New Kent Safety Rest Area West

Cute and clean little rest area. Tourism information, vending machines, atm, and even the VA lottery has a machine in there! The view is probably pretty in summer, but it was cold so we didn't really look around too much. Easy on and off access.

This rest area was great for a quick pit stop along a busy interstate. The bathrooms and facilities were clean and tidy. Soap dispensers were full and functional, as were the vending machines. The surrounding land and area was all well maintained and quite scenic. Parking was limited at the time of my visit. Would stop here again!

This is a nice place for a quick stop on interstate 95. The building appears well maintained, and there are numerous vending machines. There are a few picnic areas inside the building and outside.

There are no walking trails, restaurants, or stores, but it’s a nice basic rest stop.

A first class facility. Highway rest area don't come better than this. Ample parking for every kind of vehicle from cars to big rigs.

Clean, well maintained toilet facilities located inside a very modern building. Nice well kept grounds outside.

If you need a quick stop this place is perfect, always clean and with quick access, it has a lot of tourist information also in case you need help, it has a park for puppies which is nice too

Been here quite a few times. It's a nice and peaceful place, with lots of traffic, but ALWAYS kept clean. I love all their VA-centralized fliers and maps. They also have some really cool VA-themed furniture, like the VA state shape trash can you can see in the photo.

Clean rest rooms! Plus lots of vending machines, tourism info, picnic tables, shade trees, great rest stop for dogs with poop bags provided. On a crisp November day, enjoyed the colorful leaves on the trees.

Very clean bathrooms. Very safe area. There was a State Trooper in the parking area standing watch.

Great little rest area. My 3 year old really appreciated the toddler sized toilet. It was all very clean! Will make this a common stop on our VA Beach trips.

clean rest area. lots of drink and snack vending machines. souviner vending machine. coffee vending machines. tables and seats in the vending machine area. lots of restrooms. lots of parking spots. areas to sit down outside. plenty of area for dogs to use the bathroom. maps and tourist brochures. atm machine. clean bathrooms is the main thing. charging station for electronic cars.

Always a clean and safe place to stop at on your way through. Definitely not your average rest stop, and very well maintained.

I mean it's a rest spot...it has what you need. However not to be taken for granted. Note* when Tim Kaine was Governor of Virginia he closed this rest stop to save money...not a wise choice.

Very clean, could use a bit more parking for tractor trail or over sized campers.

These two rest areas....make me glad to be a Hampton roads resident. Clean, convenient and accessible! Plenty of parking and never run down/sketchy.

Very clean and very safe there. Stop there all the time when we come back from the beach on the way home.

This is my pit stop when treveling to Richmond and areas north along the I95 and I295 corridors. The facilities are well maintained, plenty of parking for big rigs, RVs, and automobiles. There are areas for your pets and charging your electric vehicle.

Clean, well lit.. information available, it's a rest area so not a whole lot to say.

The flowers out front are beautiful! The rest area is very clean and well maintained.

Very clean and open rest area. Place inside to sit and eat your picnic. Lots of stalls and vending machines (including Starbucks sandwiches and Virginia for lovers gear😮). Easy to get to for car or trailer.
