WVU Financial Aid Office

The WVU financial aid staff has professionally assisted me with all of my questions. They were always able to answer my questions or call me back when they didn't know the answers right away. It was very easy to get a live person on the phone. 5 stars! Thanks!

Coming from another institution (out of state), I can attest to how wonderful the financial aid office at WVU truly is. I have called multiple times and they've been able to assist me with my questions. If they were unable to give me an immediate answer, they either emailed me back later or gave me contact information for the appropriate department. The staff are kind, resourceful, and really want to help you out.

Donovan was great and VERY helpful. Really conveyed the information in a way that was easy to understand. Also helped me resolved a confusing problem I’ve been having all year. Thank you for your great customer service!!

If I could give 0 stars, I would. They have continually charges me wrong amounts, over-refunded me, and then expect me to pay HUNDREDS of dollars back within 3 days. They admitted to messing up, yet will do nothing to help me out on my end. Thanks a lot, WVU financial aid office...

Staff are professional and respectful. However, their rules and protocols create financial burden for students. As a professional student who relies on loans for living expenses, their funding estimates do not account for gas, increased cost of living, or vehicle maintenance. Requesting more funds requires multiple steps, including receipts and program specific travel logs. Only after the Dean of my school interceded did they approve my request for loans covering fuel expenses.

I have called countless times about my plus loan and have been assured I would recieve them and still havent. They gave me a one week deadline to pay my balance before being removed but wont give me the loans I was accepted for on the deadlines they set themselves. Absurd.

Was insulted by multiple members of their staff. Was told that I owe back part of a scholarship, even though their own guidance states: " Students will have the scholarship reduced to the annual values listed below OR removed from their financial aid offer, if the student previously qualified for the Metro tuition rate. If a student changes back to non-resident tuition rates, the Transfer Scholarship will not be increased or reinstated.’’. Their guidance states nothing about charging or indebting students for changes (which they said multiple times that there was a change). ONLY that future related scholarships will reflect the change. They are trying to stonewall me into paying or taking out a loan. I have provided multiple times to work with them for a mutually beneficial result but with no luck for results. This would be no issue if it were a couple hundred dollars, but we are talking thousands about a scholarship that I was correctly given, then a change happened. I would highly recommend that anyone receiving a scholarship from WVU be very weary or they may come after you.

WVU HUB People = lovely. WVU HUB process = awful. Unfortunately, the people can't fix the process.

Absolutely awful, I've been put on hold for an hour every time I call. This university sucks, and I want my tuition back ;-;
