The best southern style hotdogs hands down in the area...maybe even the best hotdogs in North Carolina! Walking into Ashworth's is like stepping back into time. The staff is friendly and nice, and the prices are so great that you'll forget it's 2024! Daily specials keep this place crowded. I come here every time I'm in the area. I love it!!

Great place for a quick, inexpensive lunch, reminiscent of the classic lunch counters from the 50's and 60's (not that that I was around then!). They are famous for their hot dogs, which are delicious, but make sure you get a lemonade or orangeade as well. They are made by hand to order.

I am so impressed with the staff and Pharmacy!
As a new resident of Cary, my doctor recommended Ashworth for several reasons. They are family owned, friendly and do delivery services. I was able to provide my personal information on the phone and they delivered my medicine on the same day the script arrived! They made me feel cared for and that cannot be overstated. 5 ✨

I grew up in Cary and this is almost the only business left from when I was a kid. The Cary village mall, circus, and many others,, gone. Not to mention countless historical homes. I sure hope they never get rid of this old time drug store. It would break my heart! ❤

You’ll not find a better pharmacy! I started getting meds from Ashworth when I moved to Cary in 1999. When I moved farther out, it seemed silly to go half an hour to the pharmacy. It’s not. These folks attend to the details. For example, I have a medication that should be refrigerated before use - and they were the first to put a warning label on the container saying that. They’re also great with processing refills, transfers, and answering your questions. They also have a great selection of drugstore items! Judging by the size of the store, you wouldn’t expect much, but big-name competitors don’t stock regular strength Tylenol, Coban, and other helpful items. Ashworth has them. Other places get many of these things right, but few check all the boxes!

If you’re downtown at lunchtime, check out the lunch counter! It’s a popular spot.

Wish it was worth the parking but it’s no longer worth the trip after todays visit. 5 stars for the manager there, I was only going to leave a 3 star but this guy you could tell was the only reason this place is still running. I’m sure if he wasn’t doing everything he’d have time to fix the simple issues I had with my visit outside of parking. The menus could be fixed by the on duty employees gossiping with off duty employees. I’m sure the manager was taking a well needed break but I was ready to leave, didn’t feel welcomed the entire time, maybe they just had a rush or something

Step into Ashworth and you’re instantly taken back to an American classic small town restaurant. Big Parts Unknown vibes. Historic pharmacy with hot dogs, sandwiches and ice cream, served the same way for over 60 years.

Customer service is top drawer. Came in today with my little boys and they loved the experience. One of them had to rush to the bathroom, so I had to take both with me and they threw out our lunches...we didnt have much left, because they thought we left. They were so apologetic and replaced the things we weren't finished with. Great place to sit for a quiet lunch and friendly people.

This place holds so many great childhood memories for me. My mom would take me there for a fresh orange or lemon drink. It was right down the road from my school from 3-5th grade(now the Cary Arts Center). It is still the same 43 years later.

Ashworth Drugs is the place to be in Cary. It's the one place that never changes. Whenever I go there, I'm filled with nostalgia. We grew up going there for our medicine, from the yummy pink stuff to cold syrup. The pharmacists offered friendly, helpful advice that got me through a few ailments. They always had a fantastical, enticing collection of kids' toys which made every visit worth it, just so I could stare at them. And best of all, their bright red chili dogs, orangeade, and ice cream are divine!

Best Root Beer float I have ever have. They also have self serve chips, a pharmacy with just about everything you could possibly need. Also a Great Nostalgia Blast for anyone who grew up near one of these things.

Paul Ashworth is a very kind and considerate pharmacist. He was attentive and took time to understand our situation as new comers to the area. We’d highly recommend him and his pharmacy.

Hands down some of the best customer service ever. My girlfriend broke her leg and sprained her other ankle. We needed a wheel chair that had leg supports. Come to find out that no one really carries them for rental. The lady at the counter called around to other places to try and find us one. We finally found one and the price was fairly high but not over the top. Mr. Ashworth came out and told us he would buy a new one for the store and have it by 11 am the next morning. And for the same price as their other chairs. They even gave us the basic chair for a day while we waited. Little acts like this of taking care of your customers is why my family continues to support them.

Ashworths has been a family tradition throughout most of my childhood, I’m so happy it’s still up and running and keeps the same atmosphere of when I’d go back with my family in the 90’s. The hot dogs, orangeade and friendly faces keep me coming back!

Summary: The best pharmacy I ever had a prescription filled at!

Details: My insurance would not cover my drug. Mr. Ashworth called insurance company to understand why, and then explained to me that this particular drug was sold to another company that did not have a partnership with my company. (Most pharmacists would just say drug not covered, and they do not know why.) Next, he recommended a similar drug that was covered by my insurance. Then, he called my doctor, and asked the doctor to re-write me a new prescription. This is how excellent customer service should be!

Want to have a glimpse at how your grand parents ordered sodas. Ashworth drugs is a wonderful throw back to when the local drug store was the center of activity in downtown. Ashworth's offers a real lunch counter serving up remarkable hot dogs and milk shakes as well as other sandwiches. This establishment is part of the historical make-up of downtown Cary, opening in 1957. Ashworth's is the corner stone of the Ashworth Village which harbors several other noteworthy shops such as Blue Moon cafe and Serendipity deli. If you go... make sure to try the Orange-aid... it is a true classic. Also, remember to stop in around Christmas and see if you can spot the Elf on the Shelf.

My family has used Ashworth’s for years, and we’ve never had a bad experience. Whenever my parents go in, they ask about me, my brother, and my grandmother. They know all of us by name, and that is one of the things I love most. Because Ashworth’s was near school, and now I work in Ashworth’s Village, I go for food occasionally, and they’re always fast, and the food is delicious.
