Great cozy spot for excellent food and drinks. Started with the seafood soup of the day, then pastrami sandwich and chicken salad with oranges and cilantro dressing. Sangria and beer were great. Atmosphere great, service great, drinks great, food great and prices great. Can’t find any faults here, best hidden joint in Galena. Coming back here everytime.

Embe was clutch during the Sidewalk Sale weekend. My husband and I were seated immediately when a restaurant down the block had a 45 minute wait. The service was SO friendly and kind. We got The Embe with sweet onion chips and Embe's Cuban with salt salt chips. The Embe was absolutely delicious and Embe's Cuban was just a little bit more delicious (I think it was the mustard horseradish dijon). Both were tasty and hit the spot. Quick, friendly service and the prices are more than fair! We would definitely go back!

The best sandwich in all of Galena. Been doing reviews for over 5 years can't say enough of this hidden gem. Ryan is excellent and very friendly. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who is coming to Galena. Travel photographer from Galena.

For being rather busy, the service was with a smile and patience! The owner, Katie (?), showed excellent grace under fire! She did her best to seat our group immediately at the bar area until a table was readied and was very professional! I highly recommend Embe Eatery and PS: the food was delicious, and the LIIT was perfect!

Amazing experience from the service to the food!! Our waiter was The best!! We decided to try a few of their cold sandwiches and went with the egg salad and the ham and turkey. The ham and turkey was by far the best cold meat sandwich I've ever had in my life! I would highly recommend food and drinks Embe. The coleslaw is great too.

Great establishment with friendly and attentive bartenders. Our drinks were decently priced ,delicious, and the seafood soup was absolutely phenomenal. We definitely will return when staying in Galena again.

Update.. We returned here recently with friends and had to bring them here to share in our experience. This time I had the Cuban and my wife had the Embe sandwich. We all shared chips and queso and she and I both had bowls of our favorite seafood chowder. Love this place...

This is my favorite bar & grill in Galena. It's a smaller place that has tons of charm and is always busy. Lots of wood and portraits of rock legends!Excellent food and nothing deep fried! Great staff and the owner is always there. A few things highly recommend are the seafood chowder, bread pudding and Embe Lager! Go there!

What a great after hours place, (open til midnight). We were at Concert in Turner Hall and when it ended decided to stop at Embe Lounge. Arrived late, say 10:00 p.m. and was greeted by the bartender Ryan. What a great Welcome! I felt like I'd been there before .. but it was our 1st time in. Had a great glass of wine... And ordered some fresh fish chowder soup..... It was D E L I C I O U S!

Family road trip and stopped in Galena for a bit. Found this cool soup restaurant! They are one of the few restaurants in Galena that still make all their food from scratch- you can tell! Everything was delicious, home made taste. I got the mushroom soup with the "almost famous" Charlie sandwich and wow, top notch. This will definitely be a staple each time our family visits Galena. Thank you Charlie & Team for the great hospitality and warm welcome. If you are doubting visiting this place, don't! Walk through those doors, you WILL NOT be disappointed.

Small bar with dining tables; great food and service. Last year in September, we ordered food very late as it was the only place still serving food at that late of night, and though it was just sandwiches, they were made well. This year we dined in and had a great experience and food. The soups were excellent and unique, and the sandwiches were very tasty with great bread from a local bakery. The server suggested variations for our drink specials that wowed us as well.

Went here on two separate occasions on back to back days. We sat at the bar in both visits and enjoyed various martinis and had a sandwich and soup. The bartenders were quick and made very tasty, fun cocktails. The menu is quite limited and focuses on sandwiches that have pastrami, turkey, corned beef, etc. I indulged in a hot ham and cheese paired with their tomato soup that day. It was the perfect chilly weather lunch. There isn't a ton of seating but tables seem to turn around rather quickly so getting a seat isn't too much of a pain. Large TVs to watch games if that is an interest of yours.

Excellent service! We opted to sit outside even though it was a toasty day, although this impacted our decision to not get soup. Our server was attentive and brought us everything quickly.

When I couldn’t decide between two of the homemade salad dressings for my side salad, she brought out taster cups of both so I could try them both. They were both delicious but the strawberry daiquiri vinaigrette won out!

I had the side salad with the aforementioned strawberry daiquiri vinaigrette and a pulled pork sandwich. The meal was absolutely delicious. I was so happy with every bite.

We will be back for soup one day hopefully and to try other items on the menu!

Seafood Chowder was soup of the day and is definitely a pleasant delicacy in this landlock town. Very delicious with crab, lobster and shrimp. The staff is very customer oriented and accommodates a gluten free diet v

Great little sandwich salad and soup shop! We stopped for lunch. Would highly recommend it. Homemade soups and sauces that have all the flavor you’re looking for. Nice beer wine and cocktail selection as well.

The food was excellent, service was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere is casual and relaxed. There is a nice selection of on-tap beers, cocktails, and wine.

First time dining here and I was not disappointed. The cocktail menu is full of fun cocktails and the menu covers everything you would want from a sandwich place. BBQ chicken sandwich was delicious and the root beer float martini was as well. I will definitely come back next time I'm in Galena.

Great place for a quick bite and brew. Many cocktails and craft beers to choose from, and delicious sandwiches. Queso appetizer was great as well.

We had the opportunity to eat outside - very fast, kind, and attentive service. Each and every one of the staff we interacted with was great. Very reasonable prices and the food was delicious!! (Pictured: Embe Salad, Embe's Cuban, and a seafood soup)

There last weekend. Went a little early for supper because it was Friday. Husband had bowl of seafood chowder special which he enjoyed. I had cup mushroom soup (menu item) which was excellent and flavorful. I also had the the corned beef brisket sandwich. Very good, not fatty. Had the horseradish mustard on the side because I like horseradish but not mustard, but the mustard was not overpowering. Coleslaw was good with light (not mayo) dressing. Note this is more bistro type food, not grill. No burgers or fried food. We shared the bread pudding (menu) for dessert, also good. Staff was very attentive and answered questions patiently and thoroughly. I tried to tip about 25-30%, which I usually stick to 20. They are a bar also, but we did not have alcohol. It appears they have some specialty wines per board. Would definitely go there again should we ever go back to Galena.
