El Potro Mexican Restaurant

If you want Good authentic Mexican Food this is the spot. Really good order the Tampiquena asada steak it was the bomb the salsas they have are delicios. The waiters are always there asking if is everything ok. Good food portions atmosphere is great. Real authentic Mexican food.

The staff was very nice. My wife ordered a Burrito (see picture), too much to finish. I ordered the Enchiladas Mexicanas (see picture) very tasty. Overall, we would definitely recommend this restaurant.

It was a nice walk 750 meters just under a 1/2 mile down the street from. The pilot truckstop.
As with everything in this Covid-19 era all protocols were in place, from masks required, sanitizer by the entry etc..

Service was great, food was properly prepared and my requests were all taken care of.
Things like having them bring some salsa Verde in addition to their regular salsa fir the chips. Having them add fresh jalapenos to be grilled up with the rest if the peppers and onions. Extra napkins etc..

Was able to get a to go container for the leftovers including a paper bag for chips and 2 small containers for each of the salsas.

It was a great meal and have absolutely no complaints. Place ran like a well oiled machine. Will probably be back here again at some point.

Wow, the best grilled veggies EVER! Love the Mexican dip too. Friendly people, and I am very picky eater. Will be back next in Troy.

Wow, everything was so tasty & jumping with flavor! The Salsa was amazing, I had the Enchiladas Mexicana and my better half had a Taco Salad. Prices are very reasonable and service was fast.

I’m from Arizona where there’s lots of good Mexican food. I thought this place was great. I got the carne asada burrito that comes smothered in cheese. I also really liked their salsa.

Service was excellent! Food was good. Had the Chili Verde with chicken. Really good Chili Verde! Just the right amount of heat to it. Enjoyed outside dining.

Had dinner with wife, daughter and grandkids 3-17-23. Had enchiladas and fajitas both very good. Fajitas had generous beef and chicken and shrimp were cooked to perfection. Kids enjoyed their kid's meals: The Grand Margaritas were excellent. Val was our waitress and was very prompt and friendly. Good food, fairly priced, clean, fast, kid-friendly and very friendly staff. A good place in Troy for a fun dinner. We will go back again.

Amazingly delicious food. Ate everything on the plate. Loved coming here to get burritos and enchiladas. Overall one of the best Mexican places I have ever been to. Only thing is I wish it was a tad bit cheaper.

Great chips and salsa! The food was great, I had a chicken lunch fajitas. Came out hot and sizzling with fresh sides of lettice, tomatoes, Cilantro and sour cream. Service was great too.

Great family owned local authentic mexican food. Good value. Great salsa and guacamole. And can buy ala cart. Great for takeout as well!

New to the area and wanted to find Mexican carryout. The food was absolutely DELICIOUS. I ordered a fajita quesadilla with rice and beans and was given generous portions, so I saved half for leftovers and they were just as amazing!!! We didn't realize we also were given chips and salsa, too. What a pleasant surprise! Already thinking of our next trip here!
