Shady Grove United Methodist Church

This is a small community church that the congregation is mostly made up of older individuals. They are welcoming and down to earth atmosphere. Every Wednesday starting at 4 pm they conduct a food distribution for those who need or want food in the community. Again you don't feel belittled or shameful due to the caring atmosphere. The lady who organizes this is very kind and dedicated to this program. She picks up the food herself which is a heavy task in itself. They ordinarily give one bag of frozen meats to each family and you have the opportunity to pick through all of the other groceries available. They have mostly fresh fruit and vegetables. Also there are a lot of breads, cakes, pies, and occasionally you might receive a bag with toiletries or other items from CVS or similar that have clearance, closeout, or returns. They do provide plastic bags and some cardboard boxes for you to place what items you choose to carry home, but I recommend you bring your own reusable cloth bags with handles or something that has some strength because you can take what you want.

Such a wonderful church. My mother and father been going there for years. Where me and my wife were married.
