Hampton Inn Newport News-Yorktown

We recently stayed at this location. The staff was extremely accommodating to our group. The rooms and facilities were well maintained and clean. Breakfast was very delicious and fresh.
Helen is one of the shining stars of our experience. She is knowledgeable, helpful and a total joy.

The absolute BEST stay I’ve ever had at a Hilton Hotel! And I’m a diamond member with over 70 stays this year! Duane at the front desk needs a RAISE! He was the friendliest staff member I’ve ever met! Every employee I encountered at this Hampton was nice, kind, and extremely helpful! Clean rooms, good breakfast! The cook even came in extremely early to ensure some of the other guests could have a hot breakfast even though they were leaving before the normal breakfast time! 100/100 in my book. Hilton should set the standard by this hotel and its staff!

Pretty much self serve if you have the app. Front desk failed to mention the breakfast buffet and it's hours so we missed it as it's not prominently visible when closed and spent more money on breakfast. Thankfully is across from a shopping center with food options. Construction of the front entrance was in progress on day 2 so it was less than desirable having to trek around the building to get to where I had initially parked on the front in the pouring rain.

We stayed 3 nights and certainly would return. Rooms were clean, secure and comfortable. Duane at the front desk was great, always happy to help. Good location - between the many Museums in the area, without the crazy 64 traffic - meaning you can avoid 64 you want and still get easily there. With the longer stay we were welcomed by Duane to (and we did) use the lobby to play our nightly card game, have a wine and cheese dinner (we picked up at the end of a long day) rather than feeling we should stay in the room. Very pleasant. Pointed out local things to do and helped book our next hotel. Breakfast is the basic Hampton Inn fair, not fancy, but gets you off to a good start, good coffee, staff is very attentive in keeping it stocked and greeting you each day.

One the cleaner hotels in the area, safe and staff is always on point. Great overall but Duane and Emily definitely stand out in my opinion. 5 stars for sure.

Fantastic service, staff, location ( close to great dining options), CLEAN rooms with comfortable beds ( I have a tough time getting any sleep), free breakfast, close to Starbucks, gas stations and a Kroger. The staff, especially Bianca and Emily were very friendly and accommodating. They even helped me with exploring nearby restaurants. Thanks for the tips!

Great stay. Duane at the front desk was phenomenal, so friendly and helpful. Jeff delivers a great breakfast buffet and the laundry was a life saver on the 2nd floor. Gym will work ok---and the a/c was super cool! Terrific value.

Smooth from checkin to checkout. Everyone was friendly and courteous. The room was nice and clean, and there was plenty of space. Also pet friendly.

Had the best experience surprising my grandson who’s in the Military. Staff member, Polly, was walking by my grandson’s room while I was trying to video the surprise visit. I explained the situation & asked if she could please assist to announce room service to get him to open the door. Without hesitation she agreed. The surprise was memorable!!! Thank you Hampton Inn for having such a customer friendly staff who work with a smile. Duane at the front desk is exceptionally courteous and helpful. Polly is awesome—you’ve hired a gem.

Breakfast staff more than accommodating for two hockey teams, when above and beyond to make sure all kids ate breakfast.

Duane was really nice and friendly. My room was clean and ready for my arrival. The digital key always worked and the hotel always smelled pleasant.

For the 3rd time in 3 days, a Hampton in has been my temporary home and knocked it our of the park. Clean comfortable rooms. Breakfast was solid. Beyond friendly staff who made our stay flawless. Not a lot more to ask for a hotel to be honest! 100% stay here!!

Very clean. Pleasant staff. Great breakfast with plenty of options - including waffles, there were scrambled eggs, sausage, and biscuits & gravy. Jeff, who kept the breakfast bar full, was very jovial and happy to help out or have a conversation. He is a role model for other hotel employees in general! (Give him a raise - or bonus! 🙂 )

The staff is amazing, the room was very comfortable, and clean. I informed the front desk that it was my son's birthday and they got him a card. The entire staff signed it and included individual birthday wishes. I was amazed that they went out of their way to make my sons birthday special. It's clear that this team truly cares about customers and thrive on exceeding expectations. If you're looking for a comfortable location with great customers service, restaurants and shopping near by look not further.

I arrived at noon on 9/17. I asked for an early check-in and they were able to accommodate me. The two individuals behind the check-in desk were professional and friendly. The room was very clean and everything I expect at a Hampton Inn. The mattress was comfortable. Large bathroom with enough space for 2. Working microwave/fridge/coffee maker. Ample car/truck parking with a strip mall next door that could be used for overflow of larger trucks/trailers. Breakfast was good. They have a nice selection of fruit, pastries, a waffle maker, grits, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes, juice, and coffee. There were also toast, muffins, and bagels. They offered hot breakfast both days we were there. It changed a little each day (both days were great). Scrambled eggs and bacon were available both days. We wanted to try the pool but opted for going to the beach instead. The pool is 3ft - 5ft. They also have vending machines available for snacks and soda.

All in all this particular hotel was by far one of the nicest I've stayed at since the pandemic. (I travel often for work.) I would highly recommend this hotel to friends, family, and coworkers.

This was one of the best hotel stay experiences starting with my arrival at the front desk.
The Front Desk Representative identified as; Duane was very friendly, courteous, knowledgeable, and professional. Checking in at this Hilton Hampton Inn, Newport News- Yorktown was very reasonable and convenient to the Naval Shipyard in Newport News.
I requested to extend an unplanned extra night in the same room during the weekend to which FD Rep Duane made quickly, easily, and stress free. My Navy son and I both enjoyed the pool and the included breakfast each morning. The FD Rep Duane is definitely a credit to the Hilton family and an asset to the Hampton Inn, New Port News-Yorktown hotel.

Loved it! The employees were very accommodating and friendly. The atmosphere was safe for families and well kept. The staff went above and beyond to make sure our stay was a success, from the very well prepared breakfast, to bending the rules a bit for flexibility with our kids using the swimming pool. We were all very comfortable & safe, zero complaints and would definitely return again.

Excellent place to stay with all the important amenities. A full hot breakfast was served safely, by requesting guest to wear masks and gloves. The policy was enforced by the breakfast attendant, who did not hesitate to kindly tell guests about the policy when they did not comply. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Staff were friendly and helpful. We will be back!

This has been our family's go to hotel for our annual busch gardens trip. It's always a great stay. The staff is always friendly and prompt to attend to your needs. And the continental breakfast is always a great way to wake up. Can't wait to book our next stay. Thank you.
