This is a step back to a better time. Just moved to the area, and the service is amazing, staff knows most of the patrons, food is amazing!! I had a homemade Strawberry Rhubarb Muffin that was amazing. My Pecan Belgian Waffle with Raspberry sauce was delicious and had a whipped cream smiley that gave us all a laugh!! Highly recommended, if it's weekend be prepared to wait but it is so worth it!!

I have been wanting to go to Mel's for a long time and finally got a chance!!! The service was fantastic... and the FOOD was delicious with large portions!!! Wait till u see the pancakes!!! Can't wait to go again!

Can't say enough a out Mel's. Love both their Springvale and Sanford locations. Excellent food. Homemade raisin toast is a must when they have it.

I ordered an omelette with round crowns, and the wife got the breakfast sampler. The omelette was fantastic, but I'm going to say the star of the show was the raspberry iced tea. It tasted like a Starbucks drink for about half the price, and free refills. I also got a chicken fried steak for later, and yeah, it was a good balance of meat and breading. The gravy was the best part of that one though. We will be back to try some other things out.

We love Mel's. It's always consistent and the staff are always super sweet. We love the atmosphere and their Ham and cheese omelets are a family favorite.

Been wanting to try this place for a while and I finally had an opportunity to stop in. It's always very busy so I figured it must be good. My food was delicious, and the service was wonderful. They were also very efficient at turning over tables to keep wait times as short as possible. Definitely would recommend.

Update 12/8/23: I haven't been disappointed by Mel's yet. Had another wonderful visit this morning. They even had homemade bread this morning and it was wonderful.

Its a smaller place and it's always packed but if you have to wait it's worth it. Everything I ordered was great and it was quick.

Very nice all around. They were very accommodating and served us just before closing at 2:00 pm. We had arrived at 1:45 and they were pleasant and served us right away. We had great sandwiches and coffee which we both needed. We had had a difficult morning and hadn't had a coffee. Very pleasant and gracious.

Good home cooked style food served with quick and kind smiling service. Lots of choices cooked just the way you like it. Need I day more?

The breakfast was amazing. I got the meat lovers omelet and it was perfect. They certainly don't skimp. The grilled home fries had just the right crispness.

The price was great but they really get a 5 start for the service.

My coffee cup and my water glass were never empty. I was checked in on several times to make sure I was happy but I didn't feel annoyed. It was the perfect mix of feeling welcome but also being allowed to conduct a business meeting and not being interrupted.

Cornbeef hash was out of this world. I drove from Long Island, ny to Maine and this breakfast was that good eggs fresh cooked perfect 10 different toasts or breads very busy place and I see why excellent food good peaple very polite very clean place

Been coming here for over 7 months and the breakfast is so good I always get the 3 egg omelet with sausage and deep fried potatoes and wheat bread, the omelet was nice and fluffy and cheesy and the fries were nice and crispy and haven't been sitting in a bowl for hours like McDonald's. The staff keep checking on you making sure your happy and your drinks are full. Today I had lunch for the first time and the cheeseburger may be $5 but it tasted better then five guys and took half the time to come out and their fries were nice and crispy again. Definitely won't miss out.

This is such a great place for breakfast, took my daughter here on a whim and loved the home style feel. The wall art is playful and the service was fantastic and genuine. Food was delicious too! Will go here again for sure.

Wonderful food, I cant wait until I can return!
Only negative is parking which gets kind of funky and backing out onto Route 4 is not for the faint at heart. Its probably because it is so good to eat here.
