Vinny Vanucchi's

Vinny’s will officially go down in the books as one of the best Italian spots I’ve ever been to. I knew we were going to Galena so I did some research beforehand about where we wanted to do dinner and every search result / magazine I found recommended here. So we went.

The atmosphere is adorable, and you feel like you’re in Italy. I kicked off my meal with a French martini and salad with their house made raspberry vinaigrette. Their garlic bread is some of the best I’ve ever had, and it pairs beautifully with their chicken Marsala. I split tiramisu with my parents and it lasted less than 30 seconds, we basically inhaled it.

If you’re in Galena for the day, pop in here for some food or a drink. You can thank me later.

Super quaint place to visit. Nice atmosphere, great service. Went with a friend, but could also be very romantic if in the right relationship - point is it is for anyone and you feel welcome and at ease... not stuffy or pretentious. Beautiful view - better without the rain, but at the same time the rainy windows and streets added to it! Food was delicious - compared to Normal American plates, not a lot of food, but the amount was perfect to eat the whole meal and be very satisfied. The cosmopolitan drink was perfectly tasting and smooth. I would definitely go back!

I was very impressed with their reaction to my gluten allergy. I have Celiac and when i told the waiter I have a gluten allergy, he immediately told me he’d let the kitchen know to use the gluten free pasta (not many restaurants have gluten free pasta to begin with) and that my salad will be separate than my family’s so that it excludes gluten containing ingredients. I was shocked at their amazing response! Loved this place, the food was amazing and the staff is great!

Good afternoon everyone. Came here for the first time and had an Italian Beef. It was good but needed more spice. Miguel our server was fantastic. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone in Galena. The atmosphere is amazing. Travel Photographer living in Galena.

Vinny Vanucchi's is a wonderful Italian restaurant in the heart of downtown Galena. We had a group of six and we are glad that we made a reservation for a Saturday night. We love their garlic bread and family style salad. The chicken parmesan was fantastic as well as the veal parmesan and the eggplant Parmesan. We appreciate that they have gluten-free pasta options. The lemon marscapone a cake was fantastic! John our server was friendly and accommodating. We definitely will go back! 5-stars!

Delicious Italian food. If you want to share a meal you're better off to order soup and salad,then share a meal there's a plate charge otherwise. I love the atmosphere It's beautiful in Galena. sitting outside was wonderful

Good Italian food! Service is good and different rooms are decorated with different themes. Their music room is impressive!

Garlic bread is good but it tasted like Kraft Parmesan cheese on the bread.

Excellent comfort Italian food! The Italian beef sandwich is a perfect lunch entree with tasty salad and garlic bread complements.

Love this place! Last year we hosted our rehearsal dinner here and it was amazing! Everyone enjoyed the food and the whole Vinny Vanucchi's team was easy to work with. This past Saturday we were able to have dinner here to celebrate our 1st wedding anniversary. The food was great! The owner was warm and attentive. He was going from table to table to chat with patrons. He ended up at our table for quite some time and we enjoyed his conversation. He was genuine and we liked learning more about the restaurant's history. I would highly recommend it!

I literally can't explain how good the food was. I loved everything I got to try. The garlic bread was unreal. The house salad was good. My family got a variety of things, a burger, a plate of oversized pasta stuffed with cheese, a spaghetti in olive oil and herbs and a soup. All amazing. It is a bit pricey but I sure am not complaining.

Amazing Italian restaurant with delicious pasta dishes. There's enough salad and garlic bread to make anyone happy. The decor inside transports you straight to Italy. A must try in Galena.

What a great experience. We had a great server and the food and drinks were excellent. Can't wait to come back.

Came back and got to sit in the quaint table in window.
Our food was delicious, our drinks on point and our server Megan was great. She took care of us and had a nice chat at the end our meal.

A tradtion we will always come back to.

Tortellini carbonara is the best, in my opinion.

A few stairs to the entrance off Main Street each step closer to the great smells of Italian food. VV has delightful authentic Italian dishes served in a quaint dining experience. The service was great, the food choice was plentiful and the price is on par for the dining experience. Evening times are often booked so do yourself a favor and call ahead. Worth the wait and the climb.

Our server Nathalia was superb! She greeted us with kindness and had great recommendations! The atmosphere is incredible in this historic area of Galena Downtown. My seafood Alfredo (minus the scallops per my request) was the best I’ve had and our drinks were delicious. Thank you so much Nathalia for making our first experience at Vinny’s so great. We will be back certainly ❤💯

The food was 2nd to their amazing service -the food was absolutely delicious, don't get me wrong, but the waiter was accommodating, patient, and friendly. He even got me some extra marinara for my leftovers (my dad also loved getting to try the stuffed shells with sauce, he says thank you for that).

Outstanding!!! We had a large afternoon funeral luncheon here with 60 adults and children. We had a spacious and beautiful private room with our own private bar and a full team of servers/bartenders. The food was plentiful and delicious. We chose the deluxe group party package and it was amazing. The desserts were decadent and generous. Our event was a huge success - family and friends were raving about it all night. Vinny's was exceptional in every way!

Vinny Vanucchi’s is a great restaurant! Wonderful seating outdoors, and indoors entrées are delicious and garlic. Bread is super along with salads. I’ve never been in a restaurant that had Dom Perignon on the wine champagne menu but Vinny Vanucchi’s does… Pretty cool service was excellent parking is difficult because it’s Galena… But all you have to really do is park in the master lots and walk over the bridge

Little Italy for certain! (not that I've been there but what I expect). The food was awesome. I got Auntie Gracie's entree. Spicy sausage mushrooms piled with cheese. Our waitress said "we like cheese here!"
Family style salad and buttered garlic bread. Bread was definitely buttery and a thick tasty layer of garlic. Mmmm.
Then the desserts. Tiramisu and chocolate cake with whipped cream. A flourless torte really as it was the gluten free option. Both were exquisite...
The family and extended family met for a post Christmas gathering. Everyone very happy and full... beautiful Italian music playing in the background.
The restaurant structure was also fascinating. Across two street levels as it's a very hilly area. The upstairs bathroom was reached by going outside the dining area through a small veranda and then in another connecting building. In the bathroom I noticed the floor was a little unlevel due to the older hilly area. Fun. Would've been even more interesting had I had the wine too! And the pictures. Original shipped from Italy of the original family. Apparently they had quite the expense and troubles with customs. Glad they did it. Really added to the atmosphere! Also a menu for gluten free.

Tim Wagner was our server and he was amazing! Me and some friends came from Mississippi, so we had no idea what to expect. I have a dairy allergy and he was phenomenal about accommodating me. I have worked in the service industry and no one has been as good as him!

House salad and garlic bread were excellent, and waitress made sure to ask for seconds. Salad has a great Italian vinaigrette. That could've been the whole meal and I'd be satisfied. Stuffed pasta shells were underwhelming, serving feels small, and taste is just ok, but didn't leave me satisfied. My wife loved the seafood linguine she ordered.
