Carter G Woodson School

I had the opportunity to meet with the math teacher Ajala Wole at the Carter School on 1/8/21 to discuss future projects with students. Ajala Wole cares about students and is one of the most progressive teachers I have ever met. If you are a parent you should meet Ajala Wole and try to get you student in one of his classes. Education is very important to me. I have developed and taught engineering courses all over the world including Europe, South America, Japan, China and India. I have 3 children. One is a teacher and the other 2 are MDs.

My Alma Mater, The Carter G .Woodson School is a place where children go to learn to channel their best selves. A place where pain becomes power, despair becomes hope, knowledge becomes pedagogy, and Common thought becomes Paideia.

This is the place where Change Agents are born and vision is cast. It is not some structural wonderland or haven obscured from reality , It reeks of the tears and hopes of the indigenous, of enslaved persons, and migrants.

Students who attend go on to master their fields of study because of the inner work they've already done, they have purpose in their pursuits because of Carter G. Woodson.

While at Carter G. Woodson, I became president of the Mock Trial Team. In college I continued to implement these new leadership qualities. I learned, and became the Inaugural President of my college's NAACP. I didn't just receive a degree, I was able to contribute to the legacy of my university by envisioning a new program concept, and implementing that program concept in a way that served the world.

Carter G . Woodson Builds Servant-Leaders, with the ability to affect change. Programming followers is an easy task, but molding servant leaders, freethinkers and innovators as Carter G. Woodson does so well, is a laborious task. For this I am so very proud of my Alma Mater!

My experience at this school as a parent was not a good one. The positive of this school is the principal . He is very nice and seems to care about the education of the students. The negative is the staff and the teachers. They are totally disorganized and I ca t say that I blame them, because most issues are out of their control. Anytime I have to constantly email staff to get all the things that are required and barely no one responds or claim they will and they don’t is totally unprofessional. I immediately pulled both of my kids out this school. My daughters first day of orientation was based on conversation about bloods and crips and a teacher showing pictures of guns!! Huh??? I would rather put my kids in their zone school then this school . You cant pay me enough to allow my kids to go there. Schedule is wacky and when my daughter goes to her first class the the teacher already started but yet it does coordinate with her schedule! If you don't mind disorganization and ghetto mentality of some staff and teacher's I would highly recommend this school.

Don't send your kids here either. If you don't like what they serve at lunch which is in the gym, you don't eat at all. They are rude to you and also unorganized. The teachers get to wear whatever they want but you have to wear what they say

This school is unorganized and u can't choose lunch so if you don't like what they serve you can't get anything else

My kids currently attend this school. I will be glad when it is over. They promote segregation and racism.
