We're so thankful our dog Nova had such an amazing team for her Cataract Surgery. There were many unknowns going into the process, and Dr. Beyer was always very real and straightforward with us about the risks and details surrounding the surgery. They have been exceptional at answering our questions and making time for any urgent or routine follow ups. We know our girl is in good hands for the future! Highly recommend this office.

What a AWESOME office! We arrived early because we were coming from far away and they were so accommodating. Dr Beyer was so nice and knowledgeable. She took the time to explain everything. Free gifts for the dog on the way out too!!! Thank you so much!

Eye Care for animals was fantastic! The receptionist was SO kind. She helped us navigate through some challenges when making the appointment with such understanding and ease. Dr. Buyer was extremely clear and explained everything to us in a way that clear and digestible. She was patient and didn't make us feel rushed. She and the staff clearly care about animals and are through and excellent at what they do! Thank you for caring for our sweet pup!

Our cat Jeffrey had eye surgery there. We were scared he will have issues with the eye. This place is top notch, very knowledgeable Vet, very friendly staff. Highly recommended. Surgery turned out great, his eye is healing very nicely. Thank you!

Dr. Anne Beyer and staff were amazing and very helpful with my pet, Stardust. We are appreciative for the guidance and care that you have provided and that you continue to provide for Star. We are grateful to have found a place where my family can trust that he is in good hands and is on the right path to recovery. I would 10/10 recommend to friends and family for the best ophthalmology services in the area for your animal’s eye care needs!

We needed a semi-urgent appointment for our dog. Although it was a bit of a drive to St. Charles (the Wheeling office had no appointments available), it was well worth the trip. Dr. Beyer and the entire staff were wonderful. The staff was welcoming and explained procedures, possible wait time, and what to expect. Dr. Beyer and her assistant were so very kind to our dog. Dr. Beyer explained her diagnosis and the treatment options. Highly recommend Eye Care for Animals-St. Charles!

I had to change practice for my dogs eye specialist. Last place was Animal I Care Elgin. I spent more than 20,000 there and all I will say is that I was heart broken to have to switch Dr. at this stage of treatment. Dr. Lindey at animal eye care not Eye care for animals needs to really needs to get out of the practice. She is a cruel person as you can read in the hundreds of reviews. Anyway it wasn't as hard as I thought. This place, the entire staff is kind and compassionate on top of knowing there stuff. I thank God for these professionals. Take my word they are the best.

My 12-year-old cat, Rumpel, has been through so much in the last few months from being diagnosed and cured of Hyperthyroidism to needing Entropion surgery. He was squinting, and his eye was producing discharge. I originally brought him to his primary care vet who diagnosed him with a corneal ulcer and prescribed drops. Entropion was briefly mentioned, and after a week of drops, I still noticed significant eyelid rolling, and hair was constantly rubbing the surface of his eyeball.

I made an appointment for him to be looked at by Dr. Beyer. The front desk receptionist was thorough and kind. Once at his appointment, the tech was also kind and mentally present throughout the information-gathering portion of our visit. Dr. Beyer took a good look at both of Rumpel's eyes and diagnosed him with Entropion of the right eye. Different treatment options were discussed. I decided on the surgery route as it sounded to be the best and most permanent solution. (Certainly not the cheapest!) I was able to make an appointment for the surgery about 2 weeks from that day, and they sent me home with some medication to prevent any infection or further damage to the eye.

I was kept well informed the day of his surgery, and the office followed up the next day to see how he was doing. The actual incision looked precise and cleanly done. (This is important to note. Some of the photos of this surgery online appear so crude and "rough." Dr. Beyer is a specialist and, yes, this facility is probably going to cost you more than if you have it done at your primary care vet)

It was difficult having to keep Rumpel's hard plastic cone on for a full 2 weeks, but he adjusted to the awkwardness pretty quickly. Overall I am so happy with the whole process!

Thank you, Dr. Beyer and staff <3

Dr Beyer and the staff were attentive and explained all the options. It was a sucky situation. With their knowledge and expertise, we were able to make the best decision.

Our chihuahua had an emergent eye wound. They stayed open past their normal hours to see us as we were 1hr away from the available office. Vet tech and doc were kind and very knowledgeable. They sent us home with the medications we needed instead of having to go to a pharmacy the next morning. The meds were prescribed based on what was given at the Vet Medic. The drug interactions and after care were clearly explained to me. I'm so grateful to this office and their wonderful staff. Absolutely recommend.

Everyone at this facility is fantastic to work with. My elderly dog has been having various eye issues for about a year and we have been to Eye Care for Animals several times.
Laurie at the front desk is super friendly and kind.
Dr. Beyer is very thorough and gentle with my little guy. She answers all my questions and genuinely seems to care about the well being of her patients. On one occasion, her schedule was too busy to fit my dog in on short notice. Dr. Beyer coordinated with my regular vet and asked them to do some specific tests and followed up with me on what treatment to do. I absolutely appreciate everything she does! She always goes the extra mile!
I highly recommend this facility, Doctor, and staff!

I brought my Shih Tzu here for cataract surgery. It has been an amazing experience. Aside from the fact that my little guy can now see!! (which I cannot even put into words how amazing it has been to see him go from struggling due to almost complete blindness to now being able to see and look right at me), the staff was amazing.

They were transparent and attentive through the whole process. They were very knowledgeable, and I feel my guy received a high level of specialized care. I could also tell that they treated my little guy with lots of love while he was there. Not just from the way that they talked about him (which was always affectionate and caring), but after the surgery when the Vet Tech brought him out to me, there was a moment when she spoke and he turned his head towards her with lots of affection. That’s how you know... The Vet had said my little guy wanted to be carried around like a baby, and I’m pretty sure I know who was doing a lot of the puppy holding. 🥰

Super happy with my experience and I’m wholly confident that if my little guy had thumbs he would be writing this same review.

Thank you!

I found Eye Care for Animals after my veterinarian for 30 years didn't have time to look at my dog for an eye emergency. I called their emergency number and was immediately called back by a very kind and sympathetic person. She was able to direct me to their office and advised me to be present at opening. When my dog was finally seen, I was called back by the doctor who spent a great deal of time explaining my dog's condition.
I am so grateful to have found them. They are a rarity in the veterinary world.

I moved to Illinois from Connecticut in July 2020 and noticed my dog was having trouble with her vision. I found Eye Care for Animals through the internet and from the first call I placed until our appt it was wonderful. Staff was caring and compassionate. The doctor explained her exam findings with me in detail and gave me options. Sadly, my sweet girl is blind and it cannot be reversed but she is otherwise happy and healthy and has an excellent quality of life. We have another appt in 6 months. I would recommend this vet to my family and friends. Excellent care.
