This place is absolutely fantastic. This is a clean, cozy old school motor inn type room. Nothing fancy but clean and perfect. If you want fancy and tons of action right there this is NOT the place for you. We had read reviews about thiness of walls so we took a box fan and we were fine. The service (all done through text messages) was prompt, courteous and helpful. The code for the electronic door room lock worked like a charm. We did not get there first night due to car issues. They were quite accommodating and helpful. I also screwed up my length of stay and once again nothing but help and amazing service. The restaurant on-site is just the best! We also utilized the picnic table that is out front for dinner a couple nights. I would stay here again. My only complaint is Gulliver is pretty remote. But other than that this place was a gem!!!!!

This is was much better than I expected. Rooms were nice and bed was super comfortable. I normally wake up a couple times a night, but I slept the whole night through. The breakfast is excellent! Huge portions, friendly service and an amazing cook. I think I found a gem!!

Great place to eat and a nice hotel. Rooms are clean and they are very nice and accommodating. I stayed here for a couple months long term for work. It was pleasant amd we ate at the restaurant every day. Breakfast is fantastic. They have delicious home made bread and baked goods. Dinner is also very good with good specials. Prices are extremely fair for the location and quality of food/service. Couldn't recommend more

My husband and I stopped here last Labor Day weekend. This is the cleanest restaurant I have ever been to! Our server was very friendly, and the owner also stopped at our table to make sure our food and service were to our liking. We both ordered omelets, which were huge and delicious! My only regret is that we didn’t have room for dessert! Their homemade pies all looked amazing.
As an added bonus, they have plenty of parking space. We were traveling with an extended cab truck and towing a 37 foot camper. We had more than enough room to park and maneuver.

We were able to make last minute reservations for an overnight stay over Fourth of July weekend. What a GREAT place! The hotel rooms are clean and the shower in room 11 was amazing! The restaurant is new and beautiful and the food delicious! Owners are kind and helpful. Stop by if you’re in the area! This is a little roadside treasure!

We stayed here while traveling around the U.P this past Summer. The rooms are decorated cute, and were clean and neat when we arrived. I had no problem with receiving my code as promised early in the day before check-in time. **The doors are code entry, but have a lock on them you can use at night after entry to secure at night.

It's your typical roadside motel: beds, dresser, TV, chair, mirror w/sink, and then the separate bathroom w/shower. It gave me a 60s/70s vibe (but updated.) Very affordable and worth it for the price.

There is no wifi, which I knew previously from reading other reviews so beware of that. That's not such a bad thing if you have children who are constantly glued to their electronics though 😉. It gives you an excuse for other things.

They do have a restaurant on-site (detached) that is open normal hours for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The options were similar to chicken fingers/fries, pancakes/sausage, etc.
**no late night**
-- if you arrive after hours you'll have to plan for something else.

Good food. They have a salad bar that wife and I recommend last Friday was a fish special. It was excellent today the special was liver and onions. Wife likes liver so she had the liver and onions. I do not eat liver and onions I had a hamburger with crispy fries. EXCELLENT the waiter came to our table many times to check on us. She got a nice tip..

Great breakfast food. Eggs perfectly made to order. Hash browns were satisfying, homemade bread was super, bacon delicious. I look forward to going back and trying their other options. We purchased frozen pasties to take home. They were outstanding. My only recommendation is that I'd love to see rutabagas included in the pastie.

I would first like to publicly apologize for any trouble I caused by a terribly bad joke I made on my profile page when I first got here. My stay has been extremely pleasant so far. Hot shower, comfortable bed and satellite dish on TV. The room is very clean and comfortable. Management addressed me immediately when they thought I had a concern (again, my unintentionally aim at a joke) and I appreciate the concern of correcting an issue. No issue to fix. Everything is good! The real unexpected gem was the attached diner. Great food, good prices and they leave the coffee carafe on the table. I would not hesitate for a moment to stay here again and recommend it to anyone traveling thru.

Newly renovated rooms, great beds, and easy check-in/out process. They recently renovated their restaurant and it looked very upscale, didn’t see anything like it on our trip up north.

Will definitely return next time we’re in the area. Would highly recommend to anyone traveling the upper peninsula.

We ate at the restaurant this morning. We drove past but then decided to turn around and give it a try, we were so glad we did. The food is fantastic, the employees friendly and the restaurant recently updated. Don't miss this U.P. gem! Open Thursday -Sunday 8 am - 2pm

Best breakfast anywhere!! We plan our vacations so we can hit this place for breakfast! They make their own sausage and sell it in 2# rolls . We always bring a roll or 2 home with us. Homemade bread, jam and all kinds of baked goods to buy and bring home! Great service, reasonable pricing, big portions and great coffee. They bring a whole pot to your table! Don't miss this place!

The waitress was very friendly and excellent service. The food was fresh and just like grandma would make! This is our new go to place to eat. Thank you for such a great home cooked meal.

The Ying: Nice little no-frills family motel in a beautiful place, clean rooms, reasonably priced. The food and service at the restaurant are excellent, pies and bread to-go, and I believe they also have package beer. Have stayed and eaten there multiple times.

The Yank: None really. Coffee on the weak side maybe, but they serve a whole carafe.

Last fall I got a room at the motel , fridge, microwave ,internet, and good water pressure, I really enjoyed my room and the bed. ,It was a big room, but felt cozy, hard to explan but well worth getting back to the next day,
I ate at the restaurant 3 different times until today which makes it 4 times. Being a Pastie Lover , I can tell you that I think they are the best on this side of the U.P.! And yes cant go wrong with breakfast, if you had been here today you could of had the special Ham, fried potatoes, eggs the way you wanted ,Homemade bread, and preservers......Oh and did I say they'll make it just the way you want. Good stop over if your heading north the owner and all of her "helpers" are gems who glitter. You wont regret it

The pic says it all! Homemade everything including the best rye bread I've ever tasted. The owner, Bernadette was so kind. This place is an upper peninsula gem that you MUST visit! Oh and this was the best homemade sausage gravy I've in 25 years.
