What a great spot! Cannot wait to check it out this summer and enjoy their outdoor space.

We caught the tail end of their winter menu and I'm so glad we did! The jalapeno margarita was spot on.

I also had the soup of the day, a mushroom cheddar, and the Italian grinder salad. Both exceptional.

My husband had the burger and I was a bit jealous but was thankful to have a few bites.

The food was excellent and there was a beautiful presentation! The prices are comparable and you get a decent amount of food for the price. The menu has a good variety of seafood. They don't have a kids menu, but the waitress and chef were nice enough to offer and make a bowl of pasta marinara for my picky eater kids. Very nice people there and the atmosphere was fun. My 4 stars is only for wishing it was larger. It felt a little cramped inside, but I imagine with all the seating outside it is more spacious. We went in the peak of winter so not great for sitting outside. They did have a fire going by the picnic tables though which looks really cozy and could be great for summer outings.

On a weekend when wait times were often more than an hour, this restaurant was such a welcomed reprieve. Large garden with a live band and a walk up bar, so you don't feel like you're waiting at all. We took a first available table, which was indoors in a charming room with baseball memorabilia. The mood was great. The server was kind and accurate. And the food. Oh man, it was our best meal the entire Labor Day weekend. Delicious seafood and generous portions. Even our son, who is a bit picky at restaurants, ate the entire plate of fish and chips and coleslaw. The icing on the cake was that another diner picked up the bill for us. We couldn't even thank them because they had already left, so it was a huge surprise. Thank you, if you ever see this. You really made our day, that was SO nice. And we will pay it forward!

Was recommended this restaurant by our Airbnb host and we are so glad we ended up eating here. Sat outside, yard and decor was so awesome. Staff was super nice, food was amazing. Would deff like to come back at night for the fire pits! Will be returning if back in the area!

What a great place! We’ve been coming here on our annual vacation since they opened. It’s always a memorable evening. The food is excellent (probably the best in the area) and the outdoor area amazing to just sit and have a drink.

We stayed after for evening cocktails and to watch the live band, Ben Baldwin, play. The duo really made the evening!

My fiancé and I visited Bitter End on Sunday for Lunch. Everything was excellent, however, the portions for the main courses were small. I got the seafood stew - a handful of clams, small (very small) portion of fish, and only 2 shrimp. It was slightly underwhelming in size - although very good. My Spring Buzz drink was good....but pricey - $14. The atmosphere was nice - the owner was super sweet and I let her know everything was fantastic. If we're in the area again, and the outside is open, we will be back. (I hope the portions get bigger - when you think of a seafood stew - you don't expect very little seafood or very small portion.) Spent $130 total including a $25 tip.

Everything here was a delight! The outside patio was perfect on the summer night and they had a cool outside bar where you could order drinks while listening to a live band. The food was all very good. The clams were fresh, the taquitos were tasty and the Creme Brule was still good even though it was a little burnt. Great place to have a reasonably priced dinner.

Very unassuming curbside appearance is quickly overcome by hospitality. Servers and hosts were kind and welcoming. Haddock was perfectly cooked and its white sauce was delicious. Craft beer on tap, decent wine by the glass. Blueberry crunch is served a la mode; don’t miss it.

Great outdoor and indoor dining atmosphere to sit with family and friends. I sat outdoors as the weather was perfect so cannot comment on being inside. Outside they have tables and a very nice bar that you can hang out for drinks if interested. The food was amazing and I ordered the Clam strips with a side of fries which were cooked perfectly. The staff was great and very professional with very little wait for anything you might need. I would recommend calling ahead as Im sure it could get extremely busy during certain times. Luckily if you do have to wait for an outdoor table they have a sitting area with chairs outside where you could relax and await to be seated. I would recommend the Bitter End to anyone I know and personally return here any chance I get. Not one complaint and nothing but great employees, food and drink options.

This was my first time coming to bitter end after hearing many amazing reviews from friends and locals and it was AMAZING. The atomosphere is exceptional—cozy and warm and inviting…makes you want to stay for awhile:) we split the soup of the day to start which was a Portuguese sausage and kale and bean soup and it was incredible. We then split the burger and omg. One of the best burgers I have had out in awhile…and I love burgers and know a good one!! The service was top knotch and the server was super attentive and kind and patient for us deciding! Overall such a great experience and highly recommend everyone go:))

We have driven by Bitter End many times and it always looked busy so we decided to stop in and try it out. We were not disappointed.
They had inside and outside seating(with heaters). The staff was pleasant and helpful. The wait was short, about 15 mins on a Sat night.
We ordered a burger with fries and halibut dinner. Both were well prepared, with good portions and tasty.

We had a wonderful meal tonight. My husband had the Pulled Pig and I had the Rock Shrimp Noodle Bowl. Both were excellent! It was extremely busy but we were in and out in about an hour and 15 minutes. My husband’s only complaint is that they wouldn’t let him take the new Larry Bird shirt home! He loves all the sports paraphernalia! All the staff and hostess were very friendly. We will definitely be back.

Great place. Outdoor and indoor seating. With firepit, rustic outdoor barn-like bar, funky nostalgic decor, cool lighting and usually music on Fri. & Sat. nights. Service is usually on point. Drinks and food were tasty. This is our 11th time here, so that alone says something. Overall a very good experience. UPDATE: Added pictures from our subsequent visits.

My husband & I were in Wells, ME & because it was the end of October there weren't too many restaurants open for dinner. We were searching for options when we discovered the restaurant/bar, Bitter's End. We were blown away by the food & atmosphere. We made sure to go there again this year. 😊

Excellent service e and delicious food. Cool atmosphere with all the sports memorabilia. I was hesitant to review because this place is a hidden gem but they deserve the praise.
