Harner's Bakery Restaurant

I've only ever gone here for the donuts, they are delicious. Very crispy and light and airy on the inside. They also sell cake donuts and other pastries. Get here early if you like custard donuts since they are the first to sell out. Definitely the best donuts in the area and easily accessible business. The long John's are really good, very thick layer of icing. There's so many options it can be hard to choose. They also serve breakfast and make pretty much everything.

On a cold and misty Saturday evening in October I traveled north on 31 toward Geneva. I saw a tall tower lit up in the night sky near the Fox River Trail and remembered that Harner’s was open for dinner. I arrived a bit late and even close to closing time they were happy to seat me! I sat at the dinning table with circular stools over looking the delicious bakery treats. I enjoyed the Homemade Minestrone and best Salad Bar Around (reminding me of my Wisconsin Supper Club dinners)

I enjoyed the Prime Rib Special and experience wonderful service. I enjoyed listening the staff work together to close up the restaurant. You can tell a lot by how coworkers work together and this place is the magical spot where everything that is right and good still exists in the world.

A great meal. Great service. Even the clientele was great. It is a must go. ❤☀

Great local experience. We bought a variety of food to test out their food and to my surprise EVERYTHING WAS delicious. Definitely a must try if you’re in Aurora area

When we arrived to the the smell of pork and chicken on the pit outside… only to be greeted by cases of baked goods inside! Service at the bakery was top notch, and we picked 3 dozen donuts to take back to the group of teens we were on a trip with. (They slammed them for breakfast the next morning!) the donuts were amazing, even though we waited to eat them! Dinner for me was a pork chop & quarter chicken with baked beans and sweet potato fries. I had to include a pic of my friend’s toast that came with his meal! The food was delicious, and our server was amazing. Harner’s is on the list of places I will be taking my husband to, the next time we are traveling through or around the area! Oh- and if you ask super nice, the bakery counter might even give you a couple of butter cookies to munch on, as you leave…

Ordered the corned beef farmers breakfast, it was good! First time being here, and learned that they roast a whole pig at the 1st Friday of the month! Will come back again.

The place seems pretty popular. It was Saturday brunch when I went. They have a bakery up front. The wait time for my group was 5 min.

Incredible food. I was seated in a pretty bleak side room not near any of the windows overlooking the river, so didn't get much of the ambience of the main dining area, but it certainly didn't detract from the DELICIOUS food! Stocked homemade soup and salad bar was SO delicious. And the homemade meatloaf, mashed potatoes, and mushroom gravy were both filling and pleasureful. Wait staff was top knotch - friendly, attentive, and went out of their way to make everything enjoyable. Truly awesome lunch experience.

The menu was top-notch, and the service was impeccable. Great classic menu items such as Buckwheat pancakes and a great atmosphere while overlooking the Fox River. I would happily eat there again.

Outstanding good old fashion service! So many Bakery goods to choose from, and they are absolutely delicious! I have been going here since I was a child, it really hasn't changed much. The service is still great, the food still taste like grandma home cooking and there isn't a bad dessert. The seating is comfortable and plenty. Definitely check out harner's Bakery!

Oh lordy where to start, the breakfast was scumptous along with Jennifer being a amazing waitress.
The half order of biscuits & gravy was as good as mine, that's a first for me.
Now the Bakery is da bomb, so so many choices.
You have to go there to understand as you'll see in my pictures.
Prices on both the restaurant & bakery are so reasonable, besides supporting a local business.
Fresh everything, my car smelled like a bakery for a couple of hours.
Down the road one block is a fabulous view of Fox River to boot.

Old Fashion diner/ Bakery. Delicious beer batter fish fry! Crispy and moist . I will diffently be back. Top notch. Don't change a thing.

Absolutely the best for a old time type supper club! The food and salad bar are outstanding! The bakery is truly worth the trip and makes everything fresh daily! It makes you feel like you stepped back in time!

A totally whole family atmosphere experience is one of the strong points with Harner's and being a local business that I have been able to dine in.

Breakfast plates are plentiful.
yet to have lunch or dinner but will soon.
The pastry is always fresh, and the variety is very good.

Customer service is the other great point, never a negative attitude.

The catering is the last point I would recommend for any occasion. Having my company use them, the employees have had a great experience.

I worked here years ago as a teen and think of it often. The bakery is wonderful. It’s family owned and everything is made from scratch. I live in Texas now and wished they shipped. I’ve never found a better bakery in all these years. The butter pecan coffee cake is 10/10.

This is one of my favorite breakfast place to go. We usually sit at d counter. The Hobo omelette one egg, wheat toast, hash browns & side of their homemade cranberry jelly. It’s Delicious
Before covid if u had to wait in line you could help yourself to cookies on a plate by d check out. But not anymore, On our way out we take home the walnut coffee cake WOW you will not be disappointed best coffee cake ever 😀

The biscuits and gravy were amazing. I gotta be honest, they were probably the best biscuits and gravy I've ever had. Everyone from the staff to the people at the table beside ours was friendly, the food was great, and I just felt completely at home here. Plus the bakery smelled like a corner of heaven!

Great breakfast. Hung it out for one of the specials: a chili omelette. Was uncertain but it was good. My 89 year old father had the polish sausage breakfast with Harner’s superb cinnamon rasping toast and onion ‘infused’ hash browns. A great Aurora institution.

My go to when I am in town. Loved it when I lived nearby.
They also made my wedding cake almost 50 years ago

Chicken was very good, could just have used a little more flavor. The server was so nice. Acorn squash was offered as a vegetable which I loved. Will definitely be back.

Everything was perfect! ALL the staff was helpful, friendly, and attentive. Food was very well priced and delicious! We waited 20 mins to get seated but it was worth every second!
