as we pulled in, a neighbor immediately asked us if we needed help setting up. This isnt just a campground, this is a community. Everything is convenient and all you need is right there within the campground. We weren't able to visit the restaurant, but I heard the food was great! This place definitely deserves a 5 star review

We found the campground to be clean, quiet, with plenty of amenities for our entire family with kids! We explored the entire area while staying at Rockahock. Visited Colonial Williamsburg, Virginia Beach, Yorktown and Jamestown. At night, played bean bag toss (cornhole) which are provided at the campground. They also have a swimming pool and large pavilion. Staff was very friendly and helpful!

We absolutely love this campground. We’ve been everywhere camping from Maine down to Florida and this I’d have to say is our favorite!!! The staff is exceptional. They’re all super friendly and helpful with anything you may need. There are activities for kids and adults. A ton of fun for the entire family. Their website doesn’t do this place justice. The grounds are clean. The store is clean and has many helpful items inside. The pool was clean. If you’re thinking about taking a family trip or just a weekend getaway, this is an awesome option you won’t be disappoint. One suggestion is the website should list the events and times for people that are planning on visiting so they know all the great things Rockahock offers their campers!!
Thank you so much Rockahock and stuff for such an enjoyable experience!!

Had a great time in our rented villa, which was in great shape! We love that the campground is on the river. We walked and drove around and it was quiet, peaceful, and everyone was friendly. We were sad that the
on-site restaurant had closed. But we truly enjoyed our time there.

We had a great stay! The water feels amazing. You all have made it super easy to move a trailer around and get launched in the water. The guests that I had the pleasure to meet were all sweet and great to talk to. Everyone helped each other out when needed. And Geri in the office was great to work with.

Really enjoyed this campground. Kids loved it. We didn’t have to use the facilities but they all looked clean. The on-site restaurant was yummy with fun live music. Very easy and laid back. WiFi was good, only dropped service slightly when the campground became packed during Labor Day. Only minor complaints were.. I wish there was a little more shade on the campsites but I knew that coming in. Also there is a very steep entrance to the park which is a problem for some folks exiting due to their Jacks dragging and getting stuck. We did not drag thankfully but we heard about it and witnessed it happen. I feel the campground should put a warning sign and instruct people to leave via the left (oncoming traffic) lane and leave towards the left. The main road that leads to the park is a “U” shape so you could easily get onto state road 60 regardless if you exited the camp
Left or right. Stayed in Site 439A

We had a lovely week and a half at Rockahock. Of course there were limitations due to the epidemic. Our 30 amp, FHU site was large and clean. We had a picnic table and a fire ring. Campground staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. The facilities were clean and well maintained. Access to the Chickohominy River on both sides of the dam was available for larger boats as well as kayaks and paddle boards. There was a concert at the pavilion on Saturday night with good music, but it didn't go late into the night. We were there over a holiday weekend, and the campground was full, but we didn't feel crowded. I hope we can go again sometime with fewer restrictions, and less rain!

We visited some family that stays up here. The gate people were very kind and helped us to figure out where to go. Beautiful pool and scenery. We had so much fun at the bounce park for my daughter and the other littles. We even paid 5 dollars to tie dye shirts. Unfortunately that part was a little disorganized. However, I do not blame them... they were bombarded with a large group all at once. Plus, the teens running it were super kind and calm under the pressures of a bunch of kids/adults. And our shirts turned out adorable. I wish we could come more often.

One of the best campgrounds we've ever stayed at. Beautifully maintained -- we were here 3 weeks and the grounds were mowed twice! Lovely, level spots with nicely maintained tables. Bathrooms are clean and decently kept up. Friendly professional staff. Highly recommended!
