Great Mandarin Restaurant

Excellent Chinese food! The location is actually inside the Eden Prairie Shopping Center, and there is no door directly to the outside. We ordered take out and thought that everything we had was great. The portions were also very large.

The best asian food restaurant. Extremely sad they are closing at the end of year. A loss for quality Asian food lovers.

If you're leaving a bad review because of your political standings, maybe you should eat at home lol.
People have the right to think what they want, that's why I think this place is wonderful. My family has come here ever since they opened and we've never had a bad experience. Their food is incredible REGARDLESS of inflation, and again if you think they're expensive, it's a couple dollars more so it's not that big of a deal at all. The food is definitely worth it and the people are so nice, and it's family owned, to the person who said they're "short staffed."
Please come here, it's so good, just ignore the bad reviews and actually go before you just decide to say it's bad.
(No I don't have a political view either, I just like food.)

I’ve seen a few negative reviews today about a political campaign event. I’m saddened to see this regardless of political affiliation. I don’t agree with Jensen/Birk but I appreciate Tony and Ha! I’ve been coming here for 20 years. They’re one of the longest running restaurants in this city and an asset to the community. Their food is delicious and portions are enormous. Prices always go up but they hadn’t raised their prices for years. It’s called doing business! It’s disappointing to know politics can ruin these two’s reputation. I’m sure Panda Express has better food under a heat lamp! Geez!!!!

I can only share my experience with the lunch buffet, and I have to say I love it. They have a respectable, slightly-above-average selection of food, like maybe 4 or so meat dishes, another 5 or so of veggie/noodles, and a salad bar. I particularly find their green beans to be amazingly delicious, and the rest of their food to be at LEAST as good as other buffets, but generally better overall. No soggy, burnt, raw or undercooked, etc food, everything done well.

One other mention is the service during the buffet: they are spot on keeping your drink refilled (I don't know how they whisk in, pour, and out, without me noticing!) and getting your bill and whatnot taken care of. They leave you alone, there isn't any excessive chatter.

In short, it is my favorite buffet in Eden Prairie in terms of food quality, price, and service. I have been here many times and I don't ever recall leaving with a single complaint. Not the cheapest buffet, but it's a family owned restaurant that has to pay mall rent, so I have no problems with the $14 for buffet plus soda. I hope you like this restaurant as much as I do.

This was my favorite place to go when I was a teenager. Went with friends several time a month and it's a flavor I miss now that I've moved away. Wanted to try the buffet, but could never go in the mornings. Chicken was ALWAYS juicy and staff made us feel like family due to how often we went. Hoping to stop in when I'm in the neighborhood!

We had a great experience with Phillip who was our waiter. He had quick, friendly service, and never let a cup run dry. Tony who is either management or the owner was also very friendly and welcoming.

With the great food that was served here as well as the great service I thought I was sitting in a 5 star restaurant downtown instead of a mall restaurant.

I ordered the Honey Walnut Shrimp. It was very satisfying and would recommend. I will be definitely going back to this place in the near future.

Great food! I usually order between five or four of the same dishes but the ones I do are always good. Not always the same taste on some but service is super friendly. Decent pricing for the amount of food you get.

Great Chinese restaurant! Been coming here since 2007 and they have never disappointed. We ordered the Lemon Chicken, Orange Chicken, Chicken Fried Rice and it was all extremely wonderful! Will keep coming back again and again.

My family and I have been coming to the Great Mandarin for years. The service is consistently friendly and welcoming. The food is amazing and I always end up coming back for the hot and sour soup. I have yet to find another restaurant with soup as good as theirs. I would also recommend the sesame chicken. Wonderful place to eat.

My family has been going here since they opened, quite a few years ago. The food is always great and the service friendly. The Sesame Beef is our favorite. Their lunch buffet is always good as well. This is one of our favorite restaurants.

One of my favorite meals...honey glazed walnut shrimp with fried rice and their great green beans.
Large portions. Plenty for 2 to share with some left over to take home. Reasonably priced. Nice atmosphere. Friendly and good service. Can also enjoy an adult beverage. At Eden Prairie Mall. Easy access from parking lot....entrance lower level to the right of Von Maur entrance as you face the building. You can also place orders for pick up. Very fast.
Should support this establishment. COVID 19 HAS BEEN ESPECIALLY HARD ON OUR RESTAURANT/BAR INDUSTRY.

I'm not sure why this place has such mediocre reviews. it is fantastic! i came on a friday night which was busy but the service was still great. this place is a hidden gem. everyone was so friendly which is not something I see very often. the food was wonderful. we ordered an appetizer and 2 entrees that were priced well and able to be shared. I am impressed with this place and will definately come back. it deserves 5 stars.

I ordered the beef lo mein, the chicken wings, and the steamed dumplings.

They are all amazing. The wings are crispy, juicy, and huge. Anywhere else I go they are super small. They came with sweet sauce that was really nummy.

Dumplings are also huge. Very good, chewy and soft dough. The filling tastes so good. And, they come with sweet, salty, and kind of spicy dipping sauce.

Beef lo main has great flavor. The beef is cooked perfectly. The beef is super tender. Most places I have been to, the beef is dry and chewy.

I come all the way from Cologne/ I enjoy the food/management/staff. . . SOOOOO sorry to hear that they will be closing. I’ll get there for a meal or two before they leave-
