The Fishin' Pig

Place was packed; for a 15-20min wait time it didn't even take that to be seated.....10 I'd say. Heated patio or an outside patio but we ate inside. Booths can fit 6 people comfortably, 8 if it was a family with kids and has a charging port at each table and along the bar (props). Catfish sandwich was huge and delicious and good size drink menu. Definitely a good much stop to eat place.

Delicious BBQ with a wide selection of southern sides from baked beans off the smoker to collard greens. This place will keep you wanting more. Don’t be fooled by its fast food looking exterior this is a nice break from the chain restaurants common to this area. A must see when passing through Farmville, Virginia. A warm and welcoming atmosphere with great service- you will feel like you’re at a backyard barbecue.

Great variety of dishes and absolutely delicious food. I had the Pork & Pollock for lunch and the breading for the fish was so good, light and crispy! The Mac & cheese was perfect and the pulled pork didn't any of the available sauces..
Place is open and very comfy and the service is great.

We stopped here for lunch around 2:00pm on Thursday. Food, service and atmosphere were great!! I am a French fry chick, and the fries were perfect. We decided to eat outdoors because the weather was nice!! Just a few flies trying to join us. 😊 Lots of parking spaces. I would definitely come back. This Restaurant is about an hour and ten minutes from Richmond, VA depending on traffic.

LOVED this joint!!🤩 Decided to check it out, while in the area for a business trip. It far exceeded our expectations! I got the Pulled Pork Combo, with a side of fries and Caesar salad. Mmm.... Pork that literally melts in your mouth, combined with hot crispy fries...🤤 The waitress was super friendly as well. Wish this restaurant was in our hometown!

Trying to figure out when the next time I have time to drive two hours for bbq. Gaaaaah dang they’ve got the best collards I’ve ever had in my life!!!

Catfish was a dream! BBQ was very memorable quality. Wonderful pitchers of craft beers. BBQ sauces were finger licking good. Friendly staff and quick service makes this place a must try. Wish I had taken photos as both the inside and outside were clean and fresh feeling!

We stopped by for a late lunch on our way across the state. Love the fun atmosphere and extensive menu options. The food was excellent, although our fried pickles were a little on the greasy side. The catfish was delicious. The prices were reasonable and we would definitely stop here again.

The fried catfish was amazing and the fresh pork rinds are a must. The food was great and our experience was made even better by our knowledgeable waitress Lisa.

The food was Delicious, service was Amazing in even busy days. The vibe was amazing, family friendly. And great prices! I wished we had one closer by my home state PA.

Busy restaurant and staff handles it well. Attentive, thorough service.
Wife and I had the fried pickle appetizer. Perfect breading and I enjoy pickles sliced lengthwise.
Catfish basket was ample, sides were coleslaw and mac n cheese.
The fish sandwich was enormous.
You get a meal of fish just to be able to close the bun. Then, an entire fish sandwich to finish.
Sides were coleslaw and Mac n cheese.
Either of these entrees were so large they could be split between 2 people.
We sat at the counter. It is a great vantage point to see what the kitchen is putting out, and it gave me some great ideas for my next visit.

I did an order out for shorty's Fish, baskets an the catfish, they very well prepared, Fish perfect, coleslaw delicious, hush puppy's wonderful,very satisfied, still my # 1 Restaurant in Farmville Va always very busy an packed. Keep up the excellent work and service 👏

Seat immediately. Server Felica was friendly and very efficient. Menu and drink prices reasonable. Food was excellent. I had ribs, fries and smoked baked beans. My spouse had catfish bites and the beans. Bathroom was clean.

We ate here via pickup order a day ago. We consistently eat here because the quality of the food is always great. The service/workers are always quick and polite. So far we haven't really had a bad experience here and the food is always consistent. I recommend this as a good BBQ place to locals and we take our family here when they come here. Thank you to the Fishing Pig!

The Fishin’ Pig was great, I had the chicken wings with the death wish sauce.. 😭 🔥 . The half rack of ribs were also a fantastic choice, and I can’t forget about the pork rinds, all in all good experience. I’ll definitely be stopping by again when I am in the area!

First time in with a friend and we both loved it. I love BBQ and eat it all over the south. This was excellent pulled BBQ and there are 3 or 4 sauces on the table. I got the platter which came with slaw and 2 sides, the red skin potato salad and fresh green beans were excellent. My friend got the greens and all the vegetables were freshly made, this is not junk from out of a can. Our waitress was attentive and fantastic. Best of all the meal was reasonably priced and I left stuffed. My friend had so much food he took about half his meal home. I am extremely fussy when it comes to eating out and have no problem leaving bad reviews for bad food and service, but this is a 5 star restaurant and about the best place you can eat in Farmville.
