New Kent Safety Rest Area Eastbound

Clean! Thank you to the gentlemen who seemed to care for the facility at that time. Vending, Charging Stations, Restrooms , & sit down area with tables are all located inside! Thumbs Up!

A beautiful rest area, inside and out. Lots of space to stretch your legs, a place for your little ones to let of steam, and even room for Fido to roam. Inside there is an area to sit and eat while charging your electronics, lots of necessary rooms, a visitor area with information and vending machines. You can even buy VA merchandise, though, I'm not sure who would buy a Tshirt without knowing the size, but... I'm sure there are those out there who would.

AKA the Harold J. Neale Rest Area. This one was kind of a surprise to me. So much information inside, and so interesting. Also, a vending machine for the Virginia is for Lovers shirts and other items., a Virginia Lottery vending machine. a Starbucks vending machine, and another that sells sandwiches. Never seen these before in a rest area. I've also never seen one with a playground before. And the sidewalks seem to be designed more for leg, stretching and exercise, then utilitarian purposes. Picnic shelters with tables that are accessible to all. Including grills. This was a very pleasant surprise. It's a great stop for travelers.

Very clean location also very organized and historic as well. We stopped on our way to the Midwest and it was a nice. Also, a great vending machines election.

Not just a rest area - there is also a full visitors center here. Well lit. Clean restrooms. Covered picnic areas and one of the Virginia “LOVE” signs for photos

Overall clean and well lit. Bathrooms are large and always seem to be in good repair and spotless. Tourist information and vending in lobby area as well.

This rest area was immaculate and I do mean immaculate! Stopped here on December 26, 2023 at about 8:45 pm and you could eat off the floors. Everything was pristine and shining. There were a man and woman janitors and I complimented them on their work but that truly isn't enough—whatever they are paid they should get a raise! People who do their work well are very few. I hope VDOT appreciates them. They are incredible ambassadors for Virginia!

This stop and its westbound cousin are the cleanest in the state. Vending machines are well stocked with a wide variety of items including milk!

This is one of the best Rest Area stops I've ever stopped at. They have all the information on Virginia that you could want or need! It's a beautiful building and very clean and organized! I must say I was very impressed!

Wow, someone had issues driving. Need a little more patience.Took 30 minutes to go 5 miles. I needed a stop still had a ways to go to get home. Quick drink and snack and on the road again.

This is always the last rest stop on my way to Hampton Roads. I always know that I'm 1 hour from home. It's always clean and well maintained

Very clean restrooms. Well tended rest stop. Felt safe. Got lots of brochures of places to visit.

Clean rest area, lots if info for travelers and plenty of parking.

Clean and open facility. Our football players were good to stretch and grab a snack on a long bus ride. We won our game btw.

Clean bathrooms. Plenty of spaces to park. A place to walk the dogs. Picnic tables. LOVE sign for photo opportunities. Visitor Center with staff available during certain hours. Our favorite once to stop at on our trips since it is the cleanest!!

I love this rest stop! I think this was thought of strategically because leaving from Virginia Beach after breakfast, lunch or dinner going this way is precisely about the right time you have to go to the restroom!

This location is always very well maintained and the grounds are kept clean.

Very clean, nice attendant (girl with locs). Overall, one of the best rest areas I have been to.

Tones of truck parking! About 20 times as much as WB. Lots of picnic tables and standing charcoal pits. A small playground. And a good clean welcome center build. And clean bathrooms.... Oh and apparently a great place for a truck side bbq!
