Earlier this year, I faced an unusual situation with my business landlord regarding an issue with the terms of my lease. At the time, I faced eviction because my landlord failed to meet specific lease terms required for me to begin rent payments. What they failed to realize, however, was that they (and not I) were in breach of our lease terms. Given that my case involved complex commercial lease terms and unusual circumstances surrounding those terms, I needed an attorney who was not only experienced but who had exceptional negotiating and legal research skills to identify a precedent for my particular case. From there, Ms. Thomas worked quickly to file my countersuit and begin communicating with opposing counsel.
